M5OD Shifter Removal and Function 

This is the Ranger version. The F-150 is a similar design with slightly larger parts; case, bearings, gears, etc.

Just asking cause my reverse is locked in and I don’t want to remove the transmission again just replaced

That would be, I think, the reverse/5th gear synchro being locked into your reverse position, which should lock the gear. Which way you have to disengage it to get it back into neutral, I'm unsure of.
