My favorite song from our childhood. Excellent drums composed.

The prelude of the song, expresses mystery of charectors in the film leading up to Pallavi, gradually disclosing , double life of the so called husband , and literally, innocent wife's unawareness, of what' coming about in the foreign soil, desperate to be evacuated from that Mess (Marriage).This can be easily conceived. But Great MSV musically designed it, with agony being embeded heavily ochestrated GEM . NO MUSIC DIRECTOR CAN EVEN DREAM OF THAT. MSV did Kadavul Aaiththu Vaiththa medai in 1974. His songs are for smart & intligent people who can Analyse nuances of his songs. We people from Jaffna, have great respect and look up to this TRUE MUSIC GENIUS, India ever produced. This 8+ Min wonder will make all of us listen over and again.

MSV is a legend. There’s no second thought about it. Not sure you had a chance to read the Anandha Vikatan review of the movie 47 Naatkal when it was released. On the music part, It only said “Adhisaya raagam” (which comes in the movie in the background) was good. This comment was a set back as the review did not recognise the songs of the movie. (You can refer the old edition of Anandha vikatan if you are able to get it). This shows a deterioration of quality of his own music over years. Leaving the review, this song is an excellent composition running to more than 8 minutes. Legend MSV

Ananthuji, firstly I am very happy you chose to present this once in a life time number by MSV. Like you, I was also mad at this song during my school days, when it was released. To listen to those 4 changing rhythms , like you explained , coupled with equally complex bass guitar patterns ( that 3rd charanam interlude and charanam starting with bass guitar only...I will listen to it any number of times), is a bliss. Extraordinary contributions by MSV SPB , drummer Siva mani and Thumba shekar and bass guitarist Royston ( hope I am correct with the teams names).Kavignar Kannadasan just deserves a shashtanga namaskaram for this song. Thank you so much.

Great legend msv

This song by legendary SPB comes in at apt scenes in parts coinciding with the screen play. A novel creation and thinking and aptly merges with the BGM of the film. There are two songs. This song belongs to the Montage Category, the other song, a solo by the legendary Vani Jayaram for Rama Prabha who plays a Cameo Role in this Film. The original story was written by the Tamil writer Sivasankari, which came as a continual series in those days in", a weekly journal edited and published by the Journalist Manian.

MSv ayya creates a contrast by making the music vibrant, reflecting the rich setting being enjoyed by the husband while the wife is left isolated. The lyrics speak for her but the interludes and accompanying music shows the enjoyment of her husband. Even more interesting choice, why they went for male voice to speak for her instead of a female voice that expresses her frustration. Maybe they didn't want to give her even a singing voice in the film or they wanted the song as if it was from the audience point of view to make them sympathize with her. Would have been nice to know the discussion between the team. In any case, it is a unique choice. Ps: Is the song inspired or influenced by Yaadon ki Baraat? The charanam portion seems to have some similarity.
