Yup. Learned this one the hard way. At the 2 minute mark, that main harness.....it had rubbed through on my truck and shorted my horn. These horns wide open are INSANE! There was a fire, which we contained quickly due to the extinguisher mounted in the truck. I melted through about 5 wires. Spent an afternoon with a test light trying to figure out how to connect them back again. Addressed all other areas after that to make sure we didn't do it again.
Great video!. Thank you for taking the time to make these!! You mention the throttle linkage. I just put my trans back in and had to remove the throttle linkage and bracket or atleast unbolt it so I could move it. Had to do this so I could get the clutch release lever on the trans clocked correctly. For anyone doing the job. To clock the clutch release lever. Rotate the clutch release rod till the throw out bearing is touching the pressure plate fingers. Then install the lever clocked so that you have 3.25" from transmission flange to the center of bolt hole on bottom of the lever. Then the rest of the clutch adjustment will be in the rod.
I really enjoyed that video, thanks it is a big help. I appreciate you taking the time out to help others. Just got my bobbed Deuce today. I’ll check out your other videos also.
How many miles do you get on these motors . I am only planning on running diesel in mine. Back in the 80s the company I was working for was getting a million miles on the Mack's we were running and still going.
