Your best to keep the heater on for much longer. Short periods can clog up the heaters with soot. Keep it at a medium flow/heat and then ramp it up before turning off to burn any soot off. Just speaking from experience, jealous of your rig!

Girl, you need a back window cover!!! Asap, why haven’t you invested in those window covering all van lifers use?? And probably something to separate the cab to the back also a curtain. Something to keep your heat in the back area where you both sleep. 😊😊😊❤❤❤

Hey so I’m a HVAC guy and if your air intake is under that floorboard I suspect you run a much greater risk of the heater going into high limit shut off mode. I at least suggest that you move the cold air return to an open space. Not a small enclosed space. Love your channel. Stay warm up there! Sending love from Ohio!

The heater has a thermostat and a setting which is just past the reading on the control of 720 . If you set it on that it will cycle on and off automatically when the heater drops below your desired temp.

You can get auto tape to put over the cracks on the sides of Poe on the inside. Also get some insulation strips to put around your back door.

I am just now discovering your channel and I have to say that I'm loving it!! Quick snow hack that I've learned when it feels like your vehicle is stuck.... I jerk the steering wheel back and forth, left to right to left to right, at a jerky/fast pace. Somehow, that really helps you get just enough traction to move the vehicle. Sometimes you have to do it about twelve sessions in total and other times just once. But it never fails to get you further than being stuck in the snow

Parts for your Defender are available from Atlantic British and Rovers North-if your wipers failed-it’s the wiper motor,usually not the wiper transmission.Parts are not expensive.I don’t know where you live but if you’re on Long Island ever,go to Island Rovers and they’ll take care of any and all issues you may have.They are the best in the business.For real.

Awsome heater. I Live in van expediting. I have chinese diesel heater installed. I have the same buddyheater as backup. Then of course I have a second Chinese heater packed away as a backup to my backup. I tear mine down once a year to clean it. Easy peasie. Put some Rain X on your windshield , I had a friend that had no wipers and the Rain X would make the water just bead right off . It should help some with the snow .

Diesel heaters usually take on low gallon for about 30 to 36 hours on on high 11 hours per gallon.

Just a thought but your diesel heater blowing directly onto your jackery and it’s hookups could have contributed to your wires melting on the jackery. I could be wrong but those diesel heaters can get super hot. Not having a direct outlet for the heat could have contributed to all the carbon build up in the exhaust also, since it’s just trickling out on the inside. Just an idea. Love your videos! I use a small fan to blow the hot air around, you could direct it up into your bed loft, pointing it from the where the heat comes out of that small vent put a fan on the floor pointing up into the top of your Papa. You won’t believe how hot is gonna get up there👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Why don't you get a step bumper on the rear of that thing, and for the love of God, please get a more stable burner, jet boil makes a folding 2 burner unit, go and buy it now...cuz every time you cook now I'm waiting for that pan to dump in your lap or splash in your face because its so unstable and high off the counter...its actually orange so it will match your pan...😅

Just a small piece of advice on running a 300TDI diesel in a Defender.Idle it for at least 3-5 minutes before shutting it down.These engines are turbocharged and oil cools the turbo-when you shut it off-oil flow stops dead.The turbo is cooled by the oil flow from the oil pan and when you shut it off-you cease the oil flow.Turbochargers run 4 times hotter than your water temp-so the coolant may be 200 degrees,but the turbo can get over 1000 degree pulling hard-Idling will save you a turbo.
