Your video gave me confidence to replace the screen on my daughters MacBook Pro,never done anything like it before. Three failures. 1) Mashed up the head of one of the 12 antennae screws, had to drill it out. 2) One of the tiny antenna co-axial sockets sank into the circuit board when trying to reconnect the cables, only one connected 3) One of the display connector cover screws dropped into the machine. Shook and tapped the case with no result. However, the laptop now turns on, display working! I haven’t tested the Wi-Fi. May have to use a Wi-Fi dongle. Thanks for the video.

This video was fantastic! I used to work for Simply mac, but it had been a while since I touched any devices. This was a great recap, and done exactly the way the Apple instructional videos were done when I was trained. Thank you!!! Closing the case at the end really is the hardest part 😅

i never touched anything Apple till today when i needed to replace a Keyboard on old Macbook Pro A1502 Mega pro , i purchased the Apple Chinese Mac Book Mega Pro keyboard and went in to replace it , turns out you have to pull everything out short of Pro touch pad Mega Sensitive finger Pro pulling device . And i did it , didn't even have to Open it up again Pro , then fix what i didn't connect correctly because im not a pro . But i wanted to ask you as a Pro , do chinese mega Pro Keyboards all come without backlight . Because it has no backlight now or me not being a pro but repairing mega Pro device messed up something and messed it up real Pro . Of course i did this for my sister who is a Pro , Pro developer and uses it just to apply for jobs , she was fired because she became pregnant , i guess they told her , you are not enough Pro now , so they let her go . She opened up old Mac Book Pro but the boy spilled something on keyboard then she and my brother in law tried to fix it , and they are not Pros in that , did more damage then good . So the job fell on me , i don't consider my self a pro , but i did it in a first go without any special tools for i did not work on Apple or any other computer device in form of Laptop, did work on Desktop but not on laptop .

Just a question : are the "non-original Apple displays" one can buy at for example Amazon also have the Retina feature ? Or are they just ordinary LCD displays ?

I am working on 2006 to 2009 MacBook and need information on how to troubleshoot the electronic system to replace any shorted components. I am 91 years old and have repaired 7 MacBooks from 2006 to 2009. Any video would help because they are hard to find and you do such a superb job of explaining and clearly and distinctly explain I. Detail the steps to take. Thank you.

Is the replacement screen still a Retina display? A lot of the replacement screens I find are just LCD screens

Retina refers to the resolution - the original screens were LCD, not OLED.

A friend asked me to look atr his wife's one of these - because the screen failed (big surprise lol). One of the torx screw heads holding the plate down onto the lcd connector rounded just by looking at it. I think they put the screw in crooked at the factory or more or less glued it in. The screw heads may as well be made of butter. Utter crap imo. I won't have (modern) Apple products in the house.
