Just did the cleaning of the MAF and Throttle Body on my 2006 HHR and it went from rough idle/stalling every time I let off the gas to purring like a kitten and no hesitation. So simple yet so profound! Thank you for the excellent video!!
I just bought a 2007 HHR and have been searching for repair videos and there are excellent ones out there but I really like your style. Most others talk too much and don't shoot close ups like you do. Great job. You are obviously a very talented mechanic and RU-vid producer. Keep up the good work. Also, I do appreciate your comments(verbal and text) and would encourage you to keep making them short, concise and to the point. I look forward to viewing more of your videos.
Nice soundtrack. Thanks. I've been having problems with my hhr. Started with knock. Code suggested knock sensor. Changed it. Cylinder misfire. Changed plugs. Still got a misfire on different cylinder. Changed coil pack, multiple misfires. Pulled the injectors and cleaned them. Put them all back in. Ran much better but stalled a few times but no misfire. I was reminded of a similar problem I had with another vehicle and decided to google the MAFS location. At that point, I realized I forgot to plug in the mafs. Plugged it in and having same air problem. And the misfire is back. My next step is to take it apart and clean it.
@@badmatt4227 this engine layout looks different from mine, is the throttle body on the 2009 on the back of the engine? And there is a check valve attached to the pipe going to the throttle body I cannot figure out how TF to get off. I can't find any info on any of this.
Omg I need help I changed the throttle body and sensor in the intake yesterday drove the car for a few hours today and I’m having the same engine reduced power...
You change the purger? The air filter in the air box? Check your air intake duct? Fuel pump? I did. I just need to spray the throttle body and clean it. If that doesn't work I am screwed.
Hello! I have a 2008 hhr 2.2 my idle was hard and it kept reducing power, I changed the air filter and cleaned the throttle body censor and got new spark plugs however it hasn't reduced power but the idle is still a little bit rough not as bad before I cleaned the TBC! Any clue on why it's still has a ruff idle (only when I'm at a complete stop)? Forgot to mention my engines light reappears after I clear and I get code p0300 that's the only code that shows!
I have 2006 2.4l hhr, cleaned the tb and checked MAF sensor. It didn't run at all before. It does now, but now the engine idles at 2500 -3500 rpm. Codes P0102 and P0113 come up. Do you have any solutions for this ? Thanks for the help and video .
P0102 Mass or Volume Air Flow Circuit Low Input Possible Causes Dirty Air Filter Dirty Mass Air Flow (MAF) Sensor Intake air leaks Faulty Mass Air Flow Sensor Mass Air Flow Sensor harness is open or shorted Mass Air Flow Sensor circuit poor electrical connection P0113 Intake Air Temperature Circuit High Input Possible Causes Dirty air filter Faulty Intake Air Temperature (IAT) Sensor Intake Air Temperature Sensor harness is open or shorted Intake Air Temperature Sensor circuit poor electrical connection Faulty Engine Control Module (ECM)
I have a 2006 chevy Hhr Lt. Recently code P0121 came up, trying to see what route I should go for first rather than ordering my part and taking it to the mechanic. Any suggestions?
Friend I have a fault is my HHR, if you can help me. the following message appears on the board: TRACTION OFF and ESC OFF, then SERVICE TRACTION and SERVICE ESC and turn on the light of the Traction Control trolley (it does not turn off if I press the button) and the only way to turn off the light and leave If the messages appear on the board is to turn off the car and turn it back on. grateful if you know something like helping me.
Are both tires the same size? The computer knows, and will turn the car into limp mode to protect transmission. It will destroy your tranny in very short order!!! Will also show traction light and very little power. Glen.

He was referring to the rpm at idle after cleaning the throttle body. I did the same thing: had a rough idle but not high. Normally around 800-900 rpm in park. I cleaned my throttle body due to a good deal of carbon build-up. Afterwards my idle at park would sit at 2800-3000rpm. In drive it would bounce between 1500 and 2000. Drove it a bunch to see if the ECM would relearn it’s self. No luck. I then disconnected the battery for a good hour to try to clear the ECM memory. So far that worked for me.
What year is this car? I have a 2010 2.4 L. In my opinion the air filter looked bad. Mine looks almost white. It's new. The one in this video is dark. Is it one of those kind that need oil on it?
White is a paper air filter and is disposable. Mine is the K&N air filter, which lets the engine breath better. With the K&N, clean, oil, and reuse. A replacement for a 2010 HHR 2.4L is here amzn.to/3bLRGPl
