Well I have both the Lx 7 and the Lx 10. There is little to choose between them, much the same size but of course the Lx 10 has 20 mega pixels. The Lx 7 needs a lot to beat it for basic photography !
Great video! Love that there’s lots of sample photos and video of what exactly you’re describing. Keep it up. As for the camera, I wish it had a mic input and a hotshoe mount, but I may be asking too much...
Great review! I also considered the LX10 but eventually got the G7X II as it was cheaper from where I live and that extra range might find itself useful in certain situations (100m at tele vs 72mm for the LX10).
does this have clean hdmi? also no auto shutoff when connected to a power source? I am trying have 4k while leaving the camera on to capture it on a computer (for streaming and not recording)
Would you recommend this for gig videos? - If I were to have a few of these to capture live music events, would these get better results under the challenging lighting of gigs than go pro's etc. I am not a professional film maker, I work in sound but would like reasonable and reliable video capability for promo purposes, without having to borrow insanely expensive DSLR. Any alternative recommendations?
From what I read from a couple of owners of the LX10, there is more sharpness in stills at the long end than there is with the Sony RX100 lV. Have you compared the two and what was your conclusion?
I'm thinking about buying the LX10 (for photos, don't care about videos) but can't help but wonder that it's way behind mobile phones with algorithms like Google's HDR+ or Night Sight. I mean, I can take photos in dark places where I will absolutely have to use a tripod with the LX10. Dynamic range is also better on the phone with HDR+ stacking images in one click.. What does the LX10 has then? Better details when you crop, narrower DOF , better handling/controls and lastly - zoom. Now..because of what I mentioned I even thought that maybe I should just get a TZ100 or TZ200...Phones do not have such zoom so it should give the camera more reasons to exist :)
Whoa! You sound like you would rather a compact point and shoot with optical zoom - but want the AI processing that Google brings to its Pixel phones. If you're a gun at post editing, then get a camera with the feature you specified and edit in post (photo stack, pull detail out manually, shoot in raw, etc). If you're into photography, getting a camera for good/great pics is a must. I like my mobile for candid stuff, and I've promised myself a Pixel 4 (depending upon what specs it has), but that said, I can't not have a real camera.
I researched P&S 1" cameras for probably 4 months before I pulled the trigger on the LX10/15. They ALL have their annoyances from the sounds of it, so I picked the one that I thought would annoy me the least. lol The cost, and the fact that Panasonic is currently extending the warranty to 3 years free of charge, along with what the camera could do of course, made me buy the LX10/15. I bought mine new from B&H for less than 600 U.S. with a 32gb card and goofy carrying case. EVERYONE BUNDLES... 😂
@@chrisvanderstock So far so good! I have a 2 week trip to FL coming up in a month with the family. THAT will be its true test. I ordered an ND filter and mag attachment kit for it as well.
