Thankfully there are many Christian supportive of Israel (45:50), but Rabbi Tovia Singer has noted that all the Church fathers saw the Jews as enemies of God (in his video _Did Jews Deliberately Hide Isaiah 53, Daniel & Zechariah?)._
@johnruby1363

Rabbi Tovia is wrong! The vast majority of supporters for Jews and Israel are Christians. If ALL the church fathers were against Jews, then there would be zero supporters. Yes, the early Catholics were against the Jews, though we need to understand why? Try to understand the historical grievances. The "Mamilla Pools" massacre is one example.

The interpretation that Deuteronomy 23:25 applies to anyone, rather than specifically to workers, comes from the broader context and intent of the Mosaic Law, which includes provisions for the welfare of the community and the care of the needy. Here are some key points supporting this interpretation: 1. Context of the Law: The Mosaic Law contains several provisions that explicitly care for the poor, the traveler, and those in need. For instance, Leviticus 19:9-10 and Deuteronomy 24:19-21 instruct landowners to leave the corners of their fields unharvested and to leave behind gleanings for the poor and the sojourner. This demonstrates a general principle of allowing those in need to gather food from others’ fields. 2. No Mention of Workers: Deuteronomy 23:25 does not specify that the permission to pluck grain is limited to workers. The language used is general and does not restrict the act to a specific group of people. 3. Parallels with Other Laws: Other laws in the Mosaic code, such as the one found in Leviticus 19:9-10, are clearly aimed at providing for the poor and the stranger, indicating that the community’s resources were to be shared with those in need. 4. Cultural and Historical Interpretation: Historical and rabbinic interpretations often view this provision as part of the broader social safety net. Jewish tradition has long held that these laws were designed to ensure that no one went hungry, including travelers and those not employed in the field. In summary, the general and inclusive language of the law, combined with the broader context of similar provisions in the Mosaic Law, supports the interpretation that Deuteronomy 23:25 was intended to allow anyone in need, not just workers, to pluck grain by hand to satisfy their hunger.

Healing is not “work”. It is not forbidden on the Sabbath.Jesus Christ healing the sick on the Sabbath was to remind people of why God instituted the Sabbath day of rest. The Sabbath was meant to benefit people as much as to glorify God.The Sabbath helped people recuperate mentally and physically after a week of work and redirect their focus from the daily routine to God. Jesus Christ's healing on the Sabbath was therefore very much compatible with God’s purpose for the Sabbath.

After 1,000 of them were mercilessly killed by a bunch of pagan idolaters, the Maccabees figured it would be best to defend themselves on Shabbos. However, they didn't go out and start any battles on Shabbos. If the fight was brought to them on Shabbos, then they'd fight. But if there was no fight being brought to them on Shabbos, the Maccabees rested on Shabbos. Sometimes you have to aid your fellow man on Shabbos, especially if that fellow man is a fellow Jew. Breaking a mitzvah to keep other mitzvot.

@ruth4019 - Amen !! Well Spoken sister. I would just add that the Sabbath is NOT about "NOT doing work", it is about realizing that God has ALREADY DONE ALL THE WORK. Adam & Eve entered the Garden on the "Day of Rest', AFTER GOD had done ALL THE WORK. And Jesus has ALREADY done ALL THE WORK regarding the New Covenant and for our "spiritual" lives, "It is FINISHED". (John 19:30). Even God in Ezekiel 36 & Jeremiah 31 reveals that the New Covenant is 100% HIS WORK & 0% "mans' work.

Maybe Rabbi forgot that an average Ox weighs up to 4,000 pounds. And the animal had to be helped out of a ditch on Shabbat. How many jews with no power equipment did it take to bring up those oxen? Many, and it is a Mitvah! A nursing cow, goat, sheep who had her calf slaughtered had to be milked on Shabbat and not left in pain of lactation. It is a mercy. How much more a child of God suffering on the Sabbath in a physical burden?

Deuteronomy 23:26 When you enter another man’s field of standing grain, you may pluck ears with your hand; but you must not put a sickle to your neighbor’s grain. Deut 23:25 When you enter another man’s vineyard, you may eat as many grapes as you want, until you are full, but you must not put any in your vessel. The Torah is clear that plucking grain to eat while walking and not loading vessels or using sickles is not harvesting but rather a mercy Hashem bestows on his children. The Talmud confirms a passerby is not a laborer. Talmud Bava Metzia 92a “Isi ben Yehuda says that with regard to the verse: “When you come into your neighbor’s vineyard then you may eat grapes until you have enough at your own pleasure” (Deuteronomy 23:25), the verse is speaking of the entry of any person who passes alongside a vineyard, not only a laborer.”

