Luna pays a visit to her old castle to take a look at her past.

Here is the animatic for what has been known for a few months as "Moonbow".
With this project I wanted to follow another angle of Luna's character. I wanted to follow her struggle as an alicorn meant for greatness and elegance but still being weak and insignificant and to show her finally finding closure with her past rather than her fall to darkness.

I would love to see this animated... I have a question is this a 3D project like SFM or 2D and i would love to see something like children of the night in this if you could do this its will be so awesome

It's good to see "big production" in the fandom still. Gives me inspiration to keep going on our own things over here. Otherwise well done Minty, glad to see you took some of DuoCartoonist's advice like a gentleman. It's more admirable to see a person listen to insight and go far from that than having a egotistical "my way or the highway" approach.

That was beautiful! I'd love to see this, if nothing else, in full color. But at the same time, I'd like to see more of those Dinky adventures, or whatever its called. Been too long. But hey, don't rush it.

There are elements I love from both animatics. There are a few things I like more from the other one, but this definitely has its story filled out. Though the story from the other felt a tad more heart breaking ( which I die for ) Haha But beautiful non the less! You're getting so much done!

As it is nicely done , now I understand why you were gone so long . I'll always be with you until the end of your creation , I'll wait for this beautiful video that durodola me to tears . I really like it than the previous one . It has more heat and those moments that bring you to tears. This is the best I've seen in my life , especially because she teaches us to forget the past and go in front. Thank you for the beautiful creation that he gave us !

This is one of my favorite songs in the fandom. Thank you for animating it. It looks beautiful! (before you ask, yes, I know it's an animatic. But it's easy for me to imagine what the real animation would be like.) I'd also like to mention the song you chose for the credits. It's not just among my favorite songs ever. It *is,* in fact, at the very top of my list.

Strangest thing, when I started watching the animatic I suddenly had an image of the throne room of the Castle of the Two Sisters with a sleeping Luna at the foot of Celestia's throne. Not in submission, but as a form of regret linked back to their past when Luna would fall asleep next to her older sister because Luna always felt a sense of comfort in her presence. Not sure where that came from or what to do with it but figured I'd share in case someone wanted to run with it.

What happened to the animation with Dinky? I looked forward to that. :( Please don't tell me the idiots ganged up on you again..... If that really happened again, you really need to learn to ignore them, to stand up against them and to not give a shit if they don't shut up. You can't allow them to constantly change your vision for something and to simplify your style so that even the ones with the lowest IQ will get it. You shouldn't dumb your animations down for them. The complexity of your stories and their typical vagueness is your strength, Minty Root. Don't give that up for people who think you are their personal entertainment machine. You might get lesser views if you stick to your special visions, but those will come from people who are all the more valuable then.

Between Autodesk Maya and Blender 2.71, are they technically the same? I like the way how you did in "Dinky's Destiny" for sweeping camera when Dinky runs away from Nightmare Moon or the Canterlot CG model in "Project Thundercloud II".

I'd say Maya is more advanced, but it's more of a mess to work with. The reason why I did the switch was that my school teaches me Maya so it's easier to also do my fan projects using Maya. Project Thundercloud used the legacy Blender renderer while Luna's Determination is done using Arnold by Solid Angle, a much more advanced renderer that uses a physically based approach to light instead of cheating phenomenons. As for that pan when Dinky runs away from Nightmare Moon, the whole thing was done entirely in Flash using some camera tricks to make it feel 3D.

Minty Root Wow. I didn't know that. Speaking of rendering. I have several Adobe software (especially After Effects) in my laptop, and I was trying to render quickly. Is there a way to speed up the render quickly? Maybe you have something that you might be able to help me?

Artist Creations Pictures, Inc. After Effects need a good amount of RAM to work better, so closing down other apps can be helpful, and getting a scratch disk to cache can be helpful too.
