My old man rest his soul had a tear up with young Frankie , the old man thought they were all done , walked off and Frankie jr. run up behind him and hit him with a metal rollerskate . Later on he used to do errands for the target metal firm, they used to send him to deliver letters to people in hospital sometimes coz he was a young sweet boy no one took no notice of him. They all used to meet in the Dial pub on Sundays.

My grandfather used to tell us a story about a fellow Irishman man that he worked with back in the day. A big American car was broken down outside the bottom of the flats and he was having trouble trying to start it. The kids of the area not seeing a motor like it was running around it and he lashed out at them. So the guy looking down from the flats has clocked it and thought F this and went down and knocked seven shades out of him. Later on he found out it was Frazer and he was lucky he wasn't tooled up. and the to go back over the water to Ireland.

Some years ago I read Frank Fraser's autobiography.. It must be admitted that he was a hard man - hardened by a hard life and an indomitable spirit. The one thing that shocked me.beyond anything was his description of being. birched in a younng offenders prison. If Frank was brutal - then he was brutalised by the Britsh 'justice' system - and the brutes that administered it in brutal times. RIP Frank Fraser
