Purchased mine earlier this month, but sent back for service as the disconnector caused significant hangup as slide was retracted. Once back from service, I hope to tune the spring weights. Your recommendation offer a solid guide me to enhance my MAC 9 DS. Great timing and vid.
If you polish the areas I mentioned it would stop the hangup or just shoot it till it smooths out. It is because of the coating they use. Also lots of oil during break-in.
@@GunsandGearNetwork I was considering polishing, but slide would very nearly lock-back while racking. Had not even shot it, but IMO I should not need to polish the ramp if firearm is 2 days new. I did clean shipping gunk and used lubricant, albeit with my normal light coating of weapon grease. So, they issued RMA and I sent it back. Also did not want to dump empty mags if slide-locked.
Being an old skater, I got grip tape on everything my bass drum kick pedal my high hat pedal my bic lighters. I got grip tape in every color, you can imagine tiger stripe lightning bolts on my shoe on my guitars in my cars, but not on my carry That would eat a whole through my back, my side or my stomach, maybe if I had one of those shoulder straps like some old private investigator. It wouldn’t be too bad… but I’m building a competition gun. That’ll probably get some grip tape.😂
Possibly depending on the spring weight and type of ammo. That is why I suggest buying spring kits with different weights included. That way you can fine tune it based on the type of ammo you are shooting. Another thing to consider is how the pistol returns to zero on target. Springs can affect how the pistol returns to zero such as it dives forward. Like I said play with different spring weights and ammo combinations.
Do not just start bending your factory sear spring around. It's just a bad idea. I customize my guns in all types of ways, but I always want to be able to go right back to factory if I want to sell or carry it or something. Order a standard spring from wolf and put your original in a little zip lock with a label and put it in the case/box with the rest of the factory parts you replaced. I say get Wolf standard because that's what I personally have had the best luck with, though I hear Colt works well too. I have tried several others that didn't work as well. I will not claim to be an expert at adjusting sears, I have however gotten good results on 4 different 19/2011 guns but it was kinda hard earned each time with a lot of letting the slide slam shut without a round in the chamber to test for hammer follow, which is the entire thing in the end, a low trigger pull weight that's safe. I hope this helps at least one person.
I replaced same springs as you did when my MAC 9 came in. I didn't break the gun down any further, but i feel the trigger shoe is longer than i prefer. Do you know if theres a trigger shoe to replace without replacing the bow?
I was going to but RU-vid is a pain in the butt about stuff like that. Any quality 1911 springs will work. Wolff, Atlas, Wilson Combat, Spring Co., etc.
