@@TheSynthPunk Yeah, they got pretty thoroughly screwed by Tzeentch from square zero. Most of them weren't even particularly interested in the Warp beyond immediate applicability, and they got turned into Rubrics for their sanity.

I just think that TTs have the best chance of saying "Fuck You" to the ruinous powers out of all the traitor legions.

@@TheSynthPunk The biggest issue is that Tzeentch owns their collective souls, barring, perhaps, Ahriman, at this point, and Tzeentch, despite his title, does not tend to change his own ways. Besides, this is 40K, when does anything even marginally sensible ever happen?

Fortunately, i believe those Thousand Sons Sorcerer doesn't actually turn into dust before they get there, because those who turn into dust and trapped inside his armor are those Thousand Sons that doesn't have enough Psychic power to resist "Rubik of Ahriman", thus reducing them to dust and trap the souls inside power armor Tl;dr Thousand Sons Sorcerer aren't walking dustbin, since they have good Psychic power to "accept" Rubrik of Ahriman

The loyalist world eaters the in the top category of badass. Shows that even as they broke themselves with the nails to become closer with Angron, they were still loyal to the Emperor and his ideals. They knew what Angron could do, they’d seen him butcher his own sons before and they still charged him with bolters and axes.

One important thing to note, and you mentioned it with Garro, is that many of the Loyalists from the traitor legions were Terran born, and thus knew a time before their Primarchs, and were loyal to the emperor first. Many of them, like Garro, also didn't like the changes made after finding their primarch, as the nature, traditions, battle orders, etc, changed once the Primarchs were found and new Marines from the Primarchs' planets were raised, and got moved to positions of importance over the Terran born marines.

Astartes are genetically programmed and most likely psychically bound to their respective Primarchs. I would imagine that Terran born Astartes were inoculated from that genetic/psychic tie from their time spent in the Illumination of the Emperor. Those from a Primarch’s surrogate home worlds were probably affected by the Warp on those worlds. Those worlds represent the breaches from which the Primarchs re-entered Real-space after being shot into the Immaterium during their incubation. It makes sense that the veil between Real-space and the Immaterium was thinner on those planets either naturally which drew the Primarchs to them, or because of the Primarchs when they breached. In any case, being in such close proximity to the Emperor would have prevented any corruption of the Terran-born Astartes from The Warp, and negated any psychic bonds to their progenitor Primarchs.

Death Eagles are a likely loyal EC that exists in current time so its not really a stretch to homebrew loyalist versions of Trators in lore probably with the exception of the Thousand Sons.

I got one from the freaking Word Bearers: Barthusa Narek. Here's the thing about him: unlike most instances, he kept his loyalty to the Emperor a secret, but someone must have ratted him out, cause his former brothers knew all along, but waited for the right moment to betray him. What does he do? He calls the legion out for their BS, gives a James Bond-like one liner, and kills the Possessed Marines with a pair of guns. Unfortunately, although Narek is loyal to the Emperor, he isn't a paragon in the mold of Garro or Loken. He wants Lorgar dead, but is willing to risk collateral damage and questionable means to achieve it.

@@RamonChiNangWong078 Here's a kicker: as far as I am aware, no mention has been made of any particular Loyalist Primarch spawning more/less Traitor marines than any other, so all things being equal more Ultramarines Successors go Traitor than any other former-Legion.

Well that's the thing with loyalists from traitor legions; they don't act like their brothers because they embody what their legion was supposed to be. The Emperors Children should have been like Tarvitz not the other way around. Loken for example didn't have a radically different personality from other Sons of Horus because the change that happened to them was more subtle then the Emperors Children.

@@morganschmidt5996 that's because the real Fulgrim would have never succumbed to Chaos corruption had it not been for the Laer blade and the daemon possession. He pretty much got the worst of Chaos' arsenal of corruption arrayed against him. I am very sure that pretty much all the other primarchs would have fallen to Chaos too if they suffered from possession and daemonic influence.

I think Tarvitz and Lucius were supposed to represent the two sides of the Emperor's Children and Fulgrim's personality. Both sought the perfect by doing their duty, however, while Lucius is a glory hound and wished to attain victory for his legion and ofc, himself as the Legion's finest swordsman, Tarvitz wanted glory for the Imperium as a whole and didn't mind serving as a line officer with no fancy titles but nevertheless won the respect of his peer as a leader of men. Lucius was friend with Tarvitz not only because he was a swell guy but 'cause deep down he knew Tarvitz wouldn't bother to steal his spotlight, and that was the reason why Lucius fell to Chaos when Tarvitz, for the first time, completely overshadowed Lucius. Fulgrim was a firm believer in the Imperium Truth that humanity is the rightful ruler of the galaxy and while he wanted mankind to reach the top of the pyramid and he was willing to do so no matter the cost, but at the same time, he also wanted to attain glory for himself and set the standard what humanity could be, or put it simply, the definition of human perfection.

Tarvitz was one of the Emperor's Children who weren't corrupted by the Laeron Temple (the place Fulgrim found the daemonically possessed sword) or Fabius Vile's experiments.

