Me Neither, in fact I was going to cell mine because I was so stuck on using Ableton only but music production has evolved big time!! So Ya I'm keeping mine LOL!!!
You killed it and very insightful all around. From sound selection to how you chop samples to your use of key functions are amazing. I know I clicked on the link for a review but got so much more, always surprising! Thank you
The fact I dont know how to play piano but I can build a chord out piece by piece makes the MK3 a amazing piece of hardware so glad I picked it up money well spent
Hi Jeff I recently purchased the magnetic coast expansion pack that you showed on your video however I am having a hard time getting mine to work. When I drag selection to sound it says battery could not be loaded. Is it that I don't have Battery that it doesn't work? Any suggestions helpful.
22:31 Timid Kit vibe got me too!!! Ace content Jeff. Just bought a MK3. Cant wait to get stuck in. Respect from Yorkshire, England! Keep up the good work man!!!
Thank you for all you do. You've been a tremendous help to me along this journey of Maschine exploration, Jef. Definitely looking forward to checking out the musical theory lessons!
seeing that you sliced your loop sample and it stayed in the pad is new to me. i didn't know that was a thing. ive always got used to the keyboard version scrolling through pages of pads lol thanks! just got a new subscriber too!!!!
also on another note, you might have already knew... you can use the select button and all the pads, since its just in pads by holding select and pressing multi then select your pads
Brother I liked absolutely all of them!!! I am a true fan of my MASCHINE Now! Thank You!! Funny thing is I bought this pack and it has been setting on the shelf all this time until Today!!
Watched this video, had to subscribe. I ordered a limited edition Mk3 Monday and this looks like a good place to learn. I downloaded the manual to get a head star, 908 pages?? YEEEACH! I do believe I'll need to watch a lot of your videos.
I keep coming back to this video Jeff because its just so nice how you make things so clear and easy to understand. This helps makes music production more creative when you can take advantage of all (or a lot) of the options for sound shaping available. Without it getting in the way of the creative flow. Admittedly I liked your chord progression options here so I took that as a base and expanded upon it to a new yet similar sounding beat. :) Thanks for your continued efforts. NI should just go ahead and hire you! 😁
Excellent display of the new Expansion, I must get that one! Man I can't pick a favorite, my head was bobbin to all of them...Fantastic stuff! You Rock Jef!
Hey Jeff. First of all: your content is fantastic! Well presented and full of great tips. Plus your beats are dope. Instant subscribe! I'm curious about when you move a sound to a group and use it in keyboard mode... When I tried this, the shift of pitch as I moved up/down the notes starts speeding up/slowing down the sample quite noticeably - but you don't seem to be having that problem. Is there something that I'm missing? Perhaps it's just masked by having a long sample to begin with? Or do I need to configure the sampler in some way? Edit: specifically i mean using a sample in keyboard mode, not something like a massive preset
Great job on your channel. Love the content and the tutorial, especially for those of us who have an MK3 and are trying to traverse the learning curve. Initially did a search on the Polar Flare expansion pack and this video came up. I didn't buy the original pack and instead bought this one, instead, after seeing your terrific video!
Awesome video and fantastic teaching skills from you Jef.These video"s have changed my ability when using my Maschine studio from being left in the box to making some cool tunes and expanding my knowledge of how to use it,Thanks Dude !
Hi Jef. Just amazing how you make every one of your Maschine video's so unique. Every time you slide in several tips I never saw somewhere else. Really looking forward to your upcoming music theory video's. Good expansion with kinda different sounds, especially the percussion sounds. Not my all time favourite, but more then good enough to buy. With the 50% holidays coupon still available it's a no brainer :-)
"Tricko" kit beat with that Dorian note sounds really neat! I can't wait for more music theory videos ;-) Drifting kit beat I think is my fav. Love the percussion and bass with your solo, super chill!
Awesome video again, Jef! Your presentation is simply the best. Loving all your beats and the little tips and tricks that you share along the way. Treacle Kit and Thistle Kit beats were probably my most favorite in this video. Keep them coming! :)
It was really fun to listen all of that, the Maschine seems to be a great tools, even if this device is coming older, I'm hesitating to buy one. It got lot of potential.
HI Jeff, love your stuff, got a Maschine recently b/c of how much I watch you use it so regularly in your workflow. When using the Maschine plugin in Cubase is the the ability to duplicate a instrument preset from a kit (say a Massive bass sound) to a separate group not available? I see in this video you do it easily via holding dup button then selecting pad, pad blinks and then you move to pad on separate group…I can not get that work for me in the plugin. Would be great to hear if Im doing something wrong or a software limitation. Thank You!
