@@FYG69 true,but i honestly dislike mafia 3 cause its like you a damn superman,you can just grab someone and slam them to the ground,walk around with a shotgun obliterating everyone and a lot of glitches as well as boring driving but good cars,and a very small map,while in the godfather you have a large map,lots of places to take over,fun driving,you cant just act like you are a T-1000,And those blue health tonics on the ground felt like some savior drink,i dont even know what to call it,especially when you are on low health and almost took a compound over,and you have the mob wars if you dont pay an FBI agent to calm things down,or just go blow their place up,and Godfather 2 which was a lot easier but there you also had great strategy mechanisms,so i politely disagree to your opinion

The main reason why I still play Mafia 3 is because I collect my kickback and sell my plants from the greenhouse to one of my rackets, which is fun to make money, even though the money is pointless, but is so fun to drive around the map of 1960s New Orleans, but I wished they added something like that in the remake, including racing events.

There are secret free ride missions from the original game. You just have to find them.

You must be under 20, when these games came out originally, free roaming and making our own fun is all we had, you kids with your 1000s of side stories and hundreds of NPCs have no idea how fun this was in the early 2000s

Get pass it, times evolve. This game was a remade from scratch, back then they only have limited resources and is a perfect and acceptable excuse on an empty open world, now? They have all the tools they needed. Why not do something with it?

You also mention some open world title, but all of those take place in different settings, GTA took place in the modern world, Withcer 3 took place in a medieval fantasy settings, RDR 2 took place in the wild west, people wants more open world because they want an open world game that took place in the early 1900s

Same thing when in the bar and civilians are eating or smoking casually. You use the gun and everyone screams and panic. I thought it was hilarious hearing Luigi say stop that shit Tom. The remake disabled that, though.

So you go to the location of your arrest to collect the vehicle you left in the road, only to realise its low on fuel, you go to the gas station to fill it up only to come across a burger joint, you go buy a burger only to realise the police are in there talking to the cashier who you robbed one hour prior, it’s too late, shes alerted the police of your presence, now you’re in another chase. Now Imagine this with Mafia 1, You’re not on your way to buy ammo, because you can’t buy any, you get pulled over by the police, you pay the fine because money isn’t a thing in Mafia 1. No burger joint, no clothes store. Nothing. This is the difference between a 2010 game and 2020 game. Only that the 2010 game is much much better and immersive

People are complaining because the free roam of this game is not as immersive as if were together with the main story, it would feel more fluid with the passing...but the game chooses to rush the campaign....it would be a lot better if it were like Mafia 2, were you can do stuff between missions...and not in some "extra mode" accessed in the menu of the game...this way the passing and immersion wouldn't be affected ....BUT if you play the game like a non open world game you can enjoy....still is a great game and one of the best ive played in these last years..

Like me, i give 10/10 to the world of this game, i really like to just walk in the streets and see and hear everything, Lost Heaven is one of the best open maps a ever see, but you never really could enjoy it, i walk in places the campaign never showed me, and this sucks, the country side too, you are always im a rush to do something, i would enjoy to stop in a gas station to fill my car in between missions, stop to buy clothes, stop in home to change it and then take a walk to start the mission, and we never really feel connected with Tommy's wife, and never see his children....we see several zepellins and planes, the could do so much better with what they already have....shame....BUT as i said, the campaign itself, the story, is awesome, really good indeed.....

definitely not, the lack of things to do outside of the campaign ruins the whole thing. Graphics and gameplay do not define how good a game is. For example, in LA noire (released in 2011) you could find and catch random criminals in free roam around the map, which you cant do in mafia DE. Definitely still a good game tho
