Wow, that's the most information I've found on how the box awnings operate and mount on the internet. I'm building/ rebuilding/ upgrading a 1989 Fleetwood Limited 37J and am thinking of putting box awnings on it to give it a smoother look and hide the roof mounted solar panels I'm building. When I'm done, it will have a full-length Globe Trekker style aluminum rub rails all across the roof like a giant roof rack. These box awnings will clean up the sides of the coach really nicely. And I've always wanted a drivers side awning to shade all the windows, because I have never liked the look of the OEM individual window pull down awnings with their non areobynamic side braces. I've already repower my Old Girl from a gasser Ford motor and 3 speed C6 to a 400 HP 12 valve 5.9L Cummins and Allison 1000 transmission with it's stand alone computer. (TCM) Gutted most of the interior and redoing / upgrading it to look like a more modern high end coach. What can I say? It's a Hobby! When I get it done, I'll be swinging by arizona to say Hi. (And my Sister In Law lives near you.....) I've been digging through your old videos and learning a lot of new tricks. Thanks a million!

My C/S front awning suddenly developed retract issues when we press the button for it to come in - right after the anometers were replaced on the roof of our 04 Marathon. This is helpful and will show it to our techs. We managed to get it in when we removed the Girard cover and pressed on the wire while my wife pushed the button.

Once again, you remind me why I want to pay an RV tech instead of mucking about with things I don’t know about.

We have a Carefree box awning on our 2017 Holiday Rambler Vesta 31U (Class C), the LED light strip no longer works. I enjoy your videos and your work.

Very timely video. The control board for my drivers side Girard awning is bad and NLA. My tech called Girard to get a replacement/retro and is still working with Girard. I'm sure that they have a replacement but getting one during Covid is an issue. As a general rule of thumb, these awnings are a pain in the rear. All of the time. The wind sensors work until they don't which is very common. Going down the road they are whirling all the time and wearing out. Mine are off. I put the awning in and out manually. Nice awnings but again are a pain in the rear end and costly to maintain. Everything on a bus is costly to maintain. But I still love my Wanderlodge.

How did you know I was about to replace my awening fabric and it's a girard g2000? You're just psychic! 🔮 Like most things on my 2004 coach nobody wants to work on it. Fabric just arrived today and I hope to have it on tomorrow. Thanks 😊

Also, we are replacing the roof top Coleman Mach 8's. They only had black shrouds in stock. These were hard to get anyway most recently. Will the black draw heat into the unit and cause them to overheat? Presently, we have silver on the covers that matches the Marathon H3. White or black will look good since there is a fair amount of black and darker shades on the coach. Also, would be interested in having you consult with me on a slide sensor issue. Many thanks!

Fantastic Video. I have the same awing on Monaco and really love them. My remote suddenly died, any recommendations for a replacement. Research on line appears to indicate the original is no longer available from Girard. Based on recommendations from people who have the in-home shades, I have a Somfy remote to try, but don't see a "teach" button. Have you done a video on how ro replace a failed remote. Your videos are awesome!

Help! 20' Girard 2000 doesn't sit properly in the cassette. Motor side sits flush, opposite side will not align I'm cassette (doesn't sit flush). No wind damage. Can you point me in the right direction?

My awning does not extend completely y flat it goes out and the front half pitches down also it leans sideways on one side and the other almost hits the slideout topper can this be adjusted if so how?

You can make a little bit quicker work of that Allen turning by getting a metal Allen bit in a cordless screwdriver a lightweight cordless variable speed as it's rolling out you turn that puppy around and I don't know?
