Yeah the plot is the evil spider guy is going after them because they are trying to project a unborn Peter Parker. So the other EMT guy is uncle Ben and his sister Mary is pregnant with a variant peter Parker)

It does feel a bit weird that Ezekiel Sims seems to be filling the role of his nemesis, Morlun, and doing the opposite of what he typically does in the comics (which is warn Spider-Man and other totems of the danger they face instead of being the danger), but the whole “evil Spider-Man” thing could be interesting and I’m glad they actually gave the Spider-Women their costumes (though it is kind of funny that Ezekiel got a costume when he’s just a dude with a suit and no shoes in the comics; at least that look does make an appearance here).

It doesn’t but apparently not many others agree. There literally isn’t one actually intelligent comment on that video it’s insane. I went there expecting to see the usual divide among fans but it was nonexistent.

Shouldn't Adam Scott be playing Peter's dad and not his Uncle? Him playing Ben doesn't make sense. Unless Madame Web is set in the 1980's.

They didnt even believe in this project so you can even see the vast lack of budget in this trailer alone. If company doesnt believe in it before it even comes out, why should we?

@@Jay-ql7pb I’m pretty sure anyone with editing skills could make a better trailer if they were given the same clips. Looks like an interesting enough movie but the trailer is almost 2 minutes long, and for a teaser, that’s pretty long. They tried to introduce the plot but they muddied it by all the strange cuts and the clips seemed out of order so it was confusing to actually know what was going on and who any of the characters were supposed to be accept two of them and if you don’t know the big bad you get pretty lost ( but I guess that’s my fault for not being a comic fan-according to some). I don’t really know how else to explain it other than the they should have done it differently. Maybe also not tried to introduce or shove so many characters in on teaser. But I’m hoping that the second trailer will be better. I usually know by the second trailer if I personally think the movie will be good enough to go see.

It really doesn’t, and this “criticism” is fucking annoying as shit to be honest. It doesn’t look like an Oscar-winning film, but the cinematography in particular obviously had a lot of care put into it (literally the “look” of the film) and the overall film looks a LOT better than utter shit like Morbius.

I dunno man, Dakota Johnson just sounds so monotone and wooden. I’m sure she’s a great actress and maybe it’s the trailer. But if you watch again, I can’t remember any inflection in her voice for any situation.

It’s not her that’s the problem, it’s the fact that the trailer is so damn confusing it’s hard to know what’s actually happening. Usually teasers are set up to tease a plot but this one dumped too many characters in there and didn’t properly tease the important ones. Compared to normal, good teasers it felt extremely rushed. A blur of music and characters it’s not even a display of special effects it’s like they just threw this together. I am genuinly interested because I was able to pick out some elements of what could be part of the plot but if someone asked me what Madame Web was supposed to be about and who any of the characters were and what made me so interested I’d just go…..🤷🏻‍♂️

I'm not lying, but I feel very disappointed, that doesn't impact showing Spider Man. But seeing them all is a new concept for Spider-Woman for her own story. Without a doubt I loved the 3 with their suits ❤😍🔥🕷🕷🕷

I don’t know. There isn’t one good or hopeful comment on the trailer itself. I mean, maybe it will turn out like Captain Marvel and not be as terrible as it’s been doomed by the fans. Though not many movies come back from that even after release, even if it is decent. I’m not saying there’s many films in the Sonyverse I’ve enjoyed beyond the Spider-verse films but it’s definitely the first one in a while that I’ve been interested in seeing in theaters. Personally I’m just confused as to what’s actually happening in this trailer. The villian kind of looks like a Spider-Man? I don’t know much about Madame Web either, didn’t even know about her until I heard they were making this movie a year or two ago. Looks interesting but I can’t form any more solid thoughts on this until at least the second trailer drops.

tbh given the trailer vibes, I will at least assume it'll be a decent CMB to eat popcorn to but not necessarily incredibly deep, something like Shang chi or earlier MCU films

it does look like a fanfilm though. I would argue even worse. Its sonyverse after all. They make these movies purely for cash and to jump onto mcu goldtrain by lying about being part of mcu and spiderman (when they clearly arent). They dont make these movies, because someone had cool idea for character, or good script. That is clear. One would assume people already figured that out after 2 Venoms and Morbius, but I guess some have to be burnt 4 times in a row to learn a lesson. Even after THIS trailer. Cmon...

