Check out Maddie's RU-vid Channel! / @maddielamar Maddie needed 3 landings for currency, so we took the Cirrus up. Check out "Maddie Landing in High Winds"
"...she could wear a bin liner and still look beautiful" Hear hear, ha ha. I've watched daddy's video of her first solo flight a couple of times. Awesome
So neat to see father and daughter flying to gather. I did watch Maddie talk her way on the first landing, on her solo video, I did the exact same thing on my first solo. Great job Maddie keep posting these videos and looking forward to your IFR cert video.
Well there is nothing better than flying with your daughter! Back when I was flying did the same in about every PA-28 variety and then the Diamond DA-20 and DA-40, the latter which was a dream to fly, well not so much in the post Sept 11 ADIZ airspace. Taught my daughters how to fly and they made great autopilots! Got my license at 17 out of what is now HEF and then flew out of JYO. I should of gone up in a Cirrus just to do some stalls to see how the dual camber wing handled. Liberty is a great school! I went to LeTourneau in TX and have great memories as my roommate had his own PA-28 and we did many hamburger runs 🙂 which was a great way to decompress from school. My then 13 Yr old daughter edited together this video for me as a best ever Christmas present. You can see in one scene I was just sitting in a fully controlled stall having fun. The DAs never broke from a stall like the PA-28s. The looking down still frame is Harper's Ferry. The wing on the DA-20/40 was also sleek and beautiful. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-VtF8wN5QklM.html Keep it up and we'll maybe seeing your airline videos before too long. Congrats dad, I know how proud you feel. I loved the "don't get cocky" comment and yea its so true.
My daughter is a few hours from soloing and, I must admit, about 50 of those million “Maddie solo” views are me :). Appreciate the videos and your contributions to aviation.....
Hi from South Africa. Nice to see you again Maddie... and SO glad you're still flying..!! I fly helos now (S 76) but if I ever get the chance to own an A.C for my own leisure, it'll be a Cirrus.!! It looks like a REAL hot shot and from what I've heard and read.. has great performance figures. Best wishes for 2020 and I'll be looking out for you and your progress - you're SO SO lucky to have a Dad and mentor like that..!!!!! 👍👍😎
Kimi Collier I flew for SAA from 1988 to 1999 ( the good old days). Have been in the USA ever since. I am a Captain on a B757 for a major cargo carrier now. Mooi bly😊
I remember watching Maddie's solo video! I almost didn't recognize her when I ran across this video until I crosschecked your youtube channel. I'm with Liberty as well undergoing their Pro Pilot program with the GI Bill program. Had to take a break since retiring from the Air Force and moving to Washington state. Still awesome to see this father-daughter team flying together!
To answer your question, Maddie is Stunningly Beautiful ALL the time, No matter what...!! Also, I did watch the SOLO video way back when, but I will go back and watch it Again to help with the 1,000,000.00, if that helps. That camera makes it look like my 747 Base to finals were 12:54 ✈️👨✈️😎✅ Maddie’s radio work is way Way better than the guy in the Beech heading north, I mean west, I mean auh, auh.. was, AND she was Chomping on her Gum the Whole Trip as well 😂🤭🤔
Maddie are you flying at Liberty University? If you need to build time with a commercial rating go out to a skydive jump club and get your high performance sign off to get in a 182 Skylane
Maddie nice job on your landing. You will be a great pilot. Keep up the great job. P.S You are a very beautiful young woman. Love your hair in this video.
You Can ask Niko ....of Niko's Wings....he is here on youtube and he flys a Cirrus SR 22 T I think....Maybe he can tell you of a good camera mount...?? Stay Safe Guys and gals Steven Capizzi Columbus, Ohio USA
10:27 - Studying aviation weather... For those minutes when you're waiting in line at Starbucks, or wherever. You can download this into your iPhone - www.faa.gov/documentlibrary/media/advisory_circular/ac_00-6b.pdf I'm up to evaporation and transpiration... - for the last several weeks. LOL!
