This video is to show how easy it is to make homemade airbrush cleaner and save a lot of money over a period of time thanks for checking out Blind Symmetry Lure Painting I appreciate ya. like 👍, share, comment, and consider subscribing
I do the same, but! I add a quart of fantastic, works great, but for my 90% of liquid cleaner I use is plain water, I use a pump up sprayer, and spray the bowl holding over a container to catch the water. Believe me with the harder paints to clean, this is a life saver, spray as much as you need, easy, cheap and quick!
Benn using straight Windex with ammonia to clean for 11 years for acrylic paint, in all my Iwatas...no better cleaner in my mind. My Iwatas all look brand new except for inside the color cups. bare brass at the bottom, but you will get that over time no matter what cleaner you use simply from wiping with paper towels etc.
I'm sure that will work great, I really like the Glycerin addition. For the past year I've been using windshield washer fluid...alcohol and water. 1 gallon = 32 oz WWF, 8 oz alcohol, fill with water. Also use badger airbrush lube after deep clean.
Thank you for sharing this recipe, Ill be sure to give it a try. Would you consider doing a video share of your spray booth? It looks large and roomy. Thank you. Gary
Thanks for watching Gaey, give the cleaner a try. I'll try and make a video about the spraybooth in the near future, Jeff from Green country made a video about his booth recently and I'd like to wait a little while before I make a similar video. yes, the booth is roomy but, not enough room for me. Stay tuned 🛠
@@BlindSymmetryLurePainting I also seen that video and its a nice setup but your booth seems bigger and being a paraplegic I require a bit more room. Again thank you.
Hi good morning Charlie, I mixed a small amount of it in a little measuring container and when I felt it worked good enough, I just used the same ratio for the gallon jug. If I had to buy cleaner, I couldn't afford this hobby.
I'm sorry to hear that, Big Drew. The only way you could ruin your airbrush is by using an "ammonia" based glass cleaner. Ammonia can destroy chrome. I "did not" recommend ammonia products. I've been using the mix for as long as I've been airbrushing without any issues. Can I ask how the airbrush is ruined ?
@bgdrewshowers7411 . Good morning, Big Drew. Over time alcohol can shorten the lifespan of a rubber o-ring. Replacing O-rings is normal maintenance, and i wouldn't classify an airbrush with bad O-rings as a "ruined" airbrush. Happy to hear you were able the get your airbrushrunning agoan.. Thank you for being part of the lure painting community.
I call bullshit on this one, I've been using windex WITH ammonia in all my iwatas for 11 years and have had ZERO problems with ruined o-rings. Even if the rubber o-rings are shot the airbrush is not ruined, they are easily replaced. You have one in the head assembly, one in your air valve, and one in the handle...if your getting anything in the air valve then you have a worn needle packing screw.
