A fantastic discovery for this Yes aficionado. I have loved this song since its 1977 release, and this group does it justice beautifully. Never stop discovering new and beautiful music.
beautiful, just came across this by chance.she has that crystal clear type of voice and its sounds better than the original "in my humble opinion". should be released as a single,if such things exist nowadays!
I'm immensely touched by and astounded, by the depth and talent in the group. Christina is amazing, her voice is so unique and perfect in her renditions of other groups materials. I love her voice, simply, it is so very distinctive and she has the most amazing control of it, simply an amazing gift! Magenta is so underrated, I only pray and wish they get the recognition they truly deserve, for they are one of England's finest progressive rock bands, period! :)
Great job. I have to ask though with some sadness in my heart, "Are there no men nowaday that have range and can sing high or is every great singer of the seventies doomed yo be interpreted by a female singer. Not yo knock female singers, but a man singinging high has a vast array of tones and didtortion that a fenale cannot equal.
so funny how time and styles change...to see a bunch of guys with punk haircuts playing prog rock. would we have believed it back in 1977 when they were at each other's throats? anyway, love this....
@2:25 Does anyone else get an uplifting chill? Christina mimes imagining, with sudden awakening and focus, like what was imagined has become manifested.
Saw Yes do this in the 70's and this a great version. Similar but identical. Prefer it to later Yes line-ups too. Their own material (the few tracks I've heard) is not half bad either. There are many new progressive bands out there playing modern prog in its myriad forms, who get overlooked in favour of the 70's legends.
I think Annie's voice is wonderful, but I'm not sure she would have made as good a job of it as Christine. I know Annie and Christine have performed together.
She's sings pleasantly but don't try to sing like Jon did off the album cause he was at full strength and full talent and this band can't pull that off. So I would say play the melody and sing the song but change it just enough to make it sound good and make it your own.
Trop hard. Pas assez sentimental (feeling) par rapport à la version originale. Yes n'est pas que de la technique. Bravo quand même, mais il manque ce petit sentiment d'âme.
