LOL - I’d forgotten all about that Carling Black Label snooker ad. Thanks for the memory. Some great ads there. They used to be humorous and enjoyable back then. Nowadays most ads are just dull.
Classic Carling Black Label advert there. Snooker at the time in 1984 had Steve Davis and the emerging young Jimmy White, still playing his trade after more than three decades. An early advert there for London Underground. It was one of a series of adverts during the mid-late 1980s. The classic Penguin advert was revived the following decade when you P-Pick up a 'Person'. Never seen this Hush Puppies one. My best memory of it was 1989 to the tune of 'Puppy Love'.
AND...9.25% interest from a Leeds savings account! Shame that unemployemnt was about 3 million, and mortgage rates were about 15% so no bugger had money to save.
