You might get some minor wear and tears at times but the mahindra engines are very reliable. It goes strong even after 500,000 kms if maintained well. The scorpio is a tried and tested product for a couple of decades in India. So no worries, you won't go wrong.
Scorpio is good in india but not in australia. Thts never can be a real 4*4 it has direct competition with 79 series . Which is far better . Only good for construction or small transportation.
Great videos Graham and I love the real life testing the Mahindra in the bush, towing and how it goes compared to other vehicles. It is also great to see your family out doing these adventures with you. I have to admit, when you first look at the Mahindra, you think it could be made to look a little more appealing (not that it was built for that purpose) but the way you have modified yours and the more you look at them, the more you like them. Congratulations on your channel and the great content. Cheers 🍻
Wow... thank you for your kind words mate. Yes I agree, when I first seen one they weren't the prettiest 4x4 on the market. But I was drawn to its robust design and its potential. My wife said thank you for your honest and thoughtful comments. We absolutely love testing the mahindra against other 4x4's. Hopefully we will get some other 4x4's along for a trip very soon as well. So the mahindra will have some company on the tracks. Thanks for watching mate 👍
Two years into our Mahindra and we love it Birdsville, FNQ, an 8500km road trip round the Eyre and up the guts of SA / NT towing the camper Nothing has failed in two years Cheap to buy and cheap servicing,, reliable, frugal (900km from an 80 litre tank) and the aftermarket parts are now starting to appear (so in the meantime we just made our own canvas seat covers 😋 ) It's what a utility used to be, before the marketing knobs brainwashed everyone into thinking they needed an $80,000 bro-dozer
Yep they have an old school charm about them hey. I'm glad you've had a good run out of yours mate. They seem to be a bit hit and miss on the reliability. Some of my mate's haven't had a single issue, while others like myself seem to have annoying things go wrong. That aside, they definitely eat up the kilometres really easy. I'm doing about 1000km every fortnight in mine, and it's an easy time behind the wheel. The more popular these things become, the more after market parts will appear. Thanks for your feedback mate, and safe travels 👍
G'day mate and thanks for watching. Yeah they are getting pretty popular now. Not as popular as the major brands, but definitely making people realise they don't have to buy an expensive 4x4 to have some fun.
Yeah I see the new scorpio N is coming to Australia next year. I hope they make a ute version, it will sell really well over here. Thanks for watching mate 👍
In a Zombie Apocalypse I'd choose the Mahindra as my combat Vehicle hands down 😂💯. On a serious note I don't know it just seems like it would be a great combat Vehicle. Honestly I love the Look of this thing some don't like it well they just can't recognize Unapologetic Ultra Masculinity 🤷🏻♂️.
Mate hands down the best reply iv had on my channel so far🤣🤣. It was a breath of fresh air to read something not so serious for a change. Bloody good laugh🤣. Thanks for watching 👍
Thanks mate, going out this weekend to do some more filming. This time we will have the mahindra up against our mighty HJ45 again. It will be fun. Thanks for watching, and please share my channel with your friends 😀
🤣 yep, it feels like I'm driving a tank as well. But is actually a very good 4x4 for travelling long distances as well. As I drive 800km to work and back each week.
The biggest problem we have here is parts. I would absolutely love to tackle some harder obstacles and tracks, but if I break something it will take ages to get parts to replace it. And this is my every day work car that I drive 800km to work and back each week. Thanks for your feedback mate 👍
another great vidio loved mary pushing it though without any problems good effort young fella done very well great to watch thank you may need gumboots graham lol
Bahahahaha yep, I'm sure they were both teaming up to get me. It is good fun for all involved when filling. Can't wait to get back out there and do some more filming. Thank you so much for the kind words mate. 👍
Great content, thanks for demonstrating how capable the Mahindra is. Would like to know if there's options for front diff locks on the aftermarket for the Mahindra?
