For all you Hip Hop heads, if you're a fan of Method MAN, you now know where he got the idiom on his song where he refrained "M.E.T.H.O.D. MAN"... that not so subtle nod to this iconic pop duo is a great honorarium to great music!

@@laurabailey1054 yes later at night like Night Heat. I just enjoyed Night Heat with Scott Hyland and Jeff Wincott.👍 Guess It was dependent on where you lived. In the suburbs of Philadelphia Night Heat more than Private Eyes was on Late Night Tv. Loved the Theme song for Night Heat as well, Domenic Troiano with Roy Kenner. Private Eyes was tried but did not take off like Night Heat. Actually Private Eyes was on Ion Television in 2018 later moved to Ion Plus a streaming output. Night Heat was the 80's and Private Eyes later. Night Heat not a comedy drama though. But yes we get Tv shows from Canada.

I don't think he's underrated as a singer. But he is underrated as a songwriter. One day, probably after he's gone, people will begin to appreciate the consitently high quality of his songwriting over several decades.
@Whitebreadonly
@Whitebreadonly Год назад
I’d say he’s not really underrated in either aspect, but more underrated as a singer than a songwriter. Modern musicians are buying the rights to sing his songs, even though none of them come anywhere close to making them sound as good as their (the original) versions. If he was underrated as a songwriter, noone would be interested in singing their songs.

Every Hall & Oates song is fire! One of my most favorite of their's is called Wait For Me. It sounds like Lucas' heart beats to a drum. I did the same thing as a child. I'd use butter knives on pots and pans or the arms of my gran's leather couch and play along to songs in my head or something I was hearing on TV or radio. I never had drum lessons but I'm a self taught drummer. I play by ear. It would be so cool if one or both of your daughters had a passion for drumming also. No matter what instruments your children fall in love with you guys encouraging them is a blessing. ❤

I wore out my cassette of Big Bam Boom back in 1984 and one thing I love about this video (beyond its 80s silliness) is at the very end with the great line Daryl kind of speaks but isn't very audible on the song: "Don't mess with imperfection." Great reaction as usual, guys.

One thing to mention, there's a guy that never gets credit, but wrote all the groove into these songs, their bassist from 1981-2010, Tom" T-Bone" Wolk. He was also their musical director, and played guitar and synths. One guy that has gotten some use out of being in that band during its heyday, their guitarist, one of the best, G.E. Smith, from 79-80, and again from 81 -82. His contributions got him the job as the bandleader for Saturday Night Live from 85-95, although I'm sure his brief marriage to SNL star Gilda Radner helped open the door as well. He brought T-Bone Wolk along with him as well.
