Watching this on my M1 Mac mini...just got it in the mail today...liking it so far

I think one kind of big aspect about the M1 Macs that’s not really brought up that much is the price. If you buy the cheapest option for any of these Macs, you still get the best performance possible. It’s a pretty significant difference when you used to have to pay to spec up from an i3.

only thing I hate is they killing third-party repair.

The way Dave says 'important' makes it seem so IMPORTANT.

Yo! I've watched some of your videos that pop up on my recommendation bar and I like you're style man. You really explain things well. I'm just getting into tech looking to replace my HP pavilion sleekbook 14 that I've had since forever and your explanations really put things into perspective for me. I like how you explained your POV in the beginning. That and your voice make this video a good experience. Keep it up just earned another sub. I'm still looking at options I only brows the web currenty so I think these new mac would be good for me. But I think I'm going to wait.

Thank you for such a brief, yet detailed and informing, review. I especially liked how you balanced all the positives with the downsides at the end, really thoughtful stuff. All things considered, I finally retired my 11 year old windows laptop for a MacBook air.

So this is why Dave was very confident in his rebuttal of Linus's opinion last Friday. He already had the machines and was speaking from personal experience..

Excellent medium dive into this new tech. It's clear that these have the muscle required for ingest, cuts editing, and completion of short projects at current resolutions and bit rates. It will likely be a few more years before this is used in iMac Pros and MacPros since those were introduced/updated relatively recently.

Literally watching this on a M1 Macbook Pro. Very impressed by it so far. Never had a laptop last this long, only other mac I had was a Macbook Air about 5 years ago.

This is a very thought out video. I really appreciate your approach to this video, I personally was also waiting for your video so that I can know what is up with it and weirdly I wasn't expecting this to be this good (processor), but Apple is Apple.

Honestly, despite 2020 being a shitty year, I can’t believe how much there’s hardware advancement in the PC sides. Intel and AMD has been fighting over their products and Apple has brought their already powerful Silicon Technology from their iPhones/iPads/iPods to the PC side. Nvidia has released basically a huge upgrade over what the 10 series to 20 series transition. And AMD also is competing with Nvidia over their GPU. It’s been a shitty year for a lot of people, don’t get me wrong, people is getting sick, people is dying. But I’m certain that the year 2020 will be a good history contrast in the future where both good stuff and bad stuff has happened at the same time. I have never been happier to be a nerd for PC hardware at 2020. Good job Apple, you still have polishing to do. But at how well you did the M1 even if it’s the first generation, I’m looking forward to them invent further. Maybe this is the cue for me to get a real MacBook, they killed off the Hackintosh community(For now, hopefully), but they did give the users really powerful and good hardware. I look forward to their innovation in the future :)

Great review. Thinking of replacing my 2010 MacBook pro, and would definitely have bought the M1 MBP if it didn't have the Touch Bar. Now i'll possibly get the Air, but most likely wait for next generation.

I came to the point where I go with a review from Dave rather than mkbhd... Really nice one Dave.

i used to have a surface pro with 6th gen i5 for four years but when inline scholl hit it just couldnt take it anymore. I upgraded to a macbook air and i was surprised by how snappy powerful it was and im excited to see what apple will do with its next m series processors
