Like many other commenters, I think it's important to note his behavior with her before the party. He was extremely flirty and couldn't stop commenting on the appearance of Francesca. He was also flirting by teasing with her if he was inviting her as a friend or as a date to the party. And Francesca's behaviour was absolutely not platonic in response. I see this as Damien manipulating both Francesca and Gianina, not being honest with either of them, and causing a lot of trouble.
Also, let’s not forget it’s technically a special day (if not 2 year anniversary) for Damien and Giannina as a couple. Why would this be the time to escort your “not date”, not girlfriend, Francesca to your anniversary party and leave your actual girlfriend to meet you two there? So disrespectful. I can’t.

But I also think he might have hoped that it would make Gi mad enough to break up with him so he doesn't have to be the bad guy. In front of Francesca, so he can prove to her that he's not the bad guy.
Damien has always had the emotional awareness of a cement block, so it really shouldn't be a surprise that he'd do something completely shady and then be confused by the negative responses.

At the end of this scene Francesca gets upset with Damian because apparently Francesca was under the impression that Damian and Gigi weren’t exclusively dating so we can see that Damian is definitely playing both sides. Perhaps when he’s with Gigi he tells her he’s in love, but when talking to Francesca he downplays the relationship. I’ve been there and it really fucks with your head.
No. Ofc Damian is the “villain” here, but I believe Francesca is smart enough to know that there’s still something going on between them but didn’t think that G has the balls to confront her about it. So when she did, she got uncomfortable, downplayed her role in this stupid game and blamed it all on Damian. There are women who thrives on being the other woman.
As someone who has been cheated on literally dozens of times with the “just a friend” girl…. I am SUPER triggered by the term “just a friend”. Friend energy doesn’t usually require so much explanation, it’s obvious. I feel like there is a subtle ‘G is just over reacting and jealous’ theme happening here. Totally agree that genuine friend energy is easy to sense! I've felt it between the guys I've dated and their female friends, so I've never had cause for concern, whereas I've seen pairs of own friends insist they're "just friends" while undeniably being into each other.

I have always been triggered by Damien’s treatment of Giannina. Reminds me of exactly how a terrible ex of mine treated me. Since they got out of the pods he seemed to be constantly making everything appear to be her fault. It’s like she mentioned she has self sabotaged her relationships in the past when they were in the pods and he has been gaslighting her with that ever since. She continually ends up agreeing with him if for no other reason than to simply smooth things over so he will stop treating her like garbage and then it continues to the next day, the next problem Damien creates and subsequently blames on her again. Yeah dude same, just got out of a relationship where this exact thing was happening to me. I divulged that a massive symptom of my ADHD is rejection sensitive dysphoria where I'm constantly thinking I said the wrong thing or people hate me for no reason and since I told him that, everytime he did or said something shitty and id call him out and tell him i was hurt or upset or mad hed be like 'you know you have this thing, I didn't do anything wrong' And for a while I believed him but then my brain started working again apparently and i told him he was doing that, and surprise surprise he broke up with me the next day after I called him out on it.
I think the answer is pretty simple. He wants to be with and/or is with Francesca and he doesnt have the balls to end it with G. So he hoped by bringing F to this event, G would do the hard work and break up with him.

