@@projectnerf7920 hey, I want to do this mod for myself because I’m an avid halo fan and would love a mod like this but I can’t for the life of my find any sort of rayven automatic parts, do you have a link that I can use to purchase the parts for myself? Thanks you for the awesome guide and if I can get my hands on the parts I’ll totally be using it to make my own.
I'll save this mod for the future. I want to dip my toes into a Stryfe mod before cracking open my MA40. I do hope auto kits do come out soon however, would make this process much more smoother. Then again, your trial and error with it was the very definition of tinkering and modding 🔥
Thanks so much for the kind words. I would think it won't take to long ,for a kit to be designed for this one. I mean it's a Halo blaster it's supposed to be full auto right?
Much appreciated, my friend. And stay tuned still got a few good ones coming up here in the near future. Much love, be safe.......................................................... Chris
I don't know how you do it, but you are consistently the first quality content creator to publish a mod on the blasters i an actually interested to learn about. Also, good to know about the barrel diameter. I was wondering about that!
Yea, I thought is was very heads up of Hasbro to know that a barrel that long would have to be larger, to prevent too much performance loss............................................... Chris
YOU ARE THE BEST THANK YOU!! I started a repaint of this as a gift for my little brother... A few weeks ago. Just finished, and upon re-assembling it I could not for the life of me figure out where what you identified as the "safety switch" went!!! I searched far and wide and this is the only thing I found that helped. Thank you so much!!!
Man this build made me get this gun and made it my first motor, Flywheel, and lipo build. Loved it. Used 3s kraken motors with basic worker concaved Flywheel and a 0.95 3s lipo. Only got 106 average. Wish i could go higher but would need to do a 2 step.
Awesome mod, crazy rate of fire. My jamb door doesn't keep the safety switch held in properly. This video really helped and saved me pulling apart the whole thing to get in there and fix the switch.
So...i kinda find this style of 'review' much more interesting. I always want to see the guts of these things. You can customize almost anything, bit if the guts are total trash, there's not much 'making it work.' That being said... Wow. That was comprehensive, and well explained. Totally fricken amazing. Only thing I would suggest is a parts list. Or a kit. Id totally buy a kit
Thanks so much for your kindness, I really appreciate the support. I would totally buy a kit for it too. Hopefully some much wiser person than me will design one.
Me just taking my baby steps into the nerf modding community: this’ll go well The modding community: 9:49 Amazing work on this MA40 even though I’m not ever gonna use the mod it’s nice to know what the internals of nerf guns look like
Yes, put them on the spot! The review is included in the mod guide anyway: "this is the blaster, there are many like it but this one is about to become very special!". Review done, get to the build guide, everybody wins. Please tell me if I'm missing any aspects? What the "I didn't get any jams or malfunctions" or "we shot a litany of darts through this Halo-esque Hasbro offering"? :))))
I think you hit the key point my friend. Reviews are cool but after I see a dozen of them saying the same thing, it does get a little old. I'd rather just rip it open and see the quality from the inside. Much love.................................. Chris
We’re growing slow but sure. It’s not the quantity of subs that concerns me, rather the quality. Good engaging folks are the ones I hope to get. Thanks my friend, I appreciate your support.......... Chris
I love your mod. I just ordered the gun. I wish there were links for the parts I looked on a few nerf sites and only found half the parts. I don't usually do nerf modding but more than familiar with solder and Dremel work. Your instructions are very easy to follow.
You are most welcome my friend. Oh and the parts you made for the boomco blaster look amazing. Can't wait to get it painted up and modded......................................... Chris
@@projectnerf7920 you may have issues on the boomco needler cocking handle. Its silicone pads wont take paint..i had to use a epoxy based paint to get it to take a coat. Otherwise it will just sluff.off
i wanna do a hpa conversion on one of these for airsoft, paint it up as an ma37, do some body work on it and whatnot, perfect for an airsoft odst cosplay
This is awesome, even kinda sounds like an actual AR haha, I personally prefer one shot at a time since it’s less wasteful specially only having a 10 dart magazine, wished they had made a BR instead so the semi auto function made sense, hope they do one in the future
is that Atch Attachments auto-rayven kit? the gearbox bracket looks very similar in fact the stock internals look like they were ripped straight out the rayven
Indeed it was my friend. I have also done it with the XSW stryfe kit, but there is a lot more custom mounting. While similar I would have to say that I’m a fan of the more robust pusher in the MA40. It’s a bit smoother too.