@@venerablebrothergoriate5844 The Minotaurs earned my respect when they slaughtered the few high lords who tried to rebel against Gulliman, waiting patiently the whole time for the order to execute the traitors, while pretending to be on their side. The chapter master personally executed the traitor high lords on broadcast for all of Terra to see what happens to traitors, then just shut off the feed when he was done with them. That must have been very satisfying after being the lap dogs of said high lords for far too long, getting to finally put a few of them in their place in the form of a glorious overkill in front of every citizen on Terra. They can now be put to better use for the imperium.

I have been listening to the audiobooks for the first few horus heresy novels when I drive to work in the mornings and I have been loving it! I have 3 warhammer fantasy novels and 2 age of sigmar armies so I have never been super into 40k lore but I gotta say, I see why it was so much more popular than other warhammer worlds. The grim dark is just so good!

Which one? The one 40k theories made or the one by Bolter and Chainsword? I hoped the 40k theories one was Cannon it’s far more enjoyable as the og loyalists were less human then the traitors but now you have the more inhuman primarchs falling to chaos. They would make much better villains then the traitors. And it makes my favorite primarch Magnus die in such a badass way.

Buddy, you forgot a KEY Luna Wolf, Iacton Qruze...one who helped Euphrati Keeler and her friends escape from the Vengeful Spirit to the Eisenstein, during the Istvaan 3 Atrocity. He's also the second loyalist traitor, next to Garro, to become a Knight Errant of Malcador, but later on dies at the hands of Horus, when an assassination attempt goes horribly wrong

How to create a loyalist chapter from death guard gene seed. Step 1, give to Krieg. Step 2, profit. Due to the way they follow the cult of sacrifice they could even be told they are death guard and the shame of their ancestors would compel them to fight even harder than the average death corps soldiers plus they would have a massive grudge against the traitor death guard

@@Kristian.B.Kristiansen earlier yes, after that it literally states that he was about to be killed by Garro, due to injuries and fatigue after the fight with those 2 astartes, he would have been slain. At that moment he got teleported away and cried to be left to die on Terra.

@@andybogdan4380 close, but you are wrong. Abaddon was able to fight on, but the text literally says, that he was pinned to the wall by the Riven Hounds enormous dead body. Garro would have swung his blade before Abaddon would have been able to free himself. Abaddon wanted the fight to go on and on forever. He cried because it ended, he wanted to fight more, kill more and yes die if it came to that.

Imagine how different the Heresy would be had Abaddon gotten Drach'nyen -Loken would have died at Isstvan III. Traitors lose a lot less Marines -Abaddon kills Nyoka Sharrowkyn, Artellus Numelon and Shadrak Meduson as well as countless Loyalists. Corax loses an arm -Abaddon participates at Calth and kills Aeonid Theil as well as Guilliman. Ultramarines lose over 90% of their Marines -Abaddon kills most of the Knight-Errants including Garro, Mace and Rubio while the few are killed by the SoH -Abaddon kills Russ at Trisolian and prevents the wounding of Horus. Corax losses the bulk of his Legion against Abaddon -Beta-Garmon becomes very one-sided. Abaddon kills Valdor, Jennita Krole, Raldoron and Azkaellon as well as an Emperor Titan -Horus, Lorgar and Abaddon destroy Loyalists during Solar War -Siege is over by Lost and Damned. Traitors too many to handle plus Lorgar and Horus involved from the start

Emperor bless you Majorkill! Thank you greatly for giving these characters the spotlight and love they deserve, but way too rarely get. It warms my happy and good but rough Torgaddon heart! To everyone else: Baldemort, MajorKill and the lot may make it seem, that reading the books ist not really nescessary, but that's a misjudgement! Just read at least the first four Horus Heresy books. I assure you, you'll never forget these characters! You'll even acknowledge how god damn legendary (in a loyalist sense) the Death Guard could be, which you never would have thought looking at their sulking primarch.

He probably went into the laer temple but was insulated because he was a dreadnought. Lucious got sent to the planet. He was never in the snake temple because he was with Saul on planet Murder during the Laer campaign plus he hadnt even gotten the augments from Fabius.

I have thought that the main reason for ol Bob Gull not using traitor geneseed is that he kinda realises that the primaris are borderline heresy to begin with (messing with the emps creations). To re-introduce those who have turned would have been too much for the inquisition to tolerate. Though we all still suspect that mr Cawl might have just ignored him there. Cracking video by the way, I kinda feel the same about these true heroes of the Imperium (though getting a hard-on might be a bit much haha)

So, If a loyalist marine somehow became lost in the warp where time had no meaning and so could emerge 10k years later (like the fallen Dark Angels), what traitor legion do you think he'd be from? Dusk Raiders, Lunar Wolves, World Eaters, White Scars, Word Bearers, 1000 sons, Night Lords, Emperor's Children, or Alpha Legion? Planning on making one of my deathwatch Black Shields one such marine, a mystery to his brothers as they know not his name or former chapter.

Within the reformatting of the Space Marine Legions into Chapters, is a much stricter screening process for picking new recruits, so in theory if they did this with even the traitor gene seed then they could be added to the roster of available military resources
