@@cobracarlos I like a darker cabin here in central Florida. My friend just installed a shade in his '23 Mach E GT. It is really fast! I may order a '23 Extended range RWD. Do you know the wait time on a custom order?
Also $18K more expensive and also does not qualify for the full federal tax credit (only 50%). That makes the Model Y Performance literally $21,750K less expensive. No thanks Ford.
I find I'm loving my Mach-E the longer I've had it. I, too, love the look, and it always makes me smile every time I walk up to it. I have a lot of respect for Tesla's technology but I just can't see myself driving one.
I kind of think it looks a little like the new ferarri suv coming out. I spend 1100 a month in gas so figured what I’ll save in gas alone will cover the payment. Picking mine up next week 💥 your video has me pumped
I love my Mach E. However I do have constant problems with the app. More than 1/2 the time I get to the car it doesn’t want to open, other times it doesn’t recognize the phone key to start the car. Primarily after updates, the car leaves the headlights on for a long time after the car is locked. Right now the set charging times are not being calculated correctly, saying that the charge will begin during the say although it is set for 12 am. So the technology is not up to par with Tesla but the car looks beautiful and drives very nice. You just need to make sure you can charge it everyday at your house.
I also have a 2021 Mach e. I have 17,000 miles on it. Had a few screen freeze ups in the first few months, since then it just drives great. Drove two Teslas and choose the Mach e. I do not take long trips in it and that is the only thing I do not like, CHARGING away from home is a problem. Like you stated the glass roof is amazing.
Good video. Funny you mention the look. I honestly find the car pretty blah. No, it isn't as bad looking as the Model Y, but it is no where near as good looking as a real S197 or the upcoming S650. Living in Los Angeles, I also worried about the glass roof. No issues, even having driven into the 115 degree desert. As for the Model Y, I did not purchase it because the ride was crap in the two test drives I had. Also, the lack of Apple CarPlay in the Tesla is a deal killer.
I want to say thank you for mentioning the glass roof in more detail than anyone on YT (I watched a billion on them). I been trying to get an owners perspective living in a hot State like Texas. I agree with you on Tesla, the design have never been attractive to me to want to buy. I am currently in the market to get a car and been watching videos or test-driving Mach E, Mustang convertible, Camaro (only cos this is the last Camaro to be made), & Volvo XC40. I am not a fan of Audi, BMW, Benz, or Tesla; I don't like to drive expected cars like those.
I love my 2023 E-Mach but I don't consider it an SUV but rather a Crossover. As for the Tesla or Mach E, hands down the Mach-E is a much better looking EV both inside and out. I had the choice and the Mach-E is in my garage. Another great video!
Yea dude, even a Toyota prius is more good looking to some. We have very few of the cars on streets, mostly girls driving it instead of beetle now. ford just can't sell em here, it's the new synonym for Budlight here.
That's funny because I haven't seen a girl driving one of them. I see plenty of women in tesla's all the time. Go finish your bud light, maybe one day you'll be able to afford one. 🤣
My wife’s GT Mach E is 1 year old with 10k and zero problems. We plan on keeping this car for 10 years. I think it’s the best looking EV with the Cadillac!
I saw the same model and the year that has like 9k miles, would that be a good buy? for electrical cars if the miles are super low for a 3 years old one, is that considered worse off in the near future compare to a similarly aged car that had decent used miles on it?
I have never had any issues with public chargers. I’ve used EA, EVgo, FPL Evolution and chargepoint and have never had an issue and all charged successfully.
HE's talking fast charging. DC charging. Common complaint right now but once Tesla opens up to their chargers to ford in 2024 that should be a lot better.
I've stumbled upon your Mach-E videos since I'm considering getting a used one, and I appreciate the insight. I feel like now that we know that Ford will be offering free Tesla adapters to EV owners that will make the public charging and road trips so much better. This will be our first EV, so even if it's not perfect, we know in the near future we'll probably get a Tesla, Nissan Ariya or the new Honda Prologue.
