I am on my third LS . I usually put about 1500 hours on a tractor before I sell it. I really haven't had any issues with the brand . I just change the oil and normal maintenance. I do check all nuts and bolts regularly on my pretrips and post trip inspections. I find most people with problems on their new tractors don't preform pretrip inspections. Always make sure the Regen runs every time, never bypass it or ignore it. Always run the tractor at high rpms , it is not designed to run at low rpms because of the Regen. Never ever get the computer wet, always keep it dry.
Good review, I just purchased one identical, including the rear ports. Have not received it yet, but your review gives me confidence I made the right choice. One thing however, I did not like on the LS is where they have the exhaust coming out, you have to make sure you do not park it in or near anything high and flammable. Other than that...I was impressed with the LS brand.
Thank you for your review I've been wanting a tractor to help Maintenance my half a mile private drive way an to just relandscape my entire yard .im like you I'm trying to get my credit report looking better so I can better afford one an I just decided about two months ago on the brand an horse power to take care of my long list of job's for the tractor .
It has the same hydraulic pressure no matter the engine speed just more flow at higher rpms. I have an LS too had it 1 year. Put 250 hours on it so far. Love it.
@@daveroberts9921, oh cool. The dealer I went to didnt have any of those. I looked at the xg3025 with a backhoe though, I'm pretty sure I'm going to get it
@@daveroberts9921 Hey me too. I bought one when they were brand new. I bought in Dec/14 but it was a 2015. Great little tractor. A bit bouncy but I loaded all 4 tires and that added 400-500 lbs. Killer little rig and I paid $5-6k less than a friends John Deere lawnmower looking rig with a 550lb loader. Great tractor even better price!
Nice looking tractor, I ruled out JD and Kabota early in my research also. Im not paying thousands extra for green or orange paint. They both use DEF and DPF with regen. I dont want anything to do with that! Did you look at Mahindra? They have a complete line of compact tractors with a seven year drivetrain warranty.
Great video, im thinking of getting the same model. Question: can you raise the bucket and pour gravel at the same time? Or do u have to stop raising it to dump the load?
The LS XG3140 is basically a New Holland Boomer 40 with most of the parts being identical and the only difference in part numbers is the addition of MT(xxxxxx) in front of the number..
About the only new vehicle I remember my father buying is a Massey Ferguson 245 around 1980. He just made the first major repair (lift seals) this year. It's hard to argue with that investment.
The company that makes LS has been building tractors for over 35 years. They are a South Korean company. In North America, they have been sold as LG Montana, Montana, Farmtrac, LandTrac, LongAgri, LandTrac, McCormick Tractors and Landini. New Holland Ag also imports LS tractors to resell as LS-New Holland. (They originally had agreements with Fiat, which purchased New Holland. New Holland is a division of CNH Global).
That's a nice tractor. Ya the JD and Kubota tractors are expensive with not a lot of goodies. I myself like the Kioti tractors. For $30-$40k you can get a Kioti with a lot of options.
Hey BarnCreek - wondering if you could provide an update on the LS Tractor? How are you feeling about it after some more time on it? I'm looking at the LS brand as well. Also considering the Kioti - both in the 35 HP range. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.
BarnGeek... It has been a bit over 2 years now... how is it performing and do you still think you made the best choice? My husband and I are looking at tractors now and are making a decision soon. Thanks for a very thorough review!
Yep, still love my tractor. It has been back to the dealer one time for a n electrical issue. It was a problem with the ignition and throttle switch. But they fixed it and have had no problems since.
I have a new sawmill and I need a tractor I'm looking at an ls 3025 will that be big enough?I know you have a sawmill and post and beam company. Perfect person to ask
Sorry, I just saw your comment. My 3140 is enough to get any log I want to on my sawmill. I was thinking about a 3025 when I bought my 3140. I'm glad I went with the 3140, it seems to be the perfect size. Small enough to get around in the woods, and big enough to load any log my sawmill would handle. I'm sure you could get by with a smaller tractor, but I wouldn't want to.
The Kubota L3901 which is one size smaller than your tractor weighs 2,778 lbs. just over 100 lbs less than your tractor. The Kubota L4701 that is the same size as your tractor weighs 3,307 lbs. that is over 500 lbs more than your LS. You were saying heavier is better so I am just giving you some true specs. That is a good looking tractor though. It is however made in Korea.
I was comparing weight to cost... I think it would be difficult to compare model to model since you can get a 40 hp engine in multiple different models of a wide variety of brands.
Made in Korea is a good thing... John Deere is China parts assembled here.... Kobota isn't as good as they once were... Plus the hydro peddle is just uncomfortable and many weird issues with safety switched.... Personally this lifts more and has many things that I like better the kobota...
@@jerrywalker5673 soooo, subjective likes and dislikes but on the original assertion of weight in a 40hp tractor the op is correct. Also LS from what I see is a good tractor. However, purposely miss spelling the brand name of a brand you don't have an affinity for, just makes people disregard your point immediately.
I can't decide between a model like yours or the xr 3135, the xr has a few more bells whistles, little more weight, but 5 less hp. Im curious, did you know about the xr model? If so, what led you away from it onto the xg?
jcahreevdy it depends on your intentions sometimes the extra loader capacity and weight is more important than HP. Sometimes those rear remotes and extra features are very handy.
Are you missing your rear right fender hand rail? It looks like there's one on the left side, but not on the right. I have an LS 3037H and it has hand rails on both fenders. Mine also has side steps up to the operator's platform on both sides.
I'm able to mount from either side on mine, but you're right, I believe it is "designed" to be easier to mount on the left. Mine has about 250 hours (new 09/2015) and I have had zero problems with it. Really like it.
