Luis Arraez Trade Reaction - Game Changer for Padres? | Foul Territory 

I’ve never understood why DH has to solely be a power hitter. For the Padres, they have 2-3 hitters who virtually already cover that, they didn’t have the high average guy to add depth. There are rare gems like Freeman, Ohtani that hit for both average and power, but what Arraez loses in power specifically, he more than excels in bat-to-ball skills, working the count, very few swings and misses, and RARE strikeouts.

Having Kim batting 9th in the lineup. He's struggling now but that lineup is deep. Just need pitching depth

Immediately fixed the DH issue with the Padres and makes the lineup deeper.

Sounds like these guys can’t be happy that the mastermind AJ preller won this trade for a steal. Ontop of that, he made the marlins pay off his contract down to a league minimum. AJ is a crazy SOB. Don’t know how he pulled this off 😂

Marlins as always, three years away from being three years away

As a Padres fan, I like the trade. But the Marlins got some players with some serious upside although they didn't make the cut out of Spring Training... The Arizona Fall League MVP of 2023 which almost guarantees he'll be promoted some day(see past AFL MVP ), a reliever star of the Korean Baseball league, and a couple AA prospects that also might not be that far from the majors. I'm guessing the Marlins are trading Arraez for at least 3 of the 4 players making the big league club within 2 years. Can't know if they'll be more than solid players but there is a chance at least a couple of them can be exceptional. Maybe not Arraez level, but still considered special.

Love the show but can Kratz look up information before he starts yapping ? Darvish pitch counts low because he just came off the IL and we’re in MAY and musgrove just went to IL Also lol Darvish ended up going 5 shutout yesterday 😂

Its a great pick up for the padres without a doubt, but no one is really mentioning that the padres have no bullpen! No offense to the guys that are there, but its the reality. Whats the point of having a good offense if there is a good chance you hand it to the pen and they blow a W here and there, idk....

There needs to be more early season trades. I remember the '84 Cubs season being made on the early June trade for Rick Sutcliffe, who went 16-1 for Chicago. He won the CYA and the Cubs finished first...

The trade is really good and helpful but if manny, tatis and bogarts don’t perform like superstars it won’t matter!

Preller gave the Sox Thorpe and other prospects for Cease. Thorpe was Minor league pitcher of the year last year and is 5-1 with a 1.00 ERA so far at AA this year.

This hurts all the MLB, this is why the dodgers had star wars night on Monday versus the Marlins so they can have better attendance instead of May the 4th when the dodgers were at home versus the Braves. Horrible teams do damage to the brand with lower attendance and less eye balls on the sport.

Big question are Arraez/Machado/Bogaerts going to be ok with platooning DH? Cronenworth and Kim you lose defense by DH them But its a very Preller video game type trade

man, i was pitching a Bryan Woo and 2 prospects for Arraez for the M's during the last off season. This makes me think the M's could have gotten Arraez for less than what I thought once they assessed their own team one month into the season. Head and Go are not worth the same as say Woo and Locklear. Also, aren't the Marlins barred from having a top 10 draft pick this year due to having one in each of the past 2 years?

With all due respect to Arraez who's a fine player, I don't know how he's gonna do what Juan Soto couldn't. Neither of them are great defensive players and who's the more impact hitter? I think I'll take Soto.

The marlins are like the A’s with a ballpark, forever in moneyball mode. If they don’t make the playoffs like the Os did last year than they’ll never make it.

How does Preller keep getting away with this

luis is perfect for the padres gets on base all the time and more importantly it gets wade out of the lineup.... anything less then its a perfect fit for the padres is a bad take