Just in case anyone complains about the gum chewing, it has been proved that chewing gum improves your concentration 😁. Hard to believe, but it is true. Take care🛩️.
I adjusted my settings where they can not play ads during the video. Only before and after. Let me know if they started sticking them in the middle! RU-vid set the default to interrupt the videos, but I hate that. I went in and changed it manually.
this is awesome. i won't comment on how beautiful the pilot is. she is pretty, but more, she is doing what she loves. dad and daughter....I love it. hello from C.J. love you guys. say hello back when you on the ground. love the video.
Ok...I'll bite, just subscribed and genuinely impressed with your daughters skill level at 150 hrs. My main interest though is that J3 Cub in the hanger! I had purchased and gifted to my Dad as his last fathers day (1986) gift, a 1947 J3, just restored from Frickleton Aviation N3461K. Dad was a 30K ATP Airline Pilot with 15 majors, no accidents, incidents or violations throughout his stellar career. Nice Father/Daughter stuff...Thanks ';-)
Wow, this is so relaxing and watching it helps reduce my anxiety about flying! Gives me hope on getting back on a plane again. Who knows, maybe I’ll consider pilot lessons! Thank you for sharing
Jim (I believe), I might have missed some of your discussion of some of your aircraft... movements etc. On a future video could you mention the status of your Ercoup , expand on the "souped up" Cessna 172, how much training could be done with your Cub, more about your hanger... more talking about everything including the instruments you mention. I am a (slightly sight challenged) flying person who logs flying hours with friends and instructor pilots for adventure - 'effects of controls,' and flying discussion and sight-seeing over beautiful Sydney and NSW. I value your great manner and what you present, but always want more. Might I impose apon you to ask, would you consider noting as preparation, discussion or broader plans for your videos that would expand on what you cover? I know I love seeing a new Quinnjim flying adventure and learning experience pop-up! Cheers. David. Canberra.
Thanks very much! The Ercoupe belonged to a friend of mine. He let us fly it for free while I allowed him to park in my hangar at no cost. I plan on doing more videos explaining our setup and some basic flying instructional videos in the future. Stay tuned!
going out on a limb here, but, look what happens when you have a strong father figure in your life, massive respect to your family, and this is the type of young lady we need in society, not the ugly trolls screaming into twitter about nothing. i wish Maddie and her family every success in all they do.
I was stationed at a pilot training base while in the USAF. I would get off work and drive around the perimeter road and watch touch-n-go's and getting great pictures. 🇺🇸
I first saw Maddie doing her solo, quite impressive I must say. I 50/50 on her hair color but she is perfect either way, I know you’re a proud father and I would be too. After her solo video I subscribed just before you was started talking about hitting the subscribe button. Had me hooked already. I’m a 25 year army commissioned officer and always wanted go fly, jumped out of enough C130’s and C5’s in my service days so I want to learn how to fly planes now probably too old to do that now but I guess why not dream…
Thanks for the support, Joe! It’s never too late. You should at least go on a “discovery flight”. Most flight schools will take you up for 30-45 minutes and let you fly to see if you like it. Check out “Quinn’s first Solo flight” if you get a chance.
MATTE HAS THE MOST EXPERIENCED, MENTOR THAT ANY DAUGHTER COULD HAVE HER FATHER, JUST VERY NICE TO SIT BACK AND LEARN, TOGETHER . YOUR POPS IS THE BEST MENTOR YOU COULD EVER HAVE
nothing like getting checked out in the airplane and dad does all the work. Hilarious. Good job on the landings. By "getting current" in the Cirrus does that mean she is totally comfortable with the Nav/Comm systems and all communications? Where everything is on the panel and how to operate those systems or does it mean she knows how to T/O and land the Cirrus? Just curious. Not criticizing in any way. I just think it is wonderful that you and your daughter have this relationship. Liberty University? Shows me you really care about what is going into her young mind. I applaud that decision whole heartedly.
