Excellent build... Many thanks... You really are a master. For those who are not wood workers, the brad point drill bits cut extremely cleanly by first centering the bit with the center point and then cutting the outside diameter with spurs... The cut then moves inward to remove the wood. Normal metal twist bits cut from the center toward the outside... This gives a fluffy cut where the bit is cutting into the grain of the wood. Then for those of you, who, like myself, do not want to be exposed to molten lead fumes, I mix small diameter lead shot (from shotgun reloading supplies) with epoxy and thus fill my ballast holes without losing my mind.
One of my favourite baits to fish. Fun to cast and retrieve and it doesn’t get more exciting then a fish hitting a topwater. Love the classic colour, my first fish on a lure was a on a red and white jitterbug, been hooked ever since.
I would love to know more about your boat I love to see some catch and cooks I've never seen a Xander in the United States so it's kind of interesting to know more about that fish Probably the most important detail on how to make a lure I learned from you was to use clamps to press the wire in to market for gouging. Great videos thank you
Flawless work as ever 👍 our closed season starts tomorrow 🇬🇧 (Monday) so I'm going to be busy making a few top water lures ready for the start of the new season in June, upto now I haven't made any top waters so I'm looking forward to the journey, thank you for the inspiration 😀
Thanks I will, this will be my second only season of lure making, I want to up my game on the painting side now and develop my own style 😎 Last years efforts 😬 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-rtvCG6vinYc.html
These are spectacular…….Pay no attention to the comments you have received about your accent. Those people are overlooking that you doing these videos in English is a gift.
For screw eyes in soft wood, it doesn't matter as much about the hardness, as it does the tensile strength of the wood. The tensile strength is what keeps the screw eye in if you glue it correctly.
Great video! I am trying to get into lure making and I was wonder where you get your screw eyes? None of the hardware stores seem to have long screw eyes
I was thinking the same thing. Maybe one of the individuals that gave a thumbs down can explain. I would like to see one of these being fished and getting crushed by a big striped bass.
Id personally save the fire tiger tutorial for the patreon members. Id love to see it myself but am not a patreon member yet. But in that same sentence a guy has bills and food to put on the table. And well the patreon members go that extra mile by being patreon members they deserve that extra little bit of behind the scenes content. 😊👍👌
Hi, Mikko. I LOVED the surprise Finnish intro-no matter what you were saying. (Given your sense of humor, I shudder to think.). But the big, gorgeous "walk-the-dog" surface darter was even better. This type of lure-whether a factory Zara Spook or a handmade version-is my go-to choice for locating striped bass in the coastal waters where I fish. Speaking of salt water, is there any chance you would consider putting on your list of future "builds" an 18-23cm, three-segment, lipless, hard-body swimbait/wakebait that would run at or just below the surface, raising significant V waves on top? My choice would be an Atlantic herring for its relatively slim profile and, especially, its universal appeal to EVERY saltwater prey species (and many freshwater species, too). I'm working on such a lure in my shop now, but I know it will never come close to what you could produce. I've said it a dozen times before, but your skills continue to set the standard for lure-makers everywhere, including me, and I'm grateful for that.
hi your work is fantastic .. I give you a little tip .. for your airbrush remove the head and you will do smaller details much finer lines and perfect headless points. you work very well congratulations..thumbs up !!!
Thanks for watching the video. I have been painting without the needle protector thingie for as long as i have been airbrushing, bend quite a few needles during that time 😜
Is it better to use a band saw with gloves in hand or with frozen fingers 🤔 when my fingers are stiff from the cold, It might not be the first thing use a band saw.
What do you think about forstener bits? I used to use brad point bit i find forstener is much better, especially when drilling big, deep holes (such as for making rattle chambers) as the brad point bit flutes clog up with wood. Forstener doesn't have that problem. I also find they make way cleaner holes than brad point. Is there a reason you use brad point?
Honestly for the gloves, in my experience, as long as they are a tight fit and not loose, it is perfectly safe to use, you just want to avoid gloves with long threads or fibers
For the wooden mold for led , did you drill the holes first or did you cut the wood in half first? I’m going to try it . Does the type of wood matter? Any type of sealant for it? Sorry for asking too many questions but I really liked that.
The wood for the lead mold was cut first then i just clamped them together and drilled the casting cavity. You want to use hard woods for this purpose the softer types burn unusable pretty fast.
i was just curious because i thought the screw in might not be strong enough for a GT or tuna or something like that and definitely too big to get a strike from a smaller estuary fish. thats only my thoughts tho and very well could be wrong.
So I have an idea iv been thinking about doing my self but u have the experience if you read this but that is to make a lure from the shavings by epoxy them together or something.
@@SolarfallBaits Well, here's the error message I got: "We couldn't find any stores with the name solarsellsbaits. Try searching for something else." What am I doing wrong?
I've had other BPM baits ru-vid.comUgkxCbNOWAGmn6nfbCbJDmasvBq7J38KZNw2 before and they've pretty much always came through for me with the suskie smallies here and even with the walleye and pike, but I realized I didn't have an "in-between" pattern so this junebug one fills that role in no problem. it pairs up magnificently with a junebug Zoom Z-craw Jr that was trimmed a couple millimeters before the hook slots and rigged sideways for that fatter panfish side profile while still being a nice'n'compact presentation, a real power-finesse bait. Hell, it was so pretty I even bothered to fotosketch the pic into a watercolor painting image just to show you it's beauty! Even the blades are really well made, sure, they're not of Hildebrandt-level exquisiteness but look at the bead's reflection on the colorado blade, definitely well-made! The only "problem" spot it had was a bald spot in the skirt but it was nothing that I couldn't easily fix with a but of tuggin'n'shiftin' with the strands for a couple of seconds, besides that it is pretty minty!
