As someone who was brought up in Whitby these idiots messing around on the battery parade and wave dodging showed no respect to the tide. In many ways it would have served one of them right if they had been dragged in. That sea looked like as bad as any I have ever seen I have never in my experience of big tides in Whitby seen it flood so far up pier road.
