I’ve used Estée Lauder in the past, but honestly don’t see that it works any better than the drug store BB cream. I do like that you get into the chemical aspects of the make up… it’s something I’ve never researched. Thanks for this series. It’s been interesting

Hey Jodi. Great video. You know I’m not in the market for this price range but if I were I would choose the cle de peau. It looked the best on you imo. Don’t take that wrong, the TF side looked great too. When you popped in on the first part of the video your hair looked fabulous. And the blouse, what little I could see, is beautiful. When you do a video on the oil & water/foundation & concealer will you explain how to know from the ingredients list which one it is? I need some clarification. If it has dimethicone or silicone it’s water based, correct? Thanks again Jodi. I appreciate you so very much! 💖

Hi Lisa. It's that triple barrel curling iron, I just love it :). As for the water based question, if the first few ingredients have water/aqua as well as a -methicone, -siloxane or -cone then it's silicone based. If those -cone ingredients are listed several ingredients down (ingredients are listed in their order from greatest amount to least) then it's water based. I hope that helps clarify it for you.

@@JodiMannes actually I have been using Illusion Hourglass shell, and I realize for many that is not a actual foundation...works better than what I have found. Thinking about splurging on that one Cle de Peau , for when I do where a foundation. I follow Elle Leary too. Loved your presentation. We shall see if I can bring myself to try again a foundation. Bc I have crease and thin face, so difficult for me to find foundation, and not a tint. Thank you for bringing up the glasses. I may try the Cle de Peau? If I spelled wrong oops. And I really believe in skin care am and pm. To me that is more important than a foundation, as odd as that sounds. All ways have had trouble with foundations..Thank you for 3 days . You look young to me ? Lol ❤❤Thank you, fly unlike the lighter foundation on you . But it's your face .

The cle de peau that you mention in the tube and the concealer, I don’t recall but would those work for oily in t zone skin?

which one is more radiant? I have the Tom fors foundation, and love the finish but after an hour it always does something weird in my pores and looks very makeupy, and the glow is gone .

I was more impressed with the overall look and longterm wear, including the satin finish, of the Cle de Peau. (which was not the outcome I expected, because I've loved the FT for years)

Both of these foundations surprised me with the finish. They did't look shiny, satin, nothing like that. With a setting powder, either of these would look matte. If you like a more medium coverage, the Cle de Peau cream in the tube might be one to try!

Hi. I prefer Dior's Forever Matte foundation over the new YSL All Hours. I'm more neutral to cool and found the YSL shades, and I tried several of them, too warm and patchy. If you haven't tried the Dior Matte, it's a beautiful foundation with medium/buildable coverage.

It’s been about that length of time since I used it too. I would describe it as a clean looking foundation meaning that it still looked great at the end of the night. I never felt like my makeup looked like it was falling off my face! I then switched back to bare minerals mineral foundation one summer and never went back. I would love to try La Mer again, but need to get to a store a get a foundation match for that price.

I used La Mer for a couple of years and loved it but tried other things like you do 😂 I got a sample of it in store, to see if I still liked it and fell in love again. It’s expensive but you only need a tiny bit.

I think the Cle de Peau side looks much better. The Tom Form side just doesn't look good to me. Perhaps it's the shade? The Tom Ford side looks very "muddy", whereas the Cle de Peau side looks more even and bright. Perhaps it was the sculpting that ruined the look. I think it just makes my face look dirty, so I never use it, and I think that's what may have contributed to the muddy look on the Tom Ford side. It doesn't matter, though, because I can't justify the cost of either one of them. LOL

That could be the Colour. When I assess a foundation I usually seek patches, crease, Crack, oil, imperfection etc. Colour would be last because if you really want it. You can mix 2 foundation to get the right Colour. But you can't change the formula.

Wow, almost $200 foundation! I’m happy for the few of you to get to see this reviewed so you can spend your $200 wisely. The remainder of us are struggling and trying to figure out how to just get by. I’m sick and tired of seeing these channels push this type of thing when the majority of their followers couldn’t obtain these products if they wanted to.
