I had mixed feelings about Luke being so angry that he pushed Jess into the lake. On one hand he was acknowledging that Jess had gotten to him, but on the other hand... what you said about Jess realizing that Luke gave a damn about Jess. Beautiful.

Yup I think this too. When he brought Rory here she asked why here and he said that he's made good memories here. So it's definitely cuz when Luke pushed him in it was the first time someone showed that they cared.

And tbh I think that's why she finds him so difficult to deal with - Lorelai doesn't like dealing with difficult things, and seeing someone who reminds her of herself so much is too much for her to cope with, so she just freezes him out. There's a huge difference between being a parent figure and being a parent. Anyone can be a parent biologically like Christopher, but being a parent figure means actually being there for the kid and giving advice/having a genuine relationship. That's why Paris, lane, Jess, and Rory had to come to Luke/Lorelei, they weren't getting that treatment at home

Jess was in the show during season 2-4 and 6, his comment most likely described the period of season 2-4. Season 4 came out in 2003, i am pretty sure WiFi wasn't a big thing during that time, maybe just maybe it existed but most definately not in Stars Hollow of all places.

This was a clip from Gilmore Girls: A year in the life, so it was in 2016 when there was wifi.
