My first drive when i haved 13 years old was in one WONDERFUL DODGE M 37 IN THE PERUVIAN COAST THIS IS A POWERFUL MACHINE, IS FANTASTIC!! I LIKE VERY MUCH!!! THANKS FOR THIS VIDEO, GOOD JOB BOY!!
I like your flat OD paint better than the semi -gloss OD its supposed to be. It just looks right. Need to get a star on that hood, and on the doors too. Keep the videos coming. It keeps me motivated. Joe
Thanks for the feedback. I'm in Colorado. The video is for a friend in the Marine Corps. There are a lot of inside jokes there that most people won't get. I plan to do a second video with more drive time.
Hi Joe, I like the flat OD too. The color I used is Gillespie 34087 from Rapco. On some areas of the truck, the original paint was exposed and it was a pretty flat color very similar to 34087.
Great video! I just bought a 52 m-37 and this vid is motivation to work on it. I'm wondering what the loops on the bed next to the cab are for. Mine have a canvas strap. There the large loop going up and down above the tool box doors
jadams64: Thanks for the comments. The canvas straps/loops are for stowing the bows that support the canvas cover over the bed. There is an old joke that they were used to tie prisoners to the side of the truck and make them run alongside! Alas, they are for a much more mundane purpose.
M37's ROCK!!! I've got one of my own. Re-painting it very soon. Had it for 14 years. Excellent video. Most people just do an out of focus video from across the street. You showed what things were what and what they do. Excellent job! Where are you located? Joe
Hi ... They are NATO NDT tires, 9.00 x 16. I'm not sure if you can get them anymore. I bought them from an outfit in Texas that had a bunch of different surplus and aircraft tires. They are better than the standard NDTs in snow and mud, but definitely a rougher ride on pavement. If interested, you might Google around and see if you can find some.
Thanks. The tires are NATO Israeli-made. I got them from used from Genesco. I thought they would be better in the snow, but didn't seem to make much of a difference. I might put the original NDTs back on. They seem to ride a little smoother.
It's 24 volt. I have the water proof distributor and plug wires, but those distros seem to suck a bit of spark out of the electrical system and sometimes you don't get complete combustion from the spark plugs. It needs every bit of help running at 8500' feet!
HA, I watched this video to see how similar the M37 was to my M715, because I have nothing to compare it to. They share a lot of things!! I wish I had the split windshield with the fold out glass! Mine is a one piece, that only folds down on the hood.