It's really great! I mourn the loss of screen real estate, but for most things I love it. I keep email in the lower half of the screen so I'm not looking up all of the time. Having it further away from me seems to feel better on the eyes as well!
Hi Jef, absolutely love your videos. Your speakers sound great even over the internet. May I ask what brand and model you have in your studio....thanks!
I watched this from beginning, took a break to watch your Studio Tour video and then came back to finish this and I'm stoked to but this ecpsi. I haven't bought over from N.I in over a year. Thank you for this! Oh, and may I ask what reason did you switch from the dual monitor setup to the one monitor on the wall and are your speakers PMC's?
I love your videos man. Did you have any videos on how you mix your beats in Maschine? Im a longtime producer but always open to ideas for getting my final stuff sounding better. Keep dropping dope videos!
What you did with the timid kit is amazing ! sounds like some timbaland stuff, loving your vids giving me some good knowledge on maschine i didnt know haha got a new subscriber now
Duuuude, you're making me want one even more now! You also make it seem so easy to use. If only I actually had somewhere to set up an office/studio... I love to see how comfortable you've gotten with the camera and the cadence of the video is perfect. Can't wait to see more! Any chance we can purchase/download full versions of these songs in the future? 😉
hey Jazzy Jef, i'm learning about secondary dominant chords, is there an easy way to use those chords when you use the harmonizer, or is it just a case of writing chords manual one by one.... not sure about this. thanks
Dear Jef, once again a great Video, you have so much experience with the MK3. I can learn so much from you! The new extansion pack seems to be very interesting, i think i buy it. Greets from Germany, i wish this would be your home base and i could make Music with you :-)
So what did I do with that e-voucher that NI was nice enough to make available during the holidays? (Still available as of now, by the way.) Copped this! And yeah, very much my kind of sounds. Thanks for the demo!
First hearing the Expansion I was like naaah I don't want it. First watching your video I was like Where's my discount coupons. I waaaaant it!!! Great and Fun Video, keep the good work going :)
Hey Jef, a little off topic but I can seem to find the answer anywhere. is there a way to set up a "pre master" group in maschine so I can route everything there first and from there out to the master? thanks for your time-SUB403
@@CINIMA agreed! Im using both, as well, and totally dig grabbing the jam, and ....well......jamming, lol. I grew up playing piano,, drums, and bass, and have always loved just picking a groove, and jamming, usually something r and b , or industrial, and as a producer, its real easy to forget to have fun, and just jam. Watching jefs vids, and reading comments really helps get me back in the vibe. Thanks!
One other note: I'lllet you in on what feel if one of the best kept secrets in this whole "making music" thing. Based on the way i see you approach this, if you start to look for some kind of an instrument to actually play...check out the Yamaha MX49. I have one and am certain you guys will love it. - My daughter wanted a GC Baby Grand...I did better than that. He's a CFX 9 Premium Concerto Piano--three of them in fact....to go with the Baby Grand (it has all the piano sets, and it sounds JUST like them. I bought one on the spot the intance I saw one in Guitar Center,---I have played since 4....it's a mini-miracle, IMO). ALWAYS perfectly tuned. Whew. - Last night made a 30 min PsyTrance clip...harder than anything out there today That's the breadth of this thing. If you want to enjoy Analog on a fun machine....try a Microkorg. Perhaps the #1 selling electronic instrument of all time. So Yamaha MX49 or a Microkorg. Check 'em out.
When you are sampling and you are hitting remove -- where is the remove button you're hitting? I usually have to go into the editor and start erasing the slice lines manually?
Hi Christopher! Sorry about that, the camera chopped off the top buttons at that part... if you click the pad of the slice you don’t want, you should see remove at one of the top buttons there...
@@jefgibbons I have a Mikro, so I don't have that button. Are you removing the section from being cut or does it just remove the slice line and combine that one with the previous? Just curious which technique you used here, it sounds great.
Hi I’m starting to use the maschine software and recently happened to stumble upon your videos. I must say I appreciate your content because you are very articulate which makes it much easier to learn and follow. I was wondering if you could make a video focused on using the maschine software from the perspective of the s-series keyboard? It could be any topic I just would like to get better idea of how things translate. Thanks!