@project nerf, would reducing the barrel diameter to a "normal" nerf diameter help with the FPS ? could you have kept the factory micro switches or was upgrading a better option ? these will be my first electric nerf blasters i will be upgrading, and eventually would like to retro full/semi auto into my older guns like the longshot.
I love the body style of a lot of them too. The new cost cutting measures don't thrill me much, but I'm always up for a challenge............................................ Chris
I wasn't even using this to mod mine, I used this to completely break my blaster apart and try and figure out why I have such a stiff, clacky trigger action. anyone else dealing with a stiff trigger on this particular dart blaster?
Also i dont know how this will work now but just as a general question since i only got back into nerf guns when i saw halo. Do you think its possible to convert the magwell and magazine to use half size darts or i believe there called hyper rounds to make a full 32 or 36 mag depending if you want a MA37 or MA40?
Instead of stacking the auto motor so high and carving the outside of the blaster, is there enough room to flip the rack over, lower the motor and put the spur gear under it?
@@projectnerf7920 Oh yeah, I didn't consider there is a point where the pusher is crossing into the mag. I ordered some of those motors, I want to do this to one of mine. Thanks!
It could, but not as well. With the hobby motors we use, it’s not just voltage but also how much current a battery delivers. Standard alkaline batteries don’t deliver a lot of current.
I do commission work my friend, pretty backed up ATM, so I couldn't turn the job over very fast for you, but If you shoot me a mail over to the shop we can discuss it further.
IM NEW AND IVE GOT A BUMB QUESTION I BOUGHT A MA40 AND M85P BB gun which has semi and full auto fire modes and its electric and i was wondering would it be possible to convert the ma40 to use the same BB firing setup as its quitter as i just shoot targets and you have semi and full auto and the battery would fit in the ma40 battery compartment im guessing you can tell im new to this and was just looking for some info as i have not had much luck about modding a ma40 except for painting and your vid which was amazing
I'm not so sure that it could be made to fire darts, as the pusher in BB and Airsoft blasters are typically solenoid and have a super short stroke. Not saying at all that the boards couldn't be used to work a different type of pusher, but that would be way out of my field of experience to even begin to say where to start.
Great guide, I wouldn't have thought to put a full auto kit into this blaster. But why didn't you use one of buffdaddy's MA40 cages and get the performance higher?
Hmm where can I buy that cog/gear and the rail it goes on? It seems like you got most of the parts from outofdarts, but I cannot find the rest anywhere.
In the video I modified an Atch Attachments Auto Rayven Kit, But I have also done the mod with and XSW Auto Stryfe kit. As for the mounts they will have to be custom made, if you 3d print perhaps you could design on that would work.
Shoot me a mail on the shop page and we can work out the details. The link to our shop is in the description box of any of our videos................. Chris
I got it from an auto Rayven kit. I also built one on commission that I got the parts from an XSW Stryfe kit. Bot worked out fine was just a matter of tinkering to get everything lined up right and running smoothly.
I actually did an ammo counter on my Boomco MA 5, it works pretty well all in all. Take a look at the old videos, Please forgive the Quality. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-hD25rN0WtLk.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE---Qip3xTTQ0.html
It would be cool if u add a real select fire switch since it has a fake select fire switch, but overall nice mod sir!! Btw will u plan to mod the spectrum??
You will have to modify a kit to make it work in the blaster. I have done a couple now and I like the XSW stryfe kit. Shame to cut up such a nice kit but it's modding...........................................Chris
Hi, I'm getting some dart jamming issues in general for this blaster. It DOES fire, so the motor technically is working, but I can't personally see any problems as to why the darts are jamming. I'm asking you as you seem to know the whole ins and outs of nerf motors (it's my first time). I dunno if you have the time but perhaps I could show you a video or two of my problem? I'd really really appreciate it
Hello, Great video is there any way we could send you our Halo rifle and pay you to set it up like the one you built (if not better)? We have other guns that could be remastered... Let us know what you think? Please and Thank You.