I hopefully will get my Mach E AWD X in the next few days. I’m in Scotland UK so we don’t rely on Tesla chargers we have lots of independent charging companies IONITY- BP Pulse - Shell - Osprey - InstaVolt - Pod Point - MFG - Gridserve many now 350kw And now Tesla with the new Ford deal. It’s good to see Ford updating the software a new model with so much tech and a completely different drive train there were always going to have to constantly update things and improvements along the way.
Just bought a RHD select here in Australia (our Select is the same as your standard range Premium), and I have bought it with a tow hitch. I wouldn't have bought it otherwise. Here, all models are rated for 750kg unbraked. Each model has a different braked rating, but my select stays at 750kg. More than enough for my trailer, towing my motorbike, fixing my mountain bike rack, or towing a small boat or jet ski. I suspect the lack of tow rating in the USA might be related to driving or legal culture. Towing will work the motors and batteries harder. Maybe it's blue cruise that's affected by the weight, given change on overall length, braking, etc. Blue cruise isn't active on Aussie RHD models.
I had all my windows tinted, including windshield. The roof is polarized so no need to tint that. Car never gets hot inside. I also live in central FL. I'm curious about range loss. Have you got less range as you're mach e has aged? I have a 22 premium std range and I'm only able to get 200 to 210 on 100% charge. I used to get that on 85%. I'm talking actual mileage. Not projected
lol im the 667 viewer. had to make it non demonic I guess lol love ur videos bro! trying to see if I can just buy a MachE this week. wish me luck friends! I would be going from a 2019 Ford Fusion. paying $477 but with gas at $40 a week in California... im pretty much paying $650+ a month...and my insurance is $107 a month.. RIP
Bought a 2023 Mach E GT Performance. I'm not sure the Model Y Performance is real direct competition for the Ford, but that is how the journey started. I drove two Model Y Performance. Both had squeaks and rattles, and one of them even had some kind of filament in the paint. We shouldn't have to pay extra for paint that bad, IMHO. There were some fitment problems with the interior, and it was a little...well...cheap. By contrast, everything about the Ford is higher quality. Panel fitment is great, the white paint is great and a better colour than the Tesla. There are more features included for the price, but the price is definitely higher, perhaps unfortunately higher for some people. Even with the rebates and price reduction, the Tesla MYP is just going to be a lot cheaper and that could be what it comes down to for many people. The Ford is much less efficient than the Tesla, and maybe that's something to think about. There's a reason that we have a 91 kWh battery: We're going to need it. LOL.... However, my average so far is 3.1 mi/kWh and with a 91 kWh battery that's clearly going to be 282 miles. How often does somebody drive. more than 282 miles in a day, for the Tesla supercharger system to be a real world advantage? Plug and Charge works with Electrify America, and Autocharge+ works with EVgo, and for me it has been flawless so far. For me, charging is not that big a deal, although it is clearly less efficient than it could be. My Bolt EV had a lifetime average of 4.5 mi/kWh, so almost everything is going to be inefficient in my view. Having seen Tesla up close, and having driven two Model Y Performance, I do not understand the love affair with Tesla. Unless maybe we just can't relate to people anymore, or as a culture we've forgot what sales is about. It's possible to buy a Tesla without speaking to a single person. Maybe that's good? I confess that I had to establish a relationship with three separate people to get my Mach E GT Performance at the price I wanted, but I'm okay with it. They even pulled that stunt where they let me walk out and go home, and then call me back to say OK we will do it. If you have the time, and don't mind dealing with people who think they are your equal, it's okay. If you can't do that, and can deal with the lower quality, maybe there are advantages to the Tesla. I'll mention one more thing: Tesla range is grossly exaggerated because of the method they use, and you cannot compare Tesla's EPA range to anybody else's. Model Y LR is *not* going to get 330 miles, and the Model Y P is *not* going to get 313 miles. In contrast, it's clear that Chevy and Ford under-rate their EPA estimates.
I ended up in a Mach because Teslas trade in process stinks. I'm really happy with it. It's not a Mustang but it is beautiful inside and out. The build quality is better than any car I've owned, especially my VW Atlas which looked like a toy inside. I've had audi and BMW and the interior is much better in the Mach.
