#gaming #nintendo #mario #luigi #comparison #graphics #youtube #viral A quick comparison of the intro video in Luigi's Mansion 2: Dark Moon on the Nintendo 3DS VS the intro video in Luigi's Mansion 2 HD on Nintendo Switch.
Remember when Luigi’s Mansion 1 remake was announced back in 2018? It came on the 3DS and in 2019, Luigi’s Mansion 3 was released on the Switch? I don’t mind being wrong, but what if we get Luigi’s Mansion 4 announcement at the end of the year? Similar to before?
THAT WOULD BE SO COOL 😭 but my guess is since there is going to be a Nintendo switch 2 (idk if it’s true or not but I believe it is) there might be a possibility for a Luigi’s Mansion 4, WHICH I HOPE THERE WILL!!!
Dark Moon was my first Luigi's Mansion. I remember people didn't care for the mission structure or the lack of portrait ghosts, but the game's charm was enough for me to enjoy. This game with Luigi's personality is the reason I played to the end.
I seriously cannot believe the original 3DS version is 11 years old. I remember when the first Luigi's Mansion was 11 years old...now it's over 20. The third game is already 5 years old too lol. Time just disappears far too quickly before I can even realise it...
Looks pretty good, the only thing that kinda bugs me is that Luigi’s eyes in the HD version seem centered the entire time, whereas in the 3DS version they actually move to show where he should be looking (like at around 2:23, his eyes in the switch version aren’t looking at the TV when shaking his head, but they are in the 3DS version) that might just be me nitpicking though
@@luigiriolo8797 Would be very strange to just change it for the trailer. And I do also Not think, that this will be fixed until it releases. The game is probably in production as it releases next month.
Actually if you pause in the moment when he falls back away from the TV you can see his eyes tilted quite far downwards towards his nose, but only right before the camera changes. For some reason they just made his change in direction either static or not as fluid as the original?
In the original game, his eyes were flat textures pasted onto the character model that were then manually animated in each facial expression, likely being redrawn multiple times. This was very common for characters in both DS and 3DS games to save on polygons. This time they seem to have actually modeled the eye's into his head, meaning that the method for how his eye's move and are animated have also changed. That's likely the cause for difference.
me too, i'm really hyped for it, those old moments where multiplayers was very active and fun, i miss it and i'm glad if we could get it back in the hd i'm just scared that we will have to pay to play online tho which weren't the case on 3ds
I don't understand why everyone says thish game is going to be awful, I'm looking forward to it. Especially since Dark Moon was my favoirte in the trilogy.
I played Luigis mansion dark moon on my 3DSXL was best game i had played on my Ds, i don’t have a ds anymore and i have no clue where the game went:( now i have luigis mansion 3, cant wait for this hd version ima complete it soo fast
I love my 2ds xl and played tons of games on it. Despite loving the first Luigi's Mansion, I just never got around to the sequel for more than an hour or so. So I'm def looking forward to this release. Do you think it holds up well gameplay wise to the 1st and 3rd games?
@@indominus_B yea I think it does and I actually didn’t play the GameCube version of the 1. Luigi’s mansion but I did play the 3ds version and it looked much better but do you think maybe I should play the switch version
Much more of a glowup than I was expecting, even if you can still tell it was a 3DS game. The only thing I don't care for is the bright stitching on luigi's overalls, it's a little distracting, imo.
I can't wait to play this game online again. But I'm sad that the "over here" line will be cut since it was a touch screen line. Also, now that this is here, I want them to port the original game to switch already!!
It looks a lot better side by side but I think the main issue is that the animation is still fundamentally as limited as the 3DS. The rigs are all the same with the same reliance on alternating flat textures. The better models do a better job at hiding it, but you can still tell it wasn’t quite made for the Switch.
Ngl the nostalgia with the polygon look kinda making me lean torward 3ds version (also that was the first Luigi’s mansion I ever played and second Nintendo game I played)
They take the original, increase the polygon count, and up the resolution. There are other small changes, such as the lighting, but yea, that's pretty much how they do it. It looks awesome. I love the 1st game and enjoyed the 3rd game quite a bit. I've played the 2nd game for a few hours, but being able to play it on a big screen has me really excited for this release.
Dark Moon > LM3 LM3 wasn't really all that spooky compared to Dark Moon. LM3's hotel had a more lighthearted atmosphere with all the themed floors and such. Also the lights where on most of the time, making your flashlight nearly pointless.
0:42 Everything was swell Until someone split the Dark Moon Then something strange brought on a change 1:55 E. Gadd to Luigi! Am I comin' in clear, do you read me? Bad stuff's heatin' up like fondue Gonna beam you to my crib like Tron do These ghosts seem unassailable Don't worry, they're still inhalable Kinda wanted somebody less failable But your bro Mario's unavailable
*(LUIGI)* Since the Luigi model is a full Mesh the shoulders, elbows, and head. can be a bit stiff as times as to not clip into itself. Not to mention the mouth expression can be a bit boring at times. *(E. GADD)* As for E. GADD his facial/mouth expressions actually sync with his lines which is nice and all, but a minor difference since we only see him for the beginning, between missions (If they keep the mission system which they might) and the ending. (My biggest concern is just the facial expressions of most characters, gameplay will most likely be the same. HD models doesn’t make it better. It’s expressions and life they give that makes it better)
Luigi’s mouth doesn’t give me the same feeling of fear in the new version. The corners(?) don’t go as far down as the original, giving a less frightened look
Polygon count has been increased as well, but any other changes besides frame rate aren't very noticeable in this intro video. It is a 3DS game, however, and it being brought to the Switch allows it to be played in HD on a big screen for the first time. That alone is a big deal to many people. Besides, if anyone knows Citra, then you know this game is NOT an option there 😂
Another remake capped at 30FPS like TTYD, i remember playing the original on day 1, Relese day on a car ride home from the game shop. To see it be remade like… this is just… No ill stick to the original.
Game may have an uncapped FPS on 3DS, but rarely got higher than 30 in very specific circumstances and ran at sub 30 FPS most of the time on actual hardware anyways. Having an uncapped framerate was a poor decision and most likely a mistake if anything, and actually hurt the experience in my opinion. I can assure you as someone who has played it multiple times before, I will gladly take a consistent 30 FPS over whatever the hell Next Level was thinking with the framerate on 3DS. You do you though. I agree that 30 FPS on TTYD is lame though.
His expressions are so… off? In the remaster. It seems when Nintendo makes a remaster, that’s the one thing they ruin is the face expressions and personality from the original and they just make them more stiff and awkward.
Except it's absolutely nothing like that. Luigi's Mansion is following a coherent story from one game to the next and are different experiences each time.
Ahh, good to see the absolute bare minimum changes that pretty much in no way enhance the experience. _Really_ needed to see the buttons on E. Gadd's coat, my life is complete now. Definitely worth the 60/70$ this is probably gonna sell for.
Yeah, I definitely wished that more was changed. It does looks as the same game with updated graphics, absolutely not worth paying 60 dollars. Although, this is only the introduction of the game so maybe it gets better from here.
@@Megalania1 Oh, I'm sorry, my bad. I thought you were calling metaljacket and I the fanboys. I was so confused because I was just thinking "We're criticizing the game, how does that make us fanboys?"