Rabbi Michael said, "Jesus SEEMS to accept the fact that what his students were doing was problematic". Not so, Jesus CLEARLY said, "The Sabbath was made for man, and NOT man for the sabbath: therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the Sabbath". (Mark 2:27,28).Another CLEAR example of the "Letter" of the Law, (which is dead), being brought to Life by the Spirit, who is the ONLY ONE who can 'interpret" God's Word, and which is the ONLY WAY that 'YOU" can "understand" the Words of God. Jesus is CLEAR, He said, "It is Lawful to do GOOD and NOT EVIL on the Sabbath Day". What don't you understand about that ? It is the same with the NEW REVELATION that Jesus brought regarding "Adultery", which does NOT "contradict" the 10 Commandments, but is only an "extension" of understanding the "root" cause of "Adultery", that it starts and is "consummated" in the "HEART", NOT in the "physical" act, because the real "YOU" is the "spirit", NOT the "body", which is only the "house" you live in.

If Shabbos is merely a day that it is prohibited to do evil, that does not tell us much, since doing evil is prohibited everyday. That doing evil is prohibited on Shabbos, does not tell us anything unique about Shabbos from any other day. The fact that it is prohibited to do evil any day, means the acts that are prohibited on Shabbos are not evil, but can be good to do on a different day of the week, which means there are things that are good to do but not good to do on Shabbos. There are some good things that are not to be done on Shabbos. The New Testament is not the standard to rely on. The Torah is the standard. If there is a question, Deut 17 says to follow the judges, they have transmitted to us what G-d says is prohibited or not on Shabbos. NT Jesus was not a judge of Israel, he has no authority to act against the rulings of the court. NT Jesus violates Torah and tells others to violate Torah. Such as telling men it is ok to choose to not fulfill the mitzvah of be fruitful and multiply

Which ones did he not say? These gospels were written decades later, John maybe 50 years. How can you say "Jesus said" as if we really know? Now according to NT scholar Bart Ehrman he thinks some things he probably said, some he probably didn't, using historical science. I don't think we even were able to piece together any full gospel till hundreds of years later, at least 150 from what I understand.

Jesus never wrote anything because He said, "If I bear witness of myself, my witness is not true." (John 5:31) Also, the scriptures say, "Let another man praise thee, and NOT THINE OWN MOUTH; a stranger, and NOT THINE OWN LIPS." (Proverbs 27;2) So Jesus had to FULFILL ALL SCRIPTURES. This has nothing to do with the Sabbath, a day upon which a devout Jew would not even do this.