Although I have never owned an electric vehicle I would still put the Mach E ahead of the Model Y. From what I have seen in Lucid, it appears to be leading the way, but it is pricey.
I'm on the verge of buying an I-Pace. Have sadly ruled out the V90 & XC90 (I love Volvos). Am simply doing some last minute research on the Mach-E & Kia Ev6. Top tip for UK viewers - hold your finger on the right hand side of the screen. This will accelerate the video to 2X speed & it will sound like this dude is talking at a normal speed 🙈😂 Decent review though ✊
I'm in the same boat, 2021 Route 1 with 42,000 something miles. I've been really debating on switching over to Tesla but don't know if the Model Y is enough to make me want to switch or not. I've been looking at the Model X pretty hard, but I don't know if I can make myself justify that price... Enjoy the Mach-E, but I'm not a fan of their OTA, their software (BC included), or the ride quality. It rides like a SUV/Truck, and the roll you get in turns I don't like at all; although apparently the Model Y is just as bad.
I test drove this Mach E & u are correct that it drives like SUV. This is why I have asked myself if I should buy it or not cos I was hoping it will drive more than a suv. Considering getting a regular Mustang or Camaro (2024 is the last Camaro), after a few years visit getting a Mach E from Ford again, by then they would have perfected the design & performance. I am not a Tesla fan
I have a 2021 Select with 55k. My max range is still about 220-230 miles (non-winter). I haven't seen too much of a reduction in range. When I bought it, it was only 211, but Ford opened up more of the battery for usage by a software update.
Other than a trade in with tax incentives, no one will buy a used battery powered vehicle with 40,000 miles, it’s just too risky. I love the styling and absolutely not opposed to owning an electric vehicle, I just can’t buy a used one without a hefty warranty on the battery and components. If it’s factory certified with an extended battery warranty I’d definitely consider it, but definitely not a private sale.
Great looking car, but that view behind you at 1:15.. wow. A bunch of us want to know if you kept it long enough to try out the Tesla Supercharger network.
keep an EV? unless he wants to see his testosterone getting lower and lower. own an EV is worse than buying a muscle car, automatic automatic destroyed mustang, EV mustang, buried mustang thanks to soy boys
@Niko I ordered a Premium RWD with the LFP battery on May 8th and already have my VIN and build date the week of July 3rd. When going through the ordering process the wording on the website made me believe the RWD would be built before the AWD version.
@@cobracarlos Ford and GM announced the use of Tesla charge architecture and Tesla and Ford actually just made agreements with each other to allow Ford EVs to use tesla Superchargers. Its a Ford/Tesla Exclusive arrangement (for now)
@@Tree_Cruiser sadly as of now will only be V3 chargers (presumably V4 when/if they start deploying).. so that cuts a fairly sizable chunk out... maybe the reason the annoucment is only for 12k of the .. 18k... and then looking at the default Tesla installs... pretty much every single one is designed specifically for driver-rear port... pretty much have to take up a "wrong" parking spot and hope the curb is low. Or maybe the "trailer" one if the station has one. There are a few new pull-throughs that may work.. but still dont have super hopes. all that said I have a mach-e on deposit... but yeah.. i dunno... i keep wavering as I DO want to take some trips of 1000+ miles one direction...
@@todkapuz Yeah its not gonna be 1:1 on tesla to ford charging. Tesla is still going to maintain preference to their vehicles and why wouldnt they? it would be silly buisness not to, but truthfully adding any additional charging and especially from tesla is gonna be a big advancement for other brands as current EV infrastructure is garbage outside of the Tesla Ecosystem.
Keep this for a couple more years. You obviously like the car despite its shortcomings. It's significantly depreciated. You have the truck to tow the boat and to carry big things. You have other cars to get to Miami. Charging is improving, including promised access to Superchargers. In two years, the Cybertruck will have the new-model bugs worked out. You can sell both the Mach-E and the 150. Then be cutting edge with a CT.
I’ll wait until There’s a 5/10 minute full charge, 1000 mile range, emp proof, and has a trickle solar and alternator inverted install on them. If I’m going to fork out 60grand for one it needs all that, and a 10,000 Gov credit for getting a EV vehicle.