I’m glad you highlighted how Francesca was not making the effort to be friendly with Damien’s friends and girlfriend. My ex husband hid a friend from me for months. And when we finally met, this friend was very stand-off ish from me. She never tried to be friends with me but I did. I would always try to make concessions for her to hang out but she would never take me up on my invitation, ever! I suspected they were being inappropriate but I couldn’t proof it. Why to say "being inaproppiate" when what you truly mean is they were engaging sexually or emotionally? I'd be more concerned about my partner engaging into inaproppiate behaviours with other people (stealing, shaming, bullying, etc) more than what society calls "cheating". If I was Giuliana, I’d be curious about why they’re friends…like, what do you have in common, what do you talk about? This dude always gave me some psycho vibes (in colloquial meaning of course). Apparently he uses to to make some rude actions making people feel uncomfortable and then he says with deadly serious face something like "This it what I do. I like to make people feel awkward. I like to test people. If you have problem with that, you're crazy." Here it was the reunion of the "Love is blind" cast, they were a couple in this show and now they were officially still a couple (or maybe I don't understand what that means if two people are dating for two years?), he didn't contact her before, didn't propose to pick her up and come together, instead he brought some other girl and introduced her like "look, my girlfriend, I took as a +1 my hot friend who you have to accept". And later he gave her cold statement: "I wanted you to see "If Damian is strong enough as a man to bring her here, he must be confident where him and I stand." It wasn't fo you, it was for me. What do you want?" What the hell was that? What I missed in your earlier reactions was noticing that once Gannina told Damian that when something seems to be to good, she feels overwhelmed and subconsciously tries to sabotage - then in each of their fights, even when Gannina had legitimate reason to be mad at Damian, he put all blame on her using that argument.
I can remember being told that if I stood in the way of my ex's friendship with his 'friend' then there would be every chance that our relationship would be over....very manipulative when you have a child together 😒
You should watch the whole episode. Even if you don't give commentary on it all it would give you a lot more context. They showed the lunch with Damien and Francesca and they were heavily and overtly flirting. Damien invited Francesca to this party. The 3 of them all arrived separately to the party and Damien was giving Francesca a lot more attention than G. It seems G and Damien are on different pages as to where they stand in their relationship and Damien has been stringing along both G and Francesca.
I wonder if you watched the whole episode Doc cause Damian and Fran met up for lunch or something and they were being pretty flirty. Fran asked him if he's inviting her to be his date and he had no clear answer and just blushed. He even made it seem like his and Giannina's relationship is more ambiguous than exclusive which seems to be contrary to what Giannina feels.
I think Damien is just telling both women what they want to hear to try and keep them both on the line. Francesca was on Netflix's "Too Hot to Handle" and from what I saw on there she has a lot of self-confidence/pride. So I think going into this party, she was just trying to be polite and maybe she was under the assumption (via Damien) that him and G were kind of "on a break?" Hard to know with how they edit things.
Francesca was misled by Damian because he invited her as his date. So that’s why Francesca has the deer in head lights look and she later tells Damian that he should of been clear with her that he was still in a relationship with Giannina. Damian was misleading both ladies and playing games because he doesn’t even know what he wants.
Dr Honda- Damian here was trying to elicit a big scene reaction from Gigi, so that he had the excuse to look like the bigger person and walk away, which is how he treated her in season one of the show. If she made a big dramatic scene when Francesca showed up, he could point to everybody and say look at this I'm in this emotionally abusive relationship and she's crazy so I'm justified to go be with someone else. It's kind of like when you passive aggressively try to get someone to break up with you so that you don't have to break up with them and be the bad guy. That's been the general consensus since these two are no longer together.
The way Damian told her to trust him was off. I'm socially awkward so I get someone's tone might be weird in stressful situations (like you appear and sound stiff when you're trying to be genuine), but that was a red flag to me. Instead of being reassuring like "Don't worry. We're just friends. I love and respect you. Francesca respects us and I respect her so no one's gonna make any moves." He seemed really defensive like "You have to trust me. I communicate". It wasn't *bad*, but it wasn't a good explanation either lmao.
Can you analyze the lunch that Damien and Fran had before all this, because it made me super uncomfortable and I wouldn’t be ok with that behavior from my partner and their “friends” ...am I off base here? Lots of sexual comments and focus on that, seems more than just friendly.
I watched all three episodes last night and it seems clear to me that Damian is playing them both. Still, I don’t think I’ve ever pitied anyone on reality TV as much as I do him. The way he proudly showed his Porsche and said it embodied him as a person, the way he’s talking about self-care and using Botox and fillers, the way he’s smiling with the saddest facial expression I can imagine, he just looks totally lost. I don’t know him personally, of course, and I’m not an expert, but he just seems to me like he has no self-esteem or joy at all in his life.

I mean, I think you’re absolutely correct about the motivations, but Francesca was wrong here. For me, getting “caught off guard” would mean expressing what I thought was happening and confirming what is actually happening, so that I have a solid foundation to make choices from. If she’s been had, she doesn’t look worse for saying, “He told me you two were on a break/had broken up. I apologize for not considering that he wasn’t being honest.” IMO, she wins zero prizes for this except a trophy that says “Will accept any and all behavior just to have a man,” and she’s a pretty girl who could probably do better (as is G), so I don’t quite get the desire to have an undercover girl fight about this..

But from my perspective, Francesca was engaging in a subtle, “shady” mean girl fight with the things she was saying and how she said them. She was being hurtful and unkind, and even if she was his whole new girlfriend in a completely up-and-up scenario, she comes across an ungracious by poking at her that way. The way she addressed it when G walked away was how she always should have addressed it: “I didn’t realize you two were still together. But although I see your point about Fran being caught off guard, and she didn’t begin the interaction badly at all, I still see much of what she said to G in their one-on-one, and towards the end of the conversation, as disrespectful. For as many times as she said she wouldn’t mess with their relationship, she also let it be known that she was aware that Damian (this is entirely still his fault; not Fran’s, not G’s) told her they were having problems “figuring it out,” which I perceive as a subtle but constant dig. If a virtual stranger (who who was caught holding hands with my person) told me my partner went to them and discussed me, and they came away with the idea that we were “figuring it out,” that would get my hackles up. If they then went on to question me about how I would behave if we weren’t together? I mean, that one piece of that interaction seemed to ramp up the anxiety there. But I dunno. I just know how I would feel if I were in G’s place, and that I wouldn’t have opened any of those doors if I were in Fran’s, and that’s also probably why I’m not getting paid anybody’s Netflix dollars to be on a reality show.
G should of been the first person Damien introduced Francesca too at the party. He invited her, which is fine but he should of let G known ahead of time instead of catching her off guard like that. Yes about Damien lying to Francesca about his relationship with Gianina and the dress code! I actually respected the conversation the two women had with each other. It definitely illuminated some things for them about Damien. I think Damien went over because jerks like him can always sense when the tides are turning against them.
I believe the best advice for Giannina is to ask “is this discomfort something that you would cause someone you love to feel? is this a position you would put someone you love in? You missed so much context from the other episode. I do appreciate you explaining that there is typically a connection formed with girlfriend and friend that is a girl, when I am in that situation and the girl doesn’t want to talk to me or try to get to know me at all it tends to make me nervous.

2 "pretty" girls??... Slow your roll, lol. It's a matter of perspective. They both dress well and present themselves well, but no amount of clothes or makeup can cover-up their weird faces and boring personalities
So it’s hard because you’re missing context but basically Damien ignored Gianina for a week, went to lunch with Francesca (which he does say he let his gf know), but was being very flirty with Francesca and talking to the camera about how hot she is and eluding to inviting her to the party as a date - not a friendship hangout. He also didn’t tell Gianina that he invited Francesca. So while Gianina’s behavior doesn’t look the best here, given the missing context, what Damien did was not okay behavior IMO.