I handle all commission work through the Etsy shop. If you shoot me a mail there we can discuss it. Though I will say upfront that I'm pretty backlogged right now.
@@projectnerf7920 Would you mind sending us a link on Etsy as to how to find you? For Rifles, we actually have 1- MA - 40 Halo rifle (like the one in this video), 1- Nerf n Strike Modulus (full rifle and accessories), 2- Nerf Ultra Amps (W/Worker mods), 1- Nerf N-Strike Elite Infinus Blaster, 1- Nerf Star Wars The Mandalorian Amban Phase-Pulse Blaster (arriving Oct 2021), PISTOLS: 1- NERF Fortnite 6-Shot Dart Blaster, 1- Nerf Poe Dameron Blaster w/GlowStrike Technology, 1- Nerf Episode VII Chewbacca Bowcaster, 1- Nerf Qi’Ra Blaster, 1- Nerf Mandalorian 1 shot pistol, 1- Nerf Han Solo Blaster w/GlowStrike Technology. Well, Project Nerf we're grateful and thankful, we'll spread the good word on this channel. Thanks, Project Nerf we look forward to working with you. Sincerely and Thanks, Greer!
I didn't replace the cage, but I did do the flywheel motors and flywheels. Along with an auto stryfe kit, preferably the XSW kit. Then you will still need to fabricate a mount for the pusher kit. along with all the switches and wiring that go along with converting it to lipo power.
@@projectnerf7920 thanks! I think i might pick one of these up and do what you did minus the full auto. Idk how into halo you are but i designed a lego working halo assault rifle. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-7UdbSgO51aI.html theres the link to it on my other channel
I don't sell them. But If I were to do it again I would probably just modify the XSW stryfe kit. I know that Monkey mods , sells them and I think Outofdarts.com has them too.
@@projectnerf7920 i have one of those but how would u fit it in place because the post holes placed in the plastic that holds the gearbox aren't the same is it? And how did u get the pusher teeth? Would i be able to cut one off of another piece and glue it there to the spot like u had on the video? Also thanks!
The mounting block for the motor/gearbox you would have to fabricate, as I did. The teeth could be cut off of the pusher arm from the kit, and fastened to the MA40 pusher. I used short screws and glue to make sure mine doesn't go anywhere. This will also allow you to set the teeth right where you need them to get the exact amount of push.
the mounting block , I made out of an old gearbox I had laying around. But you could use whatever you have around even a scrap piece of wood could be cut down to work.
It would be, I suppose. You could rig it up on some kind of a pusher mech of it's own to make it work back and forth as the blaster was firing. But it would be a ton of work, for just the cosmetic appeal.
To be honest I didn't measure it, but it's crazy long. Far more so than any other blaster I have ever worked on. That being said it's also much larger in Diameter.
Not this one specifically, but I would be happy to build one on commission. Shoot me a mail at the shop page and we can discus it if you like............. Chris
Awesome vid. My girlfriend got me none for Christmas. Was just Going to paint it and make the charging handle work but damn this is tempting too haha. Should come this way from the factory !
You are welcome to shoot me a mail at the Etsy page and we can discuss it. But I can say it will be quite a while before I can take on any new Commission work, as I already have a backlog.
Totally depends on the internal set you want really. By the time I take commissions on this blaster I'm sure there will be a ton of aftermarket parts to choose from. But if you are interested in commissioning me to build one for you. Contact me through the shop. www.etsy.com/shop/ProjectNerf/
can we make a selector switch for single shot as well??????????? plzz im prob gona do this as my next project... anyone wanna buy a modded sledgfire? LOL
Hey my friend I could use all the help I can get. If you have some examples of what good ones look like please shoot a few pics over to my gmail. Thanks....... Chris
