LS1 Z28 Camaro with Procharger on the Dyno.

Dyno Pull. 2002 Z28 M6 with Procharger D1SC @10psi with twin 4.5" intercoolers. The numbers on the monitor screen turned out too blurry to read, but best pull that session resulted in 542 RWHP SAE running out of injector at 5300 RPM. Installing larger injectors soon and going back for more tuning.
UPDATE. Installed a Walbro in-tank pump and went back to the dyno on July 10th, 2010. This time on a Dynapack loaded dyno. Car put down 546/506.

@allout06 THANKS! I think duty cycle was about 80% with the Walbro in-tank and the in line booster pump from Procharger.

For power mods it has a D1SC, FLP long tube headers and Y pipe, Magnaflow cat back with a Spintech muffler in place of the original resonator, BBK Throttle Body, "truck" ignition coils (D585), Siemens Deka injectors and T-rex in line fuel pump. It has green top 42# injectors in the video but they pegged at 5300 RPM, so I've swapped in the Siemens 60# since. We will go back to the dyno and hope for a bit more power. The car has loads of other mods, but those are the "power producing" mods.

with the walbro pump, how did the duty cycle look on the injectors? Did you use a single pump? I was gonna go with a lonnies twin in tank setup. im piecing together a procharger setup myself for my '00 Trans am, going with a D1SC also but at 8psi. But I have a torquer V3 Cam, ported and polished throttle body, long tubes, true duals, no emissions, BBK intake, and 4.10 gears. Hoping to make 550rwhp with my setup with 8psi. nice car btw!

can i ask what does it cost to install a kit like this top to bottom turn key? I have a camaro myself and I am debating if I want to put a crate motor in it with a blower or just get a procharger thanks

It was stock internals with LS3 valve springs. Had long tubes, and a spin tech muffler etc.

the last bit is important! haha it blew up. That sucks man. I am about to get into turbo's but I am starting to think that I would be better off with a 5.3 especially since the possibility of blowing up the engine is always there.

All you gotta do is change internals and a ls1 will do just fine on boost it's the rods and pistons you gotta worry about

i made 600rwhp and 577rwtq on methanol at 9lbs with my d1 and a 228r and bolt ons with an automatic and 3:73 on 93 octane and stock heads and j bracket. fyi for people looking for numbers info. it also blew up.

@@shadowninja911x From what I have read over 500 wheel is about where the stock internal get unhappy, mainly rod bolts.

This is an old post, but I have a 98 camaro z28 and thinking about putting a sc on it. Its in good shape but has 144k miles. which is a lot. Not sure how long it would last under boost. 8 psi would be max I would put in it maybe 7. Thinking about putting an LS3 in there instead. Its about the same price and put a cam in and it should make good power. Stock LS1's start to get damaged if you go above 500+ rwhp. Stock rods and pistons cant take the power I guess.

I still get notifications, LOL. I just sold my last Camaro about three years ago and it was also a '98. That year of LS1 has the weak rod bolts. My memory is bad, but as I recall it was putting down 550-ish RWHP but with a careful tune, methanol injection and upgraded head bolts (when I swapped to 243 heads) and LS9 head gaskets. It only had 42K miles when sold. In your case, I would highly recommend the LS3 swap. On reason I sold the '98 is I felt I could not go any further with it without building the bottom end or doing a swap. I thought it would be smart to sell it before I hurt it.

For all I know it might be in KY now. I have not owned it since December of 2012. The dealer I traded it to told me later that an older gentleman in Tennessee bought it.

Sadly, I traded the car in on a 2012 Corvette Z06 back in fall of 2012. I'm flattered that such an old video still gets occasional comments and I'll try to answer. If I recall, I had the transmission upgraded with better blocker rings and a steel 3-4 shift fork. Also did the bronze pads on the shift forks. May have upgraded more parts, but I don't remember.🤥

@MickNJ1979 Sorry for the delay in replying. I don't watch my own videos very often lol. For a basic LS1 F-body Procharger kit you are looking at around $6K. I would shop at Brute Speed for one. Bob Beam is a great guy and has competitive prices. If you are handy with a wrench I would advise doing the install yourself or go to a very trusted shop. Procharger includes a very nice illustrated install manual.