I would never pick any non-Tesla EV because the non-Tesla charging networks are terrible. That is one reason why your car has depreciated so much. Even at $35k, I would hesitate to buy a used Mach E. Given Elon's inability to do things on time, Spring 2024 is IMHO very optimistic for Supercharger and I think your Mach E can depreciate a lot more by mid-2024. I like buying certain used EVs at the end of the very steep depreciation curve because not many want to buy a used EV. I would not buy this used until it is in the 20k range. Used EV is super risky for a buyer with no warranty so I need to be paid for that extra risk over ICE. $20k sounds ridiculous.... but so is paying $60k MSRP for the higher level trims too. As far as which car straight up without regards to price or depreciation, I like the Mach E more of course. But it's never that simple when it comes to EV.
Very true! Thanks for watching! I was listening to a podcast with Doug Demuro and he was talking about how model 3’s can now be had in the 20’s and how it was such a good deal, im all for buying used, this was actually the first car I ever bought new and it was because I wanted to take advantage of the $7500 tax credit I got.
@@cobracarlos Yes true and I would rather buy new. The Mach E is so much better inside and out than any Tesla. Tesla quality is poor and no dealer network, The nearest dealer is in Tampa 2 plus hours away from me. Hard pass on a Tesla.
Model Y is a halv-product.. shadow of ModelX 😂 I not own Mach-E yet, I own Tesla X and some other EV's.. But I have tested both Mustang and Tesla Y and the winner is Ford 😊
As of 4/10/24 Ford and G.M. and Ram/Jeep are in HUGE trouble as it directly relates to BEV'S (Electric Vehicle Manufacturing) MACH E's are sitting on Dealer Lots across the Country as are the F150 Lightning Trucks primarily because they are priced way to high. Tesla Model Y is slaughtering FORD in BEV's as with GM and Ram/Jeep which both will NEVER be able to compete against Tesla. FORD is losing $32K on every F150 Lightning Truck.
I have a question to you, will you be ok if you stop working for 2 month? Financially talking, will you still be able to afford your cars and your life? If not I think you are throwing your money to the garbage.
Like you I’ve had my 2021 Premium since Feb 21, 23K miles. I agree with your pros and cons. If you bought if for the trunk space, you may have bought the wrong car. Never thought about towing, have a truck for that. Been back to the dealer once and that was for the 2nd key fob which was free. Total cost of ownership $19.31 for an interior filter, changed my self along with rotating tires twice at home. I’m still using the 500 free hours. Have solar at home with the Grizzle -E Classic, 40 Amp. I did my homework and purchased enough solar to cover both the house and Mach-e. Over 4 years without an electric bill from SCE. I agree with charging on the road. Made 4 trips at 300 miles one way. One scary moment, not EA’s fault, the location had a power outage. Lucky, I had enough juice to get 45 miles to the next EA. Bottom line, GREAT vehicle. Looking down the road several years to change EV’s when batteries change for better. I have the extended range and would not own an EV that doesn’t go 300+ miles.
Bet you that thing can’t get 250,000 miles on it without a battery change I have a 2005 Chevy Silverado. It has 270,000 miles on it. Original transmission and original motor never been rebuilt runs perfectly fine never had any problems. I bet an electric car can’t get this.😂
can’t stand rich youtubers. I’m happy for you and the new house and nice car. basically i’m fed up for working 13 hour days 6 days a week at 51.00 an hour. and here in Seattle WA we still live paycheck to paycheck, average house is 611k and up. time to leave this liberal shit hole and move to texas where our money goes further and can live in a nov replace like yours and nice car like that Mach E not hatin! Just a little jealous Lol 😅 happy for ya
It's another ugly suv. Anyway you slice it this is Not a mustang period ! At least in my world so you can keep it ! Bring back the late sixties early seventies. And yeah it looks ok for a mall package holder
Just sell that shit. Its like running in public with a budlight in hand. They ruined mustang. Regardless what performance you get youd get more street credit driving a Prius.
