Great show Travis, I recently installed the chopping block control arms and when I went to install the tie rods they were long so I had to modify a bit not sure there is enough to adjust for alignment
@SIMPLE.C10

Thanks for the heads up on tie rods. I will be adjusting those soon as they are too long right now as expected. I’m learning as I go as well and sharing what I find out.

Hi Travis. I’ve been wondering why you run both of the front airlines down the passenger side frame rail as opposed to running the drivers side airline down the drivers side frame rail. Thanks.
@SIMPLE.C10
@SIMPLE.C10 6 месяцев назад
I don’t like to drill a bunch of holes in the frame. If I did both sides then I would need to drill a hole in the other side of the crossmember. It saves me time running them across the crossmember and through one hole. Also keeps my lines together to run down one side of the frame to my airlift 3p so it keeps things neat. Just personal preference. You could do it either way.

Nice clean setup, liking those arms! How close do the bigger wheels come to those air lines on a full turn?
@SIMPLE.C10
@SIMPLE.C10 7 месяцев назад
They are about three inches away at full lock. I ordered some 90s to plug into the bulkheads and some rubber hose to put around the line. I’m going to try a few things to secure it and make it even better.

Another great video! Do the lower control arm have provisions for sway bar mounts? Are sway bars overkill for a bagged truck? Happy New Year’s BTW

Have you thought about using spark plugs wire separator clamps for the air lines to hold them together?
@SIMPLE.C10
@SIMPLE.C10 3 месяца назад
That’s a good idea. The lines barely have any movement in them so they stay pretty easy. Thanks for the suggestion!

Thanks for the video. I do have one concern with the top shock mount. It looks like it’s on quit a bind. Maybe when it’s lowered it better. ??Those bushings might not last long or even bend the shock shaft. Are you sure that is mounted correctly? Just asking.
@SIMPLE.C10
@SIMPLE.C10 7 месяцев назад
Thanks for your feedback! I installed per instructions. I understand the concern of the bushings. I don’t see it being an issue with weight on the truck but if it does become an issue, I’ll make sure to share with everyone. I appreciate it.

I’ve been leaning towards bagging my 66 so I’ve been watching a lot of your videos and I have gotta say they are great. I do have a question though. If you were to do the truck in stages like the front and then later the back. Is there a way you can run the truck temporarily before you get around to getting the tanks and everything else mounted?
@SIMPLE.C10
@SIMPLE.C10 6 месяцев назад
Do the front first then you can have air lines to manual put air into to move the truck around. Then do the back and you can do the same thing. I would encourage you to just keep saving up and get everything at once. There’s nothing more frustrating than being stuck on a build because you don’t have what you need.

I have a question about the chopping block control arms 1” narrowed 1” forward on my truck I installed the lower and I noticed they have 2guide holes on shaft but you only use 1 and I noticed that the second unused hole was a little visible did you notice that I was told it is normal but I wanted to know if you had that on yours and it’s like a 1/2 to 3/4 off I called SS and they confirmed that it’s normal
@SIMPLE.C10

Will the shock relocation bracket work for stock lower control arms?
@SIMPLE.C10

Yes it will but if you’re running stock, I recommend just a 3 inch drop shock. I have them on my air ride guide at www.simplec10.co

Those lower shock eyelets are not going to last long with those incorrect angles. And they will be worse with the suspension compressed / aired out.
@SIMPLE.C10
@SIMPLE.C10 6 месяцев назад
Yea. I agree that the relocation bracket design didn’t align the shock correctly. That’s why I try this stuff out to see what works best. Thanks for your feedback. I plan to fabricate the top bracket some.
@robbuchanan4870
@robbuchanan4870 6 месяцев назад
@@SIMPLE.C10 you should fab a new lower bracket instead that rotates the lower shock mount 90 degrees. Could be done with a piece of C channel.
@SIMPLE.C10
@SIMPLE.C10 6 месяцев назад
@@robbuchanan4870 I believe if the top shock mount was mounted closer to the control arm It would fix the angle. I’ve looked at other designs similar and they work better.
