I saw him (MacTonight) once. It was in the woods one night in 2003. He had many technological instruments he was focused on at the time but when he saw me, he raised his lips to his mouth in the classic "shoosh" poise and he floated away with his piano. I found several of the instruments broken in the same spot days later. They seemed to be made of composite cardboard and thin layers of copper/other metals. I don't know what they were for.

Australian Mac Tonight wasn’t allowed to be the same as the other one(s) because of an Australian law (that probably doesn’t exist anymore) that doesn’t let the people copy the commercials overseas.

It's sooo nostalgic. 'twas 1987 when I first heard this commercial as a kid. I think a lot of us were captivated by the jazzy tune that evoked powerful feel good emotions.... subconsciously telling ourselves.... " I wanna be part of that magical moment". I really wanna grab some MC goodies tonight! And yes.... I'm willingly allowing myself to be influenced by a good marketing campaign of yesteryears!!!! 😀

EDIT: List of commercials found since the upload of this compilation can also be found in the description... Over two years in the making, the third Mac Tonight compilation has arrived. Thanks to many technical difficulties and lack of free time, it's approaching a year since I promised to have this uploaded. However, this have given me the opportunity to add many commercials found in the last year, so I'm glad I left it this long. Since my first compilation in 2016, over 50 of these commercials have been uncovered. After many, *many* hours collectively spend searching for Mac Tonight commercials, I'm happy to say that most of them have now been found (though there are still a couple of important ones missing). I hope everyone enjoys 40 minutes of Mac Tonight commercials. If you managed to get through all the repetition, well done.

34:00 This is the later 15 second version of the ad. There's the full 30 second version of that ad in the Philippines which it is the same as the Singapore and Hong Kong versions but it's kinda hard to find now so that shorter version only exists on the internet.

They would have has access to the original footage, but laws in Australia at the time meant that they couldn't broadcast foreign commercials within Australia - so we got the masterpiece that is Australian Spinning Burger instead!

The SOURCES file is a work in progress at the moment, but USED SOURCES (which should also be on there) contains each source that I actually used in this compilation - it’s in there. Was uploaded by one of the two girls seen interacting with Mac Tonight in the commercial, so I assume it’s an original source rather than a reupload (though the commercial has been around online for many years before that video was uploaded, but the original source seems so have disappeared).

The original video was taken down a while ago, actually. Glad I got it before it was deleted - it was a tape of some music awards (seems like they used a good-quality tape to get the songs in high-quality, which is why the commercial audio is really good). If you check the Google Drive link in the description of the video, all the commercials can be downloaded from there in their original quality. I also have a list of sources, but the link won't work.

¿Alguien me puede decir por qué diablos dejaron de usar a este personaje? Maldito McDonalds, nada hacen bien, y cuando lo hacen, lo tiran a la basura. PD: Alguien dígame, de verdad no sé.

La melodía utilizada para los comerciales de Mac Tonight es "Mack the Knife", popularizada en los años 50 por Bobby Darin. En 1989, el hijo de Bobby Darin demandó a McDonald's por violar la marca registrada de su padre sin permiso. McDonald's dejó de transmitir comerciales de Mac Tonight después de eso, pero intentó mantener la campaña usando una nueva canción en 1990 (comercial subido a mi canal, no en la compilación). Sin embargo, esto evidentemente no tuvo éxito, por lo que no se hicieron más comerciales de Mac Tonight hasta finales de los 90, como se ve en la compilación. Estos tampoco tuvieron éxito. Debido al meme "Moon Man" que ha plagado Internet desde 2007, no veo que Mac Tonight regrese a los Estados Unidos en el corto plazo. ¡Ojalá un día!

@@killme1657 but that one just plays classic rock songs every hour, but McDonald’s heard that he was scaring the kids so they plugged them but he is still up there today but not playing songs.