Nah man that movie looked like utter garbage from day one, and then it was. This looks like something much better than that, even if it clearly isn’t quite as good as we hoped. I mean, that’s Sony, though. They suck at this, especially since all their best people finished making Xmen 20 years ago and jumped ship to follow Feige to the new Marvel Studios

I had ZERO interest in this prior to the trailer. After having seen it I can concede that the premise is at least interesting and I will always appreciate a terminator-like villain relentlessly pursuing the heroes. There was some jankiness here and there but I wasn’t repulsed by it like Morbius.

The Thing I like about the Character ''Madame Web'' Is She Can Look at the ''Web'' (And It Shows '' Multiple Possible Futures '' Not just a Single Future. And those futures See can Peir into are From Multiple Dimensions In the Spider Verse.) Also If I am Not Mistaken, Is Not '' Madam Webs'' Ability Make it More of Her seeing everyone else's Web of possibilities. And in doing so She Can give them A short list of What you could Do? Given Suggestions or the Best Ways of doing Something? ) My point is If they Go more into the Many Possibility's In Front of (her) Friends (Or others) Like Many Forks in the Road Of Possible Futures. ( That Could be interesting. ) But But ...Sony looks like they Will be doing a Sort of Time Loop Simulation Scenario? .... Thats Kinda what it Looked like? Doing the Same thing over and over just in Slightly Different Ways (A Bad Boot Strap Paradox) with Other Spider People Hanging Out With her? Which I want this to be Good. I like the Comic Character. Sony Has Been Up till Now? Trying to Make a Spider Verse with No Spider's LOL? They also Want to be part of the MCU? So What is the Long Game here? The only reason Venom worked at all was Tom Hardy. With a less charismatic lead, that would've been just as bad as Morbius. No one relates to Jared Leto. And they're very much hoping that Aaron Taylor-Johnson has the same audience-connection, but he's kind of a wildcard. Kick-Ass and Bullet Train are good roles, but I'm not sure it has the cultural weight for general audiences anymore. This one seems like the same level of writing and production. And I don't think people care a whole lot about seeing the next Dakota Johnson film.

I dislike Tom Hardy as an actor so it was hard for me to like Venom. But this looks at least intriguing. Hope it’s better than what the fans are dooming it to be.

Morbius was written by Sazama & Sharpless; the only other writing credits they had prior to Morbius were for Gods of Egypt, The Last Witch Hunter, & Dracula Untold... 4 shit-tier level scripts. Morbius, the character, hasn't had a fanbase for over 30 years. Nobody cares about a Morbius story that does not include Blade or Spider-Man. Venom was written by Jeff Pinkner, a seasoned television writer with close to 100hrs worth of scripts under his belt for shows & movies like Alias, Fringe, Lost, From, the Jumanji sequels, & a dozen other projects. Scott Rosenberg was Pinkner's cowriter on Venom & the Jumanji sequels; Rosenberg wrote the scripts for Con Air, Gone in 60 Seconds, & another half dozen late '90s to early '00 blockbusters. The character, Venom, has always been extremely popular, with a fanbase that has only grown exponentially larger throughout the past 30 years. I hope you look at your lady the same way you look at Tom Hardy!

It reminds me of Arrow on the CW. Almost guarantied to be universally hated. I would say its probably going to lose a bunch of money but, it looks like the budget was around 500k so maybe it will be profitable.

Don’t go to the comments on the original video, they all sound like androids repeating code. All monotonously repeating one phrase and not one person showing they actually watched the trailer. I’m convinced people just went there to put their stamp of disapproval. It’s annoying as shit. If you are going to hate a movie at least give a reason why and stop trying to be edgy and cool. I wish I could just blame Gen z for it all but it’s clearly not just them.

Sure as shit doesn't look like Marvel. But looks like a actual movie.. which is good.. MARVELS WAS ABSOLUTY NOT a good movie. "as someone studying filmaking" (Also great choice of actors)
