Always appreciate how you just show the practicality and capability of the GH5 for real world professional results. Even with all the new cameras popping up in the wild, GH5 still holds it’s own. When I felt another camera for added production value was in order late last year, picked up the GH5II without hesitation. Zero regrets, It’s noticeably sharper, and even better in low-light. Like yourself, I never really had an issue with low-light in the first place. Mostly use fast glass between f0.95 - 1.8, my slowest being f2.8 (all native). Since I have found using the M.Zuiko Pro 40-150mm/2.8 not so cumbersome, I decided to give the pair of 1.7 zooms a go (recent price drops influenced decision heavily), as my first Lumix/Leica lenses, so far worth it… Have you ever felt temped to go with any of the native lenses, In the terms of quality what do you feel like you would be giving up by doing so, or is it just cost prohibitive..? …
@@codythep Well my friend, if you have been keeping up with Ryan Harris’s channel, he films in low light quite often, and has very usable footage… Panasonic currently have the fastest zoom lenses in production, the “Lumix G Leica DG Vario-Summilux 10-25mm/f1.7 and the 25-50mm/f1.7.” The optical elements stringently adhered to Leica engineering specifications, and certified by Leica AG. The electronic and motorized components are designed in Japan by Lumix, and the lenses themselves I believe are assembled in China. So basically the pair covers a 35mm FOV of 20-100mm @ 1.7 which is essentially like having a complete set of primes in only two lenses, with native functionality, EXIF, and AF if needed. Previously I used/still the M.Zuiko Pro Digital ED 12-40mm/f2.8 and the 40-150mm/f2.8 (24-300mm), and they work fabulously well too. If there is a need for even lower light situations, I would turn to a set of f1.2 M.Zuiko Pro Digital ED primes, the 17mm (35mm) and the 45mm (90mm). There is a 25mm (50mm)/f1.2 that completes the set, but Leica also has a 25mm/f1.4 that rates slightly better in IQ, and I have not quite made up my mind which one. In the meantime, I get by with the Voigtlander Nokton 25mm/f0.95 in a pinch if need be… Plus, both Leica’s technically have 25mm redundantly… …
Ive seen only 8bit and its enough :D you need to step up if you are doing masterclass for GH5. Zebras also for best skintones is around 60% other things 95%. I dont know why are people afraid of noise iam shooting weddings and 2000iso look fine even 2500iso is usable and not even shooting in 4k .. You dont need extra clean image without any noise :) not a fan of cined or vlog on gh5 (when there is no enough light) shooting on custom portrait profile is the way :) cined is always giving me hard time to color grade properly and iam using it for 4 years
Variable frame rate doesn’t record audio. The video would be much better if you explained why you chose your video settings rather than going through the settings as quickly as possible.
