I remember being in the stadium for that game and we saw Odell walk into the stands and jump right in the middle of the band, I’m assuming that’s when he gave his request.
I know that a lot of SWAC bands have been playing this song for years. As a matter of fact, I remember going to SWAC football games in the 90’s and hearing this song played often. However, as a Black LSU alumnus (c/o ‘90...Geaux Tighas!) it was so refreshing to hear something different than the same ole same ole stuff they play at football games! Yes, the students have added a naughty twist to the lyrics, but it gets the crowd and players hyped! I wish they would continue playing this song at games!
CMoney Mark we only played it because Odell was there and he said he would pay the fine because the song got banned and we’re not supposed to sing it but it’s still lit
Thanks Jacob for uploading this. Unfortunately Neck will probably remain banned during the games and this time permanently. It sucks because it fired up the players and the crowd more than anything else the band played and certainly more than any of that piped-in crap. If only the students could just think it but not say it...
Does LSU band know this song has been played by black marching bands for forever?? Oh okay... I ask because I thought corps style bands (white people LOL) didn't like black marching bands... Especially not enough to study them and learn their songs... but I digress LOL
Prince Mwamba I know your comment was 9 months ago but even if grambling played it in the 90s they still suck ass today 😂 UL blew that ass out yesterday. Cmon let a REAL college football team adopt the song
That ish sound dumb af!! I can not stand LSU. And I'm from LA. New Orleans to be exact. Let's GEAUX SOUTHERN UNIVERSITY. 💙💛 That's how it's suppose to be played. #wecanthavenothinggeez
As a black LSU alum and with a family of Jackson State Alums, I must say it doesn't sound stupid. And I think it's good to show some diversity. Let us have some fun too sis!
