Madonna on ABC Nightline 1990 (part 1) 

FANTASTIC interview. One of my favorite Madonna interviews I've ever seen.

She was over twenty years ahead of all them. Look at the music industry now, you're able to buy virtually every music video on iTunes and networks have the "water shed." She got a hard time because she was so forward thinking. Takes courage but good for her for sticking to her guns.

This woman could never be replaced because of her persona. No one will ever be like her. Period.

She is such a genius, she totally killed, I just love her intelligence and the fact that she is a true icon.

MADONNA, opening the door for all who followed.

It's crazy how this would be considered lame by today's standards. Thank u Madonna for pushing the envelope and opening the doors for this new generation of female singers. Videos in the 80s and 90s were so on point. Madonna is a marketing genius.

Say what you want about her, but you can't say this woman isn't a fucking genius.

@MyFightingSpirit Hello there..I love Madonna too...Justify my love is my favurite Madonna track...its so sexy, I also love Don't tell me and I deserve it...two really great tracks (I love all of her other songs too) . Can't wait to hear what she does next . :)

I wonder if this segment aired in the former USSR, as it was recorded in 1990, and the Soviet Union did not collapse until December 1991.

@MyFightingSpirit Hello..if thats true why did Ingrid sue Lenny and why according to Wikipedia are Lenny Ingrid and Madonna credited with writing the song?? I now know that Ingrid only sued Lenny but on what grounds did she sue - If its his song which he wrote how can she sue him - and win? I'm confused...please tell me everything you know :)

He should of asked her who wrote Justify my love because we now know that it was not her original song' it was written by Ingrid Chavez' Madonna and Lenny Kravitz recorded it without Ingrid's permission. Ingrid sued and was paid 2 million dollars.

@MyFightingSpirit Hello again...wow, that explains a lot...it sounds like it was a win win situation for Madonna...she gets all the credit and money for her outragious song and video whilst Lenny and Ingrid are left to fight it out between them. I recently read Madonna's autobiography...she was selfish and ruthless back in the 80s/ 90s so I'm not surprised she walked away without a scratch with all the money and notoriety she craved.
