Great interview. He was a great interviewer asking relevant questions and not letting Madonna get away with easy answers while Madonna gave very honest answers while raising valid points. Would be nice to see more of that in today's media climate.
I have to disagree with you, I loved that movie and Madonna was great in it. As far as calling her a hypocrite - she is not. Her entire career has been, and continues to be about her in control and the empowerment of women and many minority groups. The movie was just that- a movie and she only played a character. It is not fair to call her a hypocrite based on one performance in a movie. Just because she played a woman who was degraded etc.. in a movie does not mean she believes in it. :)
This man is so closed of mind. If he could see the world as it is now, it would have killed himself. I love the way Madonna says what she thinks and what she feels and many of those ideas, like condoms ads, are conceived as normal nowadays.
This could have gone sooooo wrong for her, but man is she smart as hell, she turned this shit around, and used it to her advantage....soooo sexy, LMAO! She is in charge indeed, now and when she first started in everything!!!
@MiamiPush2theLimit You Shouldn't say retarded, its not correct. If you have the urge to use that word you say mentally incapacitated, and Madonna seems to be very well spoken and articulate especially with theses hard questions one after the other.
@colincoolness I agree with Madonna, but I understand why people are put off by this. It's simply because it's far from their comfort zone. It's sad, but people are more comfortable seeing violence than seeing sexuality explored. The main reason for that, I think, has to do with religion and how it's implicated society in terms of sexual repression. It's funny too, hip hop videos degrade women, but, it's still within society's comfort zone. But two dudes kissing...lol It's strange how that is.
It's her JOB to be the one with "the cameras and the eyes of the world" watching her. That the position she put herself in. and the audience who views her "art" has the right to criticize it just as much as she has the right to produce it and defend it's merit. I think she is inarticulate and her using the rising teen pregnancy rate to defend her pornography is absolutely ridiculous. She is also shrill and obviously very insecure about the video. I respect your opinion, but this is my opinion.
