I have a factory rebuilt O-320 on order for my Musketeer. Looking forward to it. The current situation has raised hell with lead times, but that just means I'll be ready to fly again by spring.

I have 15 hours on my reman io-360 now. Never burned oil. It seemed to be well broken in by the time it shipped.

If the engine is sold as a new, zero time engine why does the time the engine is tested at the factory not count? Or is that just an industry standard that is always taken into account? None of my X Plane aircraft ever need to be overhauled so this is new to me

Because zero time engine means zero legally logged time. It means it does not count towards your 2000 hour overhaul limit. The engines must be overhauled after the airplane has logged 2,000 hours. And part of getting the engine ready for installation is testing it before the certification. Engine time is counted after certification and what they manufacturer does to get it ready to go and certified is not counted.

I need my engine rebuilt/overhauled....it is in my 1973 Citabria....it is a Lycoming O-235 C-1. Does anyone know where I can get my engine overhauled to new specs with new Lycoming cylinders ?