She can hop in the Cirrus and fly it anywhere without help. We do a little “crew concept” when we’re flying for fun. To get current, 3 landings are required.
I went to Lynchburg Christian Academy with Johnathon Falweell, could have went to Liberty University, but went into the Navy instead,, I took flying lessons at Falwell Aviation!. Maddie likes chewing that gum and is a pretty good pilot, what are her plans for the future?
I am sure you know how beautiful beautiful woman she has become, and the blonde ish brown hail is way nicer with out the gum chewing, vary good Maddie, nice thanks BigAl California.praise Jesus grace Christ amen 🙏.
It's great to see these two doing what they love to do. I'm sorry if I have a slight bit of envy ok! I mean seriously, a 172 in the hangar, a Cirrus and just bought a new hangar. Can you say "spoiled rich"? LOL...sorry. It's so frustrating when your passion is reserved only for the wealthy. Good flying though!
The Cirrus is in a rented hangar. I don't own the other two airplanes in there. We have 1/3 of a Cirrus and a Cessna 150 (if that helps!) It took me MANY years of working and saving to make this happen (about 30). Work hard, save your money and hopefully you can get to enjoy some of your dreams too! You can pick up a Cessna 150 for $20,000. Get a couple partners and it's actually pretty cheap.
Do your lap belt up tight down onto your hips before tensioning up your shoulder straps...otherwise you'll crack your sternum on impact. All the best and up your knots from New Zealand!
Check "Stefan Drury" on FB. He has an SR22 and flies with about half a dozen cameras. He gives descriptions of the setups and why he uses them. Happy flying.
Great to see a new Maddie video - and that she had a chance to fly again - so much fun to watch - as for “airspeed is life” T shirts I’d buy one - I’ve been saying that a lot ever since I saw the Maddie’s first flight video
yeah I agree with the one comment.hair color doesnt matter .sheld make any color Popular!. just curious if ur going to become a commercial pilot. u gotta be proud dad! I think she was meant to be a Pilot
Have to admit, Maddie did very well. The first landing was awesome! As for her hair? Well... um. I'm old school, I like natural. If you're brunette be brunette, blonds be blonds and such. Oh, and if think taxes are bad there, buy a home in Texas! It'll make your taxes seem cheap! Funny how I originally found you watching gun reviews and it turns out we are both career aviators. What do you drive for a living? I worked a number of years working line maint at UAL before moving on to helicopters years ago.
Liberty University is awesome! I’m online in Hawaii. How is the cirrus? I want to get rated for high performance. And the flight school has Cirrus SR22.
The Cirrus is a lot of fun. A little funky at first due to the side stick, but you get used to it pretty quick. Just come in at the proper speed and you’ll be fine.
quinnjim thank you so much for that information. Right now I fly the diamond DA40. I saw that stick on the side seemed very different. I’ll give it a shot. Thank you 🙏🏻 Love the videos 🙌🏼
Funny to reminisce about speed is life but honestly use that every time turning final after watching that solo video! Great advice, family, and flying, look forward to more videos!
So Maddie is going to Liberty Univ, what is she studying, after HS66, I was in the Marines 67-70, Vietnam Experience, then A.A. Business/Computers Bucks County Pa Community College, also learned to Fly, I was fortunate to get a job at an Insurance Co. ISD-Information System Division, then 25 years Mainframe Systems Analyst/Programmer. I don't know if you could make a living flying, but Maddie should study something that is good for a career.
Lots of opportunities for pilots right now. Tons of retirements from the airlines. Maddie may fly professionally, or just do it for fun. She's still figuring it out.
Thanks for pointing out what I already pointed out in the video. You don't realize how obnoxious it is with all the other sounds of flight. We have a strict "no gum chewing" policy now. Problem solved!
