Magic Knot Yarn Join 

I love this yarn join technique for joining more of the same color when I run out, although of course you could use it to switch colors if you get the placement just right. It so easy to do and doesn't leave you with any ends to weave in. It works with any yarn, but obviously the knot will be bigger and thicker if you're using a thick yarn.