@@MichaelSkobac, I cannot find anything in the Talmud's Yoma 85b which says anything like "the Son of Man is lord of the Sabbath." Can you please explain this? As I have mentioned for Mark 2 and Matthew 12, Yoma 85b mentions the words of Exodus 31:13-14 & 16 as justifications that "Shabbat is given into your hands, and you are not given to it to die on account of Shabbat," but Jesus' followers were not about to die. Again, I have to totally disagree with Rabbi Yonatan, Rabbi Yehuda, and others in Yoma 85b, as they completely skip the end of verse 14 as well as all of verse 15 which states, "Whoever does any work [מְלָאכָה] on the Sabbath day shall be put to death." (Nobody, especially Jesus, seems to bring up the case where God told Moses, Aaron & the "all the congregation" to put to death the guy who simply gathered sticks on the Sabbath. [see Numbers 15:32-36] Was that melakah, or was it avodah?) While I believe in forgiveness & that "God will forgive" is a common statement I hear Orthodox Jews saying when I see them violating the commandments, it seems clear that just like with Christians eating pork & other un-kosher food & ignoring the commanded feasts (as well as distorting them to be ceremonies like Communion designed to worship himself,) Jesus is totally encouraging his followers to violate the commandment not to work on the Sabbath, and is therefore doing exactly what he said he would not do -- i.e. "abolish" the commandments. Just because a group of Rabbis writing the Talmud between 450 and 550 CE used the same manner of left-wing thought as Jesus does not mean it is consistent with the Torah as commanded by God & written by Moses. The Talmud is supposed to be a "study," and sometimes, important issues are danced around & totally missed. My main question is, should we be obeying the "Oral Torah" if it violates the clear message of the literal Torah? (I still remember the scene in "Schindler's List" when Itzhak Perlman eats an egg on the Sabbath, because it's the only food he can be sure is kosher. Why didn't he just say he didn't want to die, and eat lots of un-clean food & then tell everyone to get back to work? This is certainly the ideology Jesus seems to be encouraging. Plus, he goes one step further in claiming either himself, or all of Christianity to be "Lord of the Sabbath." Notice that Jesus isn't dealing with whether we should or shouldn't have a blue stripe in our garments, nor is he debating whether a yarmulke should be worn in the synagogue -- he goes straight for the Sabbath, destroys God's commandment for a writ of divorcement, and even encourages men to make themselves eunuchs, in violation of Deuteronomy 23:1/23:2 in a Jewish Bible.) This raises a simple question that I would ask to all the Rabbis -- are we supposed to obey the Rabbis, or are we supposed to obey God? I think this is the TRUE test of the Christian Bible, and I think both Jews & Gentiles have been failing at it. Jesus also destroys the first of the 10 Commandments ("You shall have no other gods before me,") a total blasphemy, which when combined with the Book of John is a direct attack on Judaism. I am very glad that around the 32:20 mark, you mentioned the fact that whoever wrote the gospels is constantly being Anti-Judasim & Anti-Semitic. Please keep up the great work, and I really hope you dive deeper into the real motivations behind all this.

💐💐💐💐 I am not a Christian, I am member of the Bahai Faith. If Jesus was sent by God to deliver a new covenant then he had every right to change anything he deemed as necessary as God had commanded him, just as Moses was sent by God and he changed and renewed many of the old traditions that both Noah and Abraham had revealed in their own dispensations. Was not the covenant revealed to Noah entirely different than the covenant revealed to Abraham? And how vast the difference was between the covenant given to Abraham as suppose to Moses? Was not Moses in turn told that another new covenant will come after him? So why be surprised of the new framework that Jesus revealed through God? why be afraid of the word "new"? God's religion is one single entity which is ever-evolving by God. The school of God is one single school but with many diverse teachers and different grades; each grade has a different curriculum with different teachers. These differences are not divisions, but necessary needs in order to develop capacity. The religion of God is the same thing.

If you watched the Rabbi's presentation, you would see that Jesus wasn't introducing anything new, but confirming what the Pharisees regarded as the correct interpretation of the Torah. Ezekiel 37:24 also says that Israel will keep the Torah under the headship of the Messiah. The new covenant does not do away with what came before.

I'm not a Greek NT fan, as they are truth mixed with untruths, the simple answer to the marquee question is that the Sabbath is a picture of the future Messianic Kingdom age. Jesus (the Prince of the Messianic Kingdom, ruling under God), is "l"ord of the Sabbath, and he will heal Messianic Israel and the nations at that time. As the 2nd Moses, who has the authority to enact/retract the commandments of Moses, Jesus has the authority to change what Moses enacted. The narratives of the healing and the grain (sustenance) are pictures of the future Messianic age. In the "grain" narrative, it can be interpreted that the disciples (the poor) fall into the category of those in Lev 23:22 and were eating from the 4 corners of the field. If the Sabbath is a picture of the Messianic Kingdom age (to which mankind will return to the pre-Flood state of vegetarianism), God will provide the means of sustenance which will be free to those who need it. The grain in the corners of the field.....Lev 23:22 left for the poor....Ebionites (the poor).

God gave the Big 10 set in stone (written by his own finger), and Moses (who had the authority), being a Prophet who had the Spirit of Prophecy and Discernment, gave the rest of the minor commandments to curb the Egyptianized Israelites' desire to commit idolatry, by a strict authorative regimen. Jesus retained the Big 10 and all of the Mosaic Commandments (except for the "blood" and animal sacrificial commandments). Jesus replaced the "blood" and animal sacrifices with "water baptism" for the remission of sins (to the same effect). So, it really wasn't a removal...just a replacement. You said; "What ?? So you must be saying that God DID NOT give Moses the Laws he "enacted" right ??" My reply: Refer to the first reply.