Great videos mate, i am keen on buying one, do u have a full list of your mods to date and where you can souce them, i know most of the aftermarket shops are not set up for them yet in WA
G'day mate and thanks for watching. Mods so far are. : bullbar and side rails are mahindra. 12,000lb dominator winch and 9inch spotlights are from 4wd supercentre. UHF is oricom from ocam. Redarc electric brake controller and 50 amp Anderson plug to the rear was ebay. Rear spotlights under the tray were ebay. 2.5-3 inch 304 stainless exhaust is custom made as is the 3.5 inch stainless snorkel. Snorkel head is ebay. Wheels are 15x8 negative 13 offset. Tyres are 265x75x15. ROAD-X. Cant get the rims anywhere any more. Underbody protection is mahindra. Stand alone 12 volt system and 1500w inverter in the box on the tray. Seat covers were from wetseat. Suspension is pedders 2.5inch lift. I think that's it. Lol. I hope this helps mate👍
@@grahamharris4wdadventures53 thank for that , so pretty much off theshelf items, good to know, are your bash plates any thing special, and have you found a under body long distance fuel tank yet . Keep up all your good work and i will keep watching, can wait to see the murchandise Cbeers Frank
The bash plate looked a little thin, but it is pretty strong. Tested it in our last video, and it seem to hold up well. I don't need a long rang tank as the mahindra already gets between 800-1000 km to a tank anyway. And fuel station ate pretty common. 👍
@@grahamharris4wdadventures53 good to know, my first trip will be laverton straight across to cooper pedy about 1400 ks with not servos and towing a hybrid, then into birdsville, will make an interesting trip, if i buy the mahindra I will making most of the add ons you already have. Thanks for the imfo
G'day mate, I really like the design of the bullbar on the mahindra. It suits it very well. Do you like the bull bar on my son's HJ45 landcruiser. I think it's an absolute beast 💪
Awesome so far mate. They run a good pedigree of reliable gear underneath them. Engines are robust and efficient, and parts don't seem to be a problem. They are a tuff all round ute, and Awesome value for money.
Mahindras ( bolero and Scorpio) in India are used extensively as touring taxis in the most harshest part of The entire Himalayan range from Western To the Eastern range, the drivers swear by the reliability and serviceability of the engines
That is so cool. It's always awesome hearing how other mahindras get used across the globe. Thanks for watching and please share my channel with your friends 😀
Definitely will be mate. We always test our builds, it will be a great comparison having the jackaroo up against the mahindra, Colorado, hj45 and the little bj70 landcruiser. Each one of them bring something different to the table when it comes to off road capabilities. Stay tuned mate👍😀
The Colorado would kick its ars to be honest. The Colorado is heavier and has 3 times the power then the mahindra. The Colorado was built and tuned for pulling our custom toy hauler, so it really wouldn't have a problem pulling the lighter mahindra along the ground. The mahindra is a bloody good little ute, but unfortunately it would certainly lose in this competition.
You need to check out the New generation Scorpio-N👆 Already launched in India🇮🇳 Awesome product with so much improved 4x4 capabilities Love from India 🇮🇳❤️
G'day mate and thanks for watching. We should be getting here in Australia next year. I will definitely be having a look at one. I hope they are doing a PIK-UP version of it. Thanks again and please share my channel with your friends 😀 👍
@@grahamharris4wdadventures53 you are welcome and g'day mate, yes you're gonna get it next year in Australia, well they launched 2 products here in India first one is XUV700 awesome product again and second one is SCORPIO-N, according to the sources firstly they're gonna launch the SUV variant of Scorpio-N in Australia and in coming years they'll do the pickup variant also. Well Mahindra seems to be very busy these days as they have 3,4 new products to launch, firstly THAR 5 door version, secondly next generation of XUV300 and some electric vehicles. G'day❤️
@@grahamharris4wdadventures53 yup, i hope mahindra will soon launch all the new products in Australia, well you can check all the products available in Indian market through the official website or youtube videos. Nice talking to you mate 🙏
Hey Graham great vid, what are your thoughts on the motor? aluminium head and block I heard. I also heard they are having some fuel issues with injectors and seals ect. Cheers
To tell you the truth, I haven't heard any issues about the engine yet. My biggest problem with it is the location of the dipstick. It is right next to the positive terminal, and it sometimes snags it when your putting it back in, and sparks everywhere!!. Apparently they are the same engine they use in their tractor, so it should last the test of time.
@@grahamharris4wdadventures53 Hell...no bruh.... *That is not the same engine they use in their tractors* its an m hawk a turbo diesel devloped specifically for the Scorpio and their other SUVs... they have owned Ssyanyong for quite sometime and the newer diesels are jointly Devolped by both the brands together...the diesel motor you see on the new Ssyanyong Rexton is actually Devolped in the Mahindra Research facility in India
Well I was speaking to the technician director of engineering mahindra Australia, and he said the engine was based of the tractor engine. Not to worried.....it runs great, with no issues. And has all the major components up high away from water. So it's got my approval so far. But only time will tell.
Mahindra Scorpio has a horrible image in India as it is usually used by politicians, criminals, gangsters, and drug dealers. If you are driving it in India, people will think that either your father is a politician or a high-profile gangster.
I will bet a fortune and personaly stand my ground on that challenge right now , Your Verna wouldn't do shit even an inch close to anything like that even after next seven lives for real. Let's get to a legit bookie and put it on , prove your point and everything goes to you.
As usual.. this comment section is full of indian bots claiming mahindra is the best😂 its only worth it if u get it for half the price of a Toyota hilux😂😂
It was less than half the price of a hilux🤣🤣🤣. It's definitely not the best 4x4 on the market, but it's definitely one of the best bang for your bucks 4x4 in the group.
