So if you were to swap in the m37 diff, would you get better acceleration even though it’s not VLSD? I’m looking at getting an m56 soon and wanting to do this mod. All I really care about is a little acceleration boost. Is it worth it to do the m37 diff rather than the g37?
Very nice work sir !!!! Thanks for the video, have you ever had a problem with the AWS on this car ? I have an M37s 2012 just bought and I have this light on the Dash AWS + Traction Off , I can hear the Brakes squalling bad but I don’t know if that’s the case.
Thank you - it has not messed with it at all. I've heard of several things causing those lights. Best advice I can give is to get the car sorted with the normal maintenance items like brakes, brake fluid level, etc and then try to pull codes to see what else may be going on with the car. It very well could be a ride height sensor or the actual aws motor in the rear. Some folks have even gotten the light to turn off by cleaning the plug connections at the aws motor.
I had to offset drill holes in the solid mounts. I only had a drill press and mine were drilled very dirty (don't look good) but they function fine. I'm going to revisit the rear diff soon so look out for a better option than what I posted.
Hey Hogg! i have a few questions this coming month im planning on buying a M56S the owner is holding it for me since he is out of state till the time i need to buy. its at 76,000 miles and clean title is there anything i 100% need to check out that breaks on these normally or that wear down really bad not anything like breaks or oil ik to check all that! thanks for the info if given any and love the content
Sorry I just saw this - Definitely ask if the timing chain recall has been done, if not check to make sure the dealer will still perform the recall. It's also a good idea to see if all recalls have been completed but the timing chain is the big one. Most people do the High Pressure Fuel Pump shim at the same time since that is prone to fail too. Other than that the car is solid as long as you change the oil and use high grade synthetic oil for Direct injection engines. One last thing, these cars are prone to carbon build up on the valves which can reduce performance and affect part throttle drivability. There are threads on NicoClub.com about this and the other stuff too. Good luck it's a great car!
Hey bud, I got RWD M Sport model with R208 Diff. So is it VLSD type or open? I want to change oil but don't know if I should use 75w-90 LSD or just normal 75w-90 oil.
@@kennethhogg731 Thanks, you're a lifesaver! I asked my local Nissan dealership if they can change my transmission oil and differential oil, and the guy I was talking to looked so confused and basically said it's a "lifetime" oil and why I want to change it... I guess I have to do it all myself lol
@@kennethhogg731 Two months I changed both transmission fluid & the diff oil and the car drives so much better now. What you said about eco mode is spot on. Whenever I drive in the city (30mph is max here in England) if it's in standard mode it just frustrates me sometimes. Especially due to the fact that it usually switches from 3rd > 4th around 30/31mph.
That is called the Burnout Mod from UpRev. They modify the ECU so that the computer doesn't limit the throttle with the brake depressed. You can do this manually by installing a switch inline with the brake sensor but it is kind of a pain in the neck to do, plus you get all the dash warning lights associated with traction control, vehicle stability and abs. So it's not ideal.
Hey bud i bet hat VK56 is nice! i own a G37 and didn't know anything about them till lately. Do you have the same 7 speed in a G? I wish I had the extra torque and motor sound you have. Have you had any problems w the DI w carbon buildup?
@@김성룡-m4c I don't think I have that on my car but my assumption is that because the transmission output shaft speed sensor is now different because of the different gearing that could throw the computer out of whack. Same as my cruise control not working.
@@longfellowdeeds1651 Pros are better acceleration, better traction, more fun to drive. Cons cruise control stopped working, less highway fuel economy,
@@mn507-outdoors The M37 is a direct bolt in replacement but it is not VLSD. That is why I went with the G37 diff. Plus there is a ton of aftermarket differential options for the g37 diff too if I ever wanted to get fancy.
