not only that they use names of abilities I do not know and do not explain them. For instance, I did not know cycle at first. They could say cycle for 1which means draws a card or something like that. Not every time but throughout the show sporadically. As a player who knows how to play causually for many years I dont know all the rules.
Yep, this would be much more entertaining for the masses if you could see the cards, and commentary that explains them. They need to have multiple cameras, with zoomed in views on specific cards, or have pre-loaded card information to put on the screen. Either way, this could be improved a lot, and I hope they do this yr.
I feel bad that you can’t read man, don’t let it get to you. It’s ok, it doesn’t change who you are inside. Just keep having fun with mtg online text to speech, it’s pretty much the same experience and you can meet new friends and have fun!
It’s funny reading comments from newer players disparaging control decks. At the time this match was played, the Temur deck was absolutely dominant and no one was playing UB control. This was seen as an exciting outsider deck taking down the oppressive deck that everyone hated.
if you dont want spoliers dont look at the comment section about the video your watching, thats like reading the reviws of a movie and being supprised they "spoiled" the movie @@skurbadurba
This is riveting! The way he played the card vertical alley and then turned it clockwise, amazing. And then the piece de resistance, he turned it back upright egg gain! Wowza
If you don't know what to comment and decide to talk about hats, you can't lose by simply explaining the cards being used and played. Not ever MTG player knows all the cards enough to understand the play by plays. Always comment the game, everyone wants to understand every detail of the games.
I dont pkay mtg but ygo and normally people who watch the finals shoukd know the meta and thus should know all cards already right? I mean neither in yugioh or pokemin do they explain what cards do because its the responsibility of the players and watchers
@@user-vl8ck4gz6w in pokemon tournaments they show the card zoomed in on screen so you can see what it can do. As someone just getting into mtg I have no clue what the cards being played do.
Wow! Marshall, I watch you watch repair videos! Immediately recognized your voice. Just recently got back into magic back from the OG days when it first came out.
How can you tell without seeing his face? I personally can’t tell if someone is smart just by looking at their hands, but good suggestion I’ll try to learn how!
Well. My inner weebs tells me the reason they keep shuffling their cards on their turns is so they can think of their strategy??? But then again im not a super nerd to know it.
This could really benefit from being prerecorded and edited rather than being basically live, it would make it much more understandable to most viewers
I have no idea what are they doing. My younger brother loves playing this card game with his friends. So, I'm trying to find out what's made this card game very interesting.
Before Covid there some Asian nerds that came in and played at a local Yoshinoya near me and they would be there for hours playing this, looked very cool not gonna lie and I know of MtG but never got into it myself.
You shouldn't be too worried. These guys are pros. While you will be needing to keep a good pace during play, its definitely not this fast. Start out at FNM's, very casual
at ~17:25 correct me if I am wrong but Gerry made 2 thopters in response to vraska's comtempt, thus going from 7 energy to 1. He brought in 2 thopters, but then pumped his energy back up from 1 to 4 without any specific reason that I can see. Anyone ?
If we get to see the cards it could have been better. They should play it more like an anime. This is probably the first I missed the description based battle cries after each move. I don't know. I guess I'm just some taking your time to enjoy instead of rushing things kind of guy.
I came from manga called Subete no jinsei wo hakai suru. But i dont have a single idea about this game at all, but the romance from the manga is very beautiful
If there were better camera angles and the announcers explained things in a way that people besides the homies at my local game store would understand this would be enjoyable to watch
Novice MTG player here. At 3:59 Oliver drops a card on the left side of his board after picking it up from the board and putting it in hand. Is this how the card is supposed to be played? He does it as he is writing on his pad.
So, these are pros and they do a lot of stuff at the same time without showing it. Once a turn you can play a land card and hes putting down an "evolving wilds" as he is writing on his pad but he did play one earlier that is in his graveyard as the card does have you sacrifice it.
How do they keep score in their heads? There is so many things to consider, im going to search now but if someone could explain here that would be cool as well. Like they remember how much mana and damage is out on the board? Super uninformed opinion but this looks way more complicated than chess, is it?
It is sometimes noted as being the hardest game out there to play well. Standard is probably not too complicated compared to chess, but Legacy or Vintage I would say are more complicated.
I would say the basic rules of chess are obviously far simpler, but mastery of chess seems to me like a far harder one to achieve. Understanding the way magic works can take some effort, but i found it way easier to build up my understanding of high-level magic than i did an understanding of high-level chess (which i didn't even reach a particularly great understanding of, to be fair).
I have an interest in learning this game but don’t understand anything about w. To me it just looks like a series of randomness. Does anyone know of any good instructional videos that will visually and verbally explain the ins and outs of the game?
Decided to watch a match after the “how to play” video, to better understand about MTG. Man, was I wrong! Not very sure if I’m interested about it any more.
