Randomizer: A Link to the Past
Mode: Open (with Boots)
I really cannot believe a seed like this cropped up immediately after my presentation video about Link to the Past Randomizer's various modes... I had mentioned that Open Mode seeds have potential to be rather samey after playing enough of them, and well... this seed ended up being simple proof of that. How, you may ask? The general progression of this one starting from the Dark World is something I have seen so often, that I just straight up called it out as being the correct thing to do.
Open Mode plays only a little differently than the Standard Mode I posted before. You start with the world in the state is in after rescuing Princess Zelda from Hyrule Castle... but the items themselves are still in the castle. Open adds a bit of a rough patch at the start where you need to scrounge up rupees and bombs, but afterwards, it plays exactly like Standard.
Honestly, I am kinda liking having an excuse to do these simpler modes again. I feel like they work better in a RU-vid format than live.

I like the Fast Forward segments. I'd rather see more of that than cuts to be honest. The film reel sound effect is fun. I love watching you speedrun this game regardless. Thanks for making this series.

I can appreciate that you go out of your way to still explain how things work or give out bits of info while in the middle of playing the game, trying to run it fast as possible. It keeps it entertaining.

Y'know, I never really thought about it until you showed it off, but what does the stone in the chris houlihan room say in the randomizer? Considering that the randomizer messes with all the text in the game and all.

42:14 I seem to remember you sometimes played a variant of the Dark Magician in cases like the ones you describe here, where if there was no key in the "hope room" with two chests, you would play as if you had not gained any keys from the left-hand side, and would instead teleport back to the main room. In this case you were betting solely on there being a small key in the hope room (so the opponent would waste time chasing further) with the boss key being in the first five checks on the left, and cutting your losses if that weren't the case. This wrinkle was called "Pink Magician" strats.

One of these videos, could you explain the end credit hints for where things were, if just for that specific seed? I know some of them are pretty obvious but I've been completely stumped on others...

I'm not against jump cuts in the run, but when it skips over pick-ups, like the gloves, it does seem to go against some of the point of watching a randomizer. I don't need to see every chest opening (oh look, 20 dollars), but it'd be nice knowing where things were.
