MADONNA Celebration Tour Rio- Why She Didn't Beat Rod Stewarts 3.5 Million NYE Crowd for same Beach 

Rod Stewart beat Madonna because he did his concert on New Year's Eve. Every year New Year's Eve in Copacabana brings millions of people to celebrate the new year. So, many of them were there for the New Year party and not for him. Roll Stone did a show in 2006 he had 1.500 million attendees and Madonna had 1.600 attendees. Also, the show was televised for all of Brazil to watch. Congratulations to Madonna. Bravo!

Why she didn't beat? First, because Rod Stewart's concert was at New Years Eve. People was already here for the fireworks, it was not 5 million Rod Stewart fans. Second, it was not common to have international concerts here back then. Third, people in Rio are too scared with robbery even though it was fairly secured. Fourth, it was televised all over the country on open tv and streamed, so why go face the crowd? Rolling Stones up until now were the only artists alive that somehow equals Madonna's popularity that came here, and their free concert at Copacabana Beach was not streamed nor televised on open tv, and they got 1.5 million people. Madonna beat their public. I truly believe that the only artist that could break Madonna's record is Paul McCartney (and of course, Michael Jackson).

Rio concert was a bit Xtra,compared to the rest of the tour.Nice free concert ,ENOJYED IT ALOT...CHEERS

Madonna made history and set a world record for the Biggest stand-alone concert, with 1.6 million people in attendance. Meaning everyone there was there for Madonna. Rod Stewart piggybacked off the New Year's Eve Celebration that already brings in 2-3 million for the Party and Fireworks alone. So because of it, Madonna set a record on her own. Not on the back of an already highly attended and celebrated date on the calendar. That's why ;)

Rod Stewart wasn't a tour. In New Year's Copacabana brings more than 5 million people. and the show was broadcast live on television in 2 different channels, also on streaming.

It was a "New Years Eve" event, not a Rod Stewart concert. And the age thing... aren't u the one who said she was already dead or somethin' ? U said the celebration tour "never gonna' happen" or something like that... lol 😂😅

If I was Madonna after the break as my finale I would accept a residency doesn’t have to be in Vegas. I think she can pull off one more show a residency would give her a stable year of shows same place lots of breaks in between legs. She can utilize a room to make a show around her career

The concert didn't take place at the end of the beach because Madonna was staying at the Copacabana Palace and they built a bridge connecting the hotel to the stage so the show took place in front of the hotel where she was

Nowadays people watch concerts on streams as well. Back in the day of Rob steward, people had to go there to watch the show

Madonna now does a lot of lip syncing and her dance moves are slower and very basic. I think I now dance better than her.😂
