Directly translated, he says "Not a lot of people know my full name/title" which I think is an important detail. This was made for Chinese audiences, and over there this is one of the most famous and iconic pieces of their culture, hence why it's big enough to make its way over to America. With an audience that knows this story as well as they do, they already know that the Six Eared Macaque is a bad guy. So it doesn't make a lot of sense for MK to _not_ know who he is. That's like researching a _lot_ about Zeus, but not knowing anything about Hera. Or knowing tons about Spider-Man, but not knowing who Venom is. It's just weird and unlikely. It's weird for someone so obsessed with the monkey King to not know about a character that is one of the more significant and memorable villains in the book. I think that line is here to imply that in this world that we're watching, the six eared macaque isn't as famous. It's saying "hey, we know that it doesn't make sense for him to be fooled by Macaque, so let's just pretend it _isn't_ weird for him to not know this guy." I don't think it's _supposed_ to have a huge emotional meaning, especially since the concept is never really acknowledged again. BUT! ...the angst potential is very strong with this one, I'll admit. The possibilities are endless!

In Chinese, the rod has it's own special name, it's not just the Monkey King's staff or stick or whatever. It's *the* Golden Hooped Rod (jingubang) MK's name in this Mandarin one is "Mini Sage", technically speaking, since he's the mini version of the great sage equal to heaven. 👂= 耳 (I love when Chinese is straightforward) I don't know why it's so satisfying? Maybe his confidence? Maybe it's cuz his leitmotif plays in that same moment? Maybe it's cuz he says the Chinese name with a excellently-pronounced flair to it that feels like confidence but not arrogance? (I mean, obviously the _Chinese_ VA is going to say the Chinese name correctly, but something about his voice really pulls it off. Like he wears the entire vibe that Chinese languages have better than I could dream of)
In the Japanese version of Ninjago I think they use the same voice actor for MK and Lloyd I mean it’s uncanny how they sound a like ps Japanese is not my first language English is

I think part of it is the "Young Shounen Hero Boy is Voiced By a Woman" thing that Naruto also does but a lot of Monkie Kid's other dubs don't do with MK
I love the Chinese dub cuz he actually said “the six eared Macaque…. But not everyone knows that” instead of “Macaque is my full name” it’s so funny 😂 also the French dub in my opinion has the best scream cuz he sounds like Tarzan
Macaque's voice in Japanese, Chinese, and English are kinda attractive to me. Really gives off the aloof and dark persona I was kinda getting tired of in anime and cartoons. RIP to the English VA.
the mandarin dub is actually super great! when season 3 was only out in mandarin i seriously couldnt get enough of macaque's voice. even MK sounds very similar to his english voice, and wukong is voiced by the man who plays him in jttw 96 (dicky cheung) 😊

Bro I’m with you, as a Mexican I really love how the actor of Macaque in Spanish has a perfect voice for him 🛐💞💕✨ (And that makes his voice soo hot.. 🛐😟💞)
The german Macaque makes me die a bit inside xD MK's voice actor is fitting in my opinion, and some of the other german voice actors are really good! (DBK's voice actor positively suprised me!) But for every good and fitting voice actor, we have at least one bad or questionable voice actor choice/translation decition
If I were able to choose the german voice actors for Wukong and Macaque, Tommy Morgenstern (german VA of Thor, Goku and Rengoku) would be perfect as Wukong. I think for Macaque the best german VA would be Nico Sablick (german VA of Gyuu Tomioka). But that's just my opinion hehe. You should check their work as voice actors out. They're really good at it! ^^
@@falling_4_30min3 true, those two would be a good fit! I first wasn't sure about Nico Sablick, becouse he sounds kinda young as Gyuu, but the more I listened, the more I thought it fitt! (Plus it would be leagues better than what we have now xD) I find Wukongs curent voice actor alredy pretty fitting, but I agree that Tommy Morgenstern would have been a good alternative pick as well!

For MKs japanese va its not my favorite, merely because it doesnt sound much like him or match his character in general. I would've like that voice (imo) with the scorpion queen. I do like the voice though, I just sort of wish it sounded more like MK just like the other vas. But yk its already been selected and its completely fine
Japan always making a young boy character voiced by a girl. Even though MK’s age is ambiguous but he’s most likely an adult. They did this with Cole in Ninjago as well
I can see how the lip sync is off in the Chinese version. Even if the Chinese one came out first, a month earlier, I can see that this bilingually-created series was intended to be English first. My suspicions were correct.

i love how in the chinese dub they use sun wukong and liu'er mihou instead of monkey king and macaque hearing their real names makes me happy for some reason
К сожалению те крупицы людей кто озвучивают на русском, в основном есть в группах вк и ещё не видела чтобы те кто озвучивает выкладывали на ютуб с озвучкой... И тем не менее, мне все понравились голоса! Особенно отлично все подходят для Макака! (Хотя моими фаворитами будут, японская, китайская, английская, и немецкий :) )
Fun fact, in every other dub, monkey king and macaque introduce themselves as wellxyou know- monley king and macaque. BUT in the CHINESE dub, they say the chinese names!!! (Like how monkey kign says Sun Wukong, and macaque says Liu'er Mihou! )
when it comes to voice acting young boys can often receive female voice actors to portray that they’re young and haven’t gotten deeper voices yet. happens in japan about as much as it does in the west iirc

I'm really disappointed about the German one, like mk I don't really mind but macaque? Really? That's why I always prefer the English one over my language Edit; never mind I got used to macaque but found out Red sons voice is the real disappointing thing about the german dub
In the name of Spanish LMK community I’m so sad that the dub was canceled 💔 Hope that doesn’t happen with the other dubs, cuz Monkie Kid has inspired me to learn new languages thanks to the lack of dubbing.
