@@jakemackey4059 SINCE 2020? I am not sure. Most dope albums since 2020 have been pre-existing artists who have been around long before 2020. I would say the most intellectual artist right now, who is consistently active, is Oddisee.
This is a re upload to fit in with "RU-vids policies" Where do you rate Lupe amongst the greats? Is he the best lyricism ever? This man deserves all of his flowers 💐
He’s easily the best. No other rap albums ever made compare to tetsuo and youth and drogas wave. I am a world literature aficionado. He is more Balzac than he is Nas.
@@ishaking6278 for starters , if hes not the best rapper to you that’s only YOUR opinion , not a fact clown. You look & sound goofy . I’m not gonna argue with a mf who probably doesn’t even understand half Lupe’s music anyway. Argue with ya mom kid 💀
@@LurkartiistI breakdown Lupe's music you stupid. You are mixing shits up saying that Lu is the best rapper while saying that the whole vid is about Lu being the best lyricist, that shows who real stupid here is. Go learn the difference between "a rapper" & "a lyricist" before you call someone else "goof".
I'm a 45 year old student of KRS-One and rap music as a whole. And I can EASILY say Lupe is THE GREATEST lyricist in rap music history. And I say that with Love and respect to all the OG's of rap. But Lupe is just on a different level of lyricism. He's THE Apex-Lyricist.
at the time that the Control verse dropped, Lupe might have been the best lyricist to ever touch a mic. but that was 10 years ago. both Kendrick and Eminem have evolved since then, and if he hasn't been keeping up privately, he can't even be in the discussion anymore. Dot & Em, in that order. i don't know who's 3rd.
Well good thing Lupe has kept up cause he has also evolved and still one of the top lyricist. I put him over Em and Dot lyrically. Lupe is on tour with his new album and droppin loosies. Saying "if he hasn't been keeping up privately, he can't even be in the discussion anymore." is insane to me cause there are Lupe tracks from 10 years that neither Em or Dot have touched lyrically imo. I dont even think Dot needs or wants to be that complex or abstract of a lyricist anyway
Lupe would smoke Kendrick so bad .....that nobody would realize Kendrick lost except Kendrick himself for 7 years. Or however long it took Rapgenius to decipher it.
He's not my favorite. He's in my top five: Tupac, Kanye, Kendrick, Mos Def and Lupe. However when it comes to lyricism nobody comes within a country mile of Lupe. Shout out to Andre 3000 and Lil Wayne and Luda too.
@@fnrandom4870kanye should always be in the convo for creating the most appealing music in history and having the best discography that any rapper would want
Kanye has definitely had one of the most interesting careers. Shout out to the Might Mos aka Yasiin Bey. Once K Dot ends Drake’s career, I think he’ll solidify himself as one of the GOATs. Tupac is the face of west coast hip hop.
@@martinlutherdaiiireloaded250 naturally! Nas is the best rapper and also has the most longevity. Maybe if Kendrick and Kanye are still recording in 2040. But I feel like Kendrick will retire and do occasional features like Andre 3000 after he ends Drake.
