@@gfgranja Nikki didnt have the guitar skills of Mick to feel a track and lay down a dirty heavy sound..... This band was built around that guitar sound and Sixx's clever songwriting skills. But that guitar sound is what draws you into every Crue Song!
Been playing guitar for 15 years and have been diving into mick’s playing and I’m kicking myself for never really getting into Motley Crue until now lol
The riffs of Mick Mars are what carried the Crue for years. If his back is bent it's from carrying the weight of lesser men for 41 years. He is more of a man than the other 3 put together.
He was a great guitarist I play drums I've been playing drums for 40 years And I have played a lot of Motley Crue songs for many years Tommy Lee deafly influenced me over the years👍 Keep rockin Tommy
Danger is such an underrated song, love the vibe! Other riffs you could have played: Live wire, All in the name of, Dancing on glass, merry go around, Take me to the top, SOS, etc
I was about 18 or 19 when this came out and I remember I thought it was f****** awesome Everybody in the neighborhood played guitar or was in some sort of local band and Motley Crue was a breath of fresh air
do Mick Mars solos next, nobody ever talks about how badass the solos are. hella bluesy with hints of harmonic minor and a lot of pinch harmonics. love that man
Mick's tone and rhythm work is spectacular. His lead stuff was alright, not technically superior, but still, many his solos were memorable-- especially Take Me to the Top, the outro to Starry Eyes, Too Young to Fall In Love, Fight For Your Rights, Home Sweet Home and Smokin In the Boys Room.
Killer jams. I had just started playing when Shout At The Devil came out. Was a VERY cool time to be a guitar playing teenager. I graduated in '87. I saw the very first video MTV played. MTV sucks now. Motley rocked. Mick is one of the most underrated players of all time.
,👍👍 Love "In the beginning" that Bell sound is so eerie. Great Tribute brother! The white Strat is my favorite. "Danger" is the best album closer ever written.
@@tommykicksass yea, that song is overlooked. Vince's vocals were good on this. SATD was ahead of it's time, considering what was being played on the radio and what was popular back then.
Amazing video, brother. I have the same taste in their songs and riffs. I'm 45 now, but I got my first Motley Crue cassette for Easter in 1983, at the age of 10, from my Grandparents. Lol.....That is a Killer Burst on that Les Paul. I just subscribed to your channel, assuming that the majority of it is guitar related things. My favorite song from Motley Crue is 10 seconds to love. Hello from New Orleans. Keep rocking.
Hi Sonny, thank you. Your Grandparents seem to be the coolest in the world. That LES PAUL is the Harley Benton Brand from Germany. Great guitars. Great that you enjoyed the video with your favorite riffs.
I love you mick were ever you are ..you was my idol for 53 years .you was the best man your at the top of my Eddie Randy' mick George Jake thats all I ever loved put them all together and you see me.shredd on my friend. God bless you and your family and friends
Mick Mars should go down as an innovator and be inducted in RRHOF as a guitar player. Motley Crue is kickass band every guy in that band is a legend in music!!!
my fav guitar play will always be Mic. two Richies dont make it right..my name as well. dude..that T is too new. i still have my original T from 1987 girls girls girls tour at joe lewis arena in detroit..kick ass show.
Mick would say that you suck because you're not Jeff Beck. Hahahahaha ! :D Thank you for clearly pointing out how to do these subtle variations in the Looks That Kill riff. Every tab I found was blatantly wrong or just ignoring them.
Nikki sixx, was for motley crue what steve harris was for maidens (..oviously not about the same instrument played, but as founder, mind and composer. ..Of almost all the songs).
Dude I've been taking up for mick mars since motley crue became my favorite heavy metal band not anymore since they suck and have become posers except mick. Got into heavy metal in 1983 the was my favorite band until generation swine after that I was done did like some of new tattoo hated the saints of Los Angeles only liked the title track. I live and breathe real metal and mick mars never got the credit he deserves for making the crue awesome so it's cool to see we don't all think mick ain't that great but actually love his style and playing. While others had pics of lynch and demartini I had pics of mick one great heavy metal guitarist playing heavy metal the way it should be played loud, rude and aggressive Mick Mars one word legend. Ain't nobody gonna remember a dream theatre 15 minute song but 20 years from now they're gonna be jamming looks that kill and shout at the devil. Motley Crue 1981 to 1989 great heavy metal shout is the best then theatre of pain. Just listen to mick on those albums. That's for giving mick his credit.
Mick was the most underated pre-youtube guitarist. Now that youtube comments fixed it, you guys can start to stop claiming that he is the most underated guitarist of all time.
I have to say it Mick Mars murderous Riffs that caught my attention with Motley Crue, Also it was Mick Mars Who gave the band the name, Motley Crue! Without Mick Mars murderous Riffs and giving the band it's nane, they wouldn't be where they are now, that's just a fact, When I first heard Livewire in 1985 I was still a kid it was that Riff in the Beginning, then Tommy Lee's just beating the hell out of that drum set it's like John Bonham drumming, then of course Vince Neil's voice comes in then Nikki and Nikki Sixx bass and really great song writing.
Oh my god!!!!! How can a guy who sold millions and millions of albums be underrated!!!!!??? That's all they say about the guy is how underrated he is jesus!!!!! People just say anything they hear!!!!
